Hey guys. for those of you running cwm on 4.3 why is it after you reboot the phone in recovery it asks if you want to replace recovery with the stock one? I no that pressing no does the trick, but it was not here in 4.2? Any thoughts?

Hi,
i flash my tablet with cwm recovery 5.0.2.7 and now my touch screen doesn't work.
Does anyone have stock recovery?
Or maybe some solution?
Thanks!
Hi,
I'm on stock Rom with a rooted Nexus 7.
I just did the OTA update from 4.2 to 4.2.1 and I did not loose root in the process.
However, I now have a new problem I didn't have before when I was in 4.2.
Since the upgrade to 4.2.1, CWM recovery cannot be flashed permanently. Everytime I reboot my Nexus, I loose custom recovery and then when trying to reboot into recovery I end-up with a red triangle...
The only way to boot in recovery is to flash CWM recovery from Rom Manager just prior to rebooting into recovery, but the custom recovery is just temporary... I loose it at the next reboot...
I also tried to flash CWM recovery image using the Nexus Root Toolkit, but it doesn't work... I still get the red triangle...
I didn't had such an issue when my Nexus was in 4.2... CWM recovery was permanent then...
What can I do to restore a permanent CWM recovery ?
Thanks in advance for your help
I've flashed my phone with Odex 4.4 rom and I want to restore a backup of pa rc2. When I restore the back up, cwm says there's an error. The phone boots up but it spammed with a error or FC box and won't let me use the phone.
So I'm wondering if this is a common fault, if so can it be fixed?
Or will I have to wait until pa release a 4.4 rom?
Ps I didn't install a factory image before flashing 4.4
Thanks

Hmm I done same thing yesterday. Did CWM recovery asked you a question after hiting reboot system? When i was doing it I got some message(dont remember it now) and hit Yes.
Though you can reflash the 4.3 ROM and make advanced restore.
I think so, I pressed yes and had that error/ fc box.
What's an advanced restore??
I've got CWM recovery installed on my VZW G2 as I wanted to install the latest Gummy 4.4 based ROM. Now I'd like to switch back to TWRP. Can I just go into CWM and flash the TWRP2.6.3.3recovery.zip file? Or do I have to do something different? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
The way I've been doing it is to boot into whatever ROM I have installed, and do it from a terminal there (su and loki_flash the other recovery). I don't see why your method wouldn't work; mine might be a little safer since it doesn't modify the recovery while you're in recovery mode.

I switched from CWM to TWRP and just reflashed the zip. I am assuming recovery gets loaded into memory allowing you to overwrite the contents of the recovery partition.
Cool, cool!! I'm off to give it a try.......reflashing the zip file that is.
Thanks again guys!!
Flashing Recovery
I've gone back and forth between TWRP and Philz Touch by simply flashing the zip and rebooting recovery. Personally, I prefer Philz but it does not work well with the latest PA4
I Got a GS4 GPE today, and after updating to 4.4.2 I went right to rooting it. I unlocked the bootloader, fastbooted CWM 6.0.4.4, and adb sideloaded SuperSU 1.93. I booted up and it was all working great! But the CWM recovery didn't stick from the fastboot, so I downloaded the manager to install it that way. After doing that, I now can only boot to CWM recovery (I can get to Android Default recovery and the bootloader, but no matter where I try to reboot from it keeps taking me to CWM. I'm guessing part of my stock ROM is corrupted? If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it greatly... I wiped dalvik and did a factory reset from within CWM, but it didn't help. Does anyone have a stock (maybe rooted) ROM that I could install in case this is actually corrupted? Thanks!
