S4 doesnt update

Hi .please give me an explanation. I have got s4 with xxuamk firmware. But my country got the xxuema firmware already 20 days ago. I cant update my firmware to xxema through OTA. IN kies, it also says that your phone is up to date! I am gone mad. Please help me. Won't my s4 ever do an update through OTA?

sir, what it matters is the product code of your phone (csc), and not where you live
connect to kies and see ---------- MDK(???)
any way, for Turkey mdk is the latest firmware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9500&pcode=TUR#firmware

you are right in a place sammobile said there is MEA for I9500 turkey http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=15946
and in another place they said NO.
maybe you dont have (TUR) csc, connect to kies and see your product code as i told you

wierd! you can download it and flash it manually with odin

Last question. Do i have to flash all the updates via odin all the time. Cant i get an update via ota for other updates?

no, just download TUR, latest MEA and flash it with odin, and you will be good to receive any future update
also you can flash any other newest firmware for other country (India firmware is so fast in OTA)

ok, you should be on 4.1.2 and it still doesn't show updates OTA? Try hocking it up to Kies and check through it, make sure you turn off firewall as it sometimes prevents it getting info. open Kies, connect phone and you should see option to update.

Update quickly to 4.1.2 first before flashing or rooting because of sudden death syndrome in 4.1.1.

Yes. It's free.
http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
There you can select if you're on windows or mac.
Download it, install it on your computer. Then use a usb to micro usb cable (the one you charge it with is fine) to connect it to your computer. KIES should launch automatically, if not, open it up. There you will be offered the possibility to update if there is an update available for your carrier.

If You have branded device it's possible that Your current carrier didn't publish newer software version than 4.1.1

????

Need Help Urgent

I brought a samsung galaxy s4 i9500 ..i brought it from U.A.E..now i came to india then flashed a stock indian firmware now that updates are not working..when i try to update throught mobile inbuilt ota service it says "Failed to update software server error please try to update from kies..What wrong did i do..I really need help guys

Did you try upgrading through kies? What exactly did you flash on the phone?

I would Odin back to original stock firmware and upgrade through kies. It won't work if you're rooted. Good luck!!

Agreed and you need to lose root and reset binary counter and have a stock recovery.

Samsung Kies NOT Connecting!

Is there anybody here that knows how to get this dang phone to be recognized by kies. Tried 2 times uninstalling the software and the drivers and still can't get this thing to connect.

You didn't say what firmware you are on, but you might want to try KIES3 instead of the regular KIES.

Take the device out of developer/debug mode if you want to use kies or kies3.

I think i tried that and it didn't work, has anyone with ATT s4 able to connect with kies?

I can't get kies to work either, we're both in the same boat. There is no real reason to use kies though. They don't have the firmware for you to update or anything so your better off not using kies.

I talked to ATT support and they said that being my update fails all the time that the firmware is ON kies and to update that way.

The update to firmware version "MK2" is said to resolve issues with sleep mode on the phone, but that's the only change pointed out in the carrier's official changelog.
