Hi,
I got my Atom on a trip to Asia but I live in the US and subscribe to T-Mobile. When I put my T-Mobile SIM card in, I was able to use all phone and text messaging capabilities except for T-zones, to which I used to be able to connect just by pushing the T-zones button on my old T-mobile phone. The phone plan I am on does have T-zones unlimited (I had to pay extra for it) so I am sure there must be a way to do this on the Atom.
So could anybody please show me how do this? I've seen several similar requests on this board but they were mostly for T-Mobile UK. Any help/advice/tutorial links appreciated.
Thanks!
i m afraid u can't do this when u r on roaming at other country. when u roam on other service provider's network (not on ur home network), T-Mobile may restrict u fr accessing their resources as they "think" u r intruder, not the home user since the request come fr different network.
there may b a workaround by other users. otherwise, check wit T-Mobile at ur home country.
ive been using this apn for lil while and it has worked for a long time. if u have the 9.99 plan on your account all u have to do is change the apn from epc.tmobile.com to internet2.voicetream.com then juss give it a minute to u see the g3 or edge symbol
T-mobile knows....as soon as u go to websites...t-mobile will either cap your data...or upgrade it....
im using it too and til now i dont have any problems i have the 9.99 unlimited web for phones i keep track of my data on tmob website and so far i have 150 mb and i call tmob and i ask them if im going to get charged they say no cuz i have unlimited web for phones and by the way i have a samsung phone to my account but i use my sim card on my g1 that my friend gave it to me so..
So can the 9.99 unlimited data work on MyTouch 3g??
I have looked for an answer but none of the answers show a real answer so i was wondering if anyone can help me.
Is there a way to use an APN setting to get it to work??
The only way to have data is get on the android plan. So far their is no way around it.
Thanks for ur answer then ill change my plan before my phone arrives
all details are given in the attachment below :good:
Thank you....got it.

pressing thanks button isn't that hard
I activated it and even received a SMS from airtel, confirming the activation. But when I check the balance, it still shows me my 2G balance. Also, when I use Internet, the data is being used from my 2G pack only. And hence, I am getting 2G speed only.
Is it because I activated this while I already had a 2G pack active? Please help, friends.
Thanks bro, got it....
Already pressed thanks button

While I activated it,I was having around 50mb 3g data, after activating the offer I got the message of success, but it isn't being showed in my data balance, instead it still shows 50mb.However I have used around 500mb at a speed of 300KB/s.so I mean to say that the offer's data is not shown in data balance....!

firs of all change the network to 3g and then if you are still getting the 2g speed then use all of your 2g data and then you will get the 3g data. The 3g data will not be shown in your balance but it is there .I suggest you to keep your airtel balance zero in case you don't wanna take any risk

Yes, I did change it to 3G.
I think what you suggested might work. After I use up my 2G Data, hopefully I do get it.
Thanks for your reply.
(And thanks to you, too, ishubhamsingh, for some reason I am not able to quote your post)
I tried it on another sim slot with another airtel sim. Successfully activated....

My T-Mobile 6T has been great so far, but when I used the hotspot earlier today I was disappointed by the wireless tethering speeds. I popped the SIM card back into my old phone (unlocked Mate 9) and, although wireless speeds were slower overall, the tethering was much faster. I attempted to edit the APN settings, but everything was grayed out. I was able to add my own APN, but when attempting to enter 'APN type' received a message saying "Carrier does not allow adding APNs of type dun." Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? Is T-Mobile trying to get me to pay more for 4G tethering by somehow slowing my hotspot to below 3G speeds? Would the international ROM be able to circumvent this?
Thanks
if you're paying for 4G tethering, then call T mobile and ask for help
If you're trying to steal it without paying for it, thats a different story

Not trying to steal 4G, just wondering why the 6T's hotspot is slow much slower than my old phone when the the phone itself is so much more capable. My Mate 9 gets closer to full 3G speeds (500Kbps) when tethering.
Thanks
The only stealing that would be going on is the carrier trying to get him to pay for the same data twice.
