"Could not retrieve weather" constantly showing up - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I keep getting this notification popping up that it "Could not retrieve weather" about 5 times a day. I cannot find out what application is causing this message to pop up and why. If I click on the notification, no application opens up. Does anyone know what might be throwing this notification? I do not have accuweather installed or the weather channel weather.
EDIT: check my logcat, I don't know if this is related:
[code
W/AwesomePlayer( 216): couldn't get userdata - Weather

Try holding on the notification and clicking app info.

Message notification problem.

Hi Folks,
This is a small, seemingly insignificant problem but it's bloody annoying so I'm hoping you can help me solve it:
When I receive a new message (SMS, MMS, Email) the little message shortcut on the desktop get's the little green '1' overlaid to show there's a message. Once I read the message and reply it doesn't disappear. I can open the message in Chomp or the system default app and it doesn't seem to register with the shortcut - it still shows the overlaid green number.
I know this is something of a trifling problem but I have my phone on silent a lot so it does cause some confusion.
Thanks in advance.
i've noticed mine staying on for a while but then disappearing... maybe it sits there for another 10/15 minutes?
Could be. I have to admit that afer about 10 minutes I've been losing patience and deleting the message, which makes it go away.
do u read ur messages through the widget page? cause i noticed that if u do, then the little green ball remains but somehow if u click on the message icon with the green ball to access ur acc and read from there, then it goes away.
I think that may be a factor, yeah. When I read them through the 'drag down' menu, either with chomp or system default it stays, I'll open the next one through the icon and see if that changes things.
I find that the trackball keeps flashing too unless you actually tap on the Messages shortcut icon to read the new messages that come through (as oppose to viewing from the notifications menu or through the text messages widget). I hope HTC fix this issue 'cos not everyone wants to go through the messages app via the Messages shortcut icon.
Yeah, I only used the messaging icon yesterday and it was fine. The problem seems limited to when you use the 'drag-down- menu.

Message preview in Notification bar

I have a rooted Galaxy S4 and anytime I use the gmail app and the other stock mail app. One for personal email and one for work email. Every time I get a new message in either app, it shows a preview of the message on the notification screen if I drag it down. I want to disable the message preview on that notification screen but have not found a way to do it. I have done it on my text message app and was able to turn it off there. But, I can't find anywhere to turn off the message preview for the two email apps. Does anybody here know of a way to do this or possibly a mod to install that will remove it? Just to clarify, I want to keep the notification just turn off the preview of the message. Thanks.
I'm curious about this too. I've been looking everywhere but didn't find a solution. Did you find anything on it?

how to stop S Calendar notification

I don't S use calendar. I have disabled notifications within the app and then disabled its permission to access the various things such as Calendar/Contacts (basically disable all)
But I am still getting ?Touchwiz notification telling me I won't be getting S Planner notifications (I bloody know Samsung)
Anyone know how to stop this.
I have even stopped Touchwiz notifications
Try pressing and holding the notification itself, then you may be able to stop it

Nougat cannot disable message previews now...WTF

After updating to Nougat, I can no longer disable message previews now with out disabling all vibration and sound.... WTF?? Of course Samsung removed the System UI Timer access too so that option is out. Anyone figure out how to hide message previews? It's annoying as hell when you're trying to show someone your phone and all your messages are hitting them right in the face.
Solution is here.

messages setting and then notification to disable message preview
Yes, but you missed the "without disabling all vibration and sound" part.

Notification Log?

I am trying to find a notification log to find a notification that I accidently deleted. I have read that the log can be accessed thru the Settings widget, but alas that is no where to be found on the widgets screen! So my question boils down to, is there a notification log and is there a settings widget, if so WHERE? Thanks!
