Hello,
I purchased my Nexus 10 in the United States, but currently reside in Korea. I accidentally left my wall charger at work today. I always charge my Nexus with the original wall charger plugged in to a power converter just to be safe. But now I'm wondering. I have a Korean USB to micro usb wall charger that I use to charge my phone. It has a DC 5.0V 1000mA charging capacity. I would like to know, would it be safe to use the Korean wall charger, or would I blow up my battery? I've searched all over the net, and I can't get a definitive answer. Please help.
Thanks.

I guess you can try plugging it, but keep an eye on it just to be sure everything is fine. If it starts to become too hot or behaves weirdly unplug immediately! And also, remember to pick back your normal charger ASAP! I already charged mine with a S4 charger with no problems .

Well, do keep an eye on it, it me too, I bought my nexus 10 from the states and using it here in Malaysia with my nexus 4 charger. Everything is fine though.
Nexus4 modded with cyanogen.
I have a N10 from USA, and recently bought a Samsung travel charger in Korea that I use to charge it. No problems at all, both via micro USB and pogo.

I was wandering if its only my nexus s(i9023) takes upto 3 to 4 hours to charge.

same here, up to 3-4 hours, which is quite much
The charge time is quite ridiculous

You can use a different charger - the one that comes with the Evo is 1.0A, not the 750ma that comes with the Nexus. Still - the Nexus is way too slow, but this helps.
I hope this is not the case. I just purchased the Nexsus S last night and i like guick charging while in the car. The iPhone 4 I have been using charges very quick. I am using a 2.1 AMP car charger. Right now I'm at 82% and charging so will see how long it takes to get 100%

Check whether your phone is charging in AC mode or USB mode when charging with the car charger. If it is slow, I suspect it's charging in USB mode.
I have Galaxy Tab 7. Will that charge faster since the Tab has a bigger battery and hence a more powerful charger?

I believe the SGT 7 charger is a 5v charger, which is the same as the Nexsus S charger with 0.7A.

Buy a battery charger. I like the one from Samsung. There are also many aftermarket options.
So lovely to come home and pop in a fresh battery.

Might do that. Saw on eBay, 2 1500mah batteries and charger for 9.99. Only thing is they take forever to ship from Hong Kong.

Actually, i just took a look at my Galaxy Tab 7" charger and the output is 5V 2.0A. It's not the same amperage as the Nexus S, but higher. Should definitely charge faster then.
I use a 1 amp Pre cylinder charger.
No idea how long it takes; so far have only charged overnight with the occasional USB cable top-up.
Not sure if I'd try something pushing 2A though...

My girlfriends nook wont charge with any cable including the original after puting honeycomb on the sd card and idk what I did to it... could it be the connectore were using im using a griffon usb wall charger and her nook says discharging then when we plug it in it says not charging and I feel horrible cause I broke it it does go up in percentage but it says not charging... Only the official Nook cable and charger will work for charging.
But the percentage goes up, and also it never came with a wall charger only the cable....

If it was new it came with a charger. If used, someone stiffed you. You can buy a charger and cable from B&N for $24.95. The charger and cable have additional charging pins from normal cables which is why other chargers will barely if at all charge it.
It was brand new but only has the cable she still has the box which only has a slot for the cable

Both brand new and Barnes and Noble refurbished come complete with charger and cable. The charger is a small wall adapter with a USB socket that the cable plugs into. It can supply about 2A and over extra wires / pins which are in the official cable.
Check the box and if you didn't get the adapter then you should contact Barnes and Noble.
You can charge your nook with a compatible cell phone charger, but you have to plug in the nook, then turn it off and leave it alone for 8 hours or so to get a full charge.
Do check for the part the cord should plug into, to plug into the wall. Call 1-800-thebook if the cord breaks (which it will!) for a free replacement. The cords are cheaply made. I am on my 5th cord - all replaced for free.

Sorry if this sounds amateur, but I was wondering if I would be able to use my cell phone charger with the Nexus 7 without it causing damage. Or is the reverse true too?
The output on the Nexus 7 charger is : 5V - 2A
The output on the One S charger is: 5V - 1A
The input on the Nexus 7 charger is 100mA higher.
Now technically this means if I use the Cell charger the tablet would take longer to charge right?
But what if I use the tablet charger for my cell phone? Would it damage my phone?
I'm only wondering because I don't want to have too many cables cluttering my workspace.
Thanks in advance.

You're right about the charge time. And yes you can use it on your phone. I have a 2A charger for my g2x that's blazing fast.

It charges super slow on my GNex charger. 10% in an hour
you can use the nexus7 on your phone it will work as a rapid charge, i wouldnt make a habit of it...
Don't quote me on this, but using the 2A charger for your phone should work just fine, as it should have an internal limiter that prevents too much current from being passed through the device, damaging it. I have done that before (with a different charger) with success, so it should be just fine. Also, the N7 *should* charge on the 1A charger, just a LOT slower, and may only charge if you turn it off.
Thanks for all the quick responses guys. I just wanted to make sure I don't do any damage to them.

Would this be a safe idea it terms of the life of the battery down the road? I also bought a 3rd party car charger.

I use chargers from various phones. Have used different phone chargers with all my phones. Never had or noticed any problems. I'm sure you will be fine.

Yes, it's safe. I'm using an old Samsung charger to charge my Nexus. The charger doesn't really matter IMO.

When using chargers that don’t come with the device, the only difference it can possibly cause is the rate of charging (how fast your device charges).
Just take a look at the milliamp rating on your charger. The N4 comes with a charger that outputs at 1400ma. I found that if I charged my N4 with a charger made for SE Arc, it takes forever to charge which isn’t a surprise since that charger outputs 750ma.
Don’t worry about using a higher milliamp charger on a device that’s rated to charge at a lower rate. The device will only draw what it needs. I’m not sure what’s the maximum ma the N4 will charge at, but let’s assume it will charge at 1400ma maximum. Even if you use a 2A charger, it will still charge at 1400ma.
Even I thot its safe and was using my Nexus 7 charger with the Nexus 4 . everything was fine for a few hours. Then suddenly it froze and the screen started getting weird lines on it .I immediately removed the charger and while the device was rebooting I could notice that the screen had a burn in kinda image on it. It slowly faded away later. Haven't used the Nexus 7 charger since and I've never got the same issue again.

I don't think so. Cuz I wasn't even using it. It was just lying there most of the time. I switched on the display and was looking at battery monitor widget to check the charging status and then maybe twitter or something and it just froze. Held down the power button for 10seconds then restarted it.

As a rule of thumb I'd keep then Nexus 4 away from the Nexus 7 charger.

The N7 charger is rated at 2A. I sometimes use it to charge my N4. Most of the time, I use a generic 2A charger. At the office, I use a Samsung 2A charger for my N4. I’ve encountered zero problems.
Truthfully I'm more concerned using a 12v in the car. Any suggestions what I can get?

Is anyone else having problems charging their S4? I was using a 5V/1A car charger while on a trip and the phone was actually losing power faster than it was charging. I did have Waze open and was playing music using local files with Google Play, but my S3 was able to handle that fine and still charge in the car.
Additionally, I left it plugged in overnight for 6+ hours using the AC plug that came with the phone and it didn't charge up all the way.
Is there something wrong with my phone?

I had the same problem in my car. I had a cheap car charger that was lower amperage than the standard wall charger. This phone is designed to charge with a 5V 2Amp charger. Your screen draws more power than your s3 so 1amp might be it's burn rate with screen on, GPS, music, etc.
I got a 2amp car charger from thinkgeek that works brilliantly. It was a little pricey. Amazon has one for 6 bucks. I highly recommend buying a coiled micro USB cable so it is more manageable.

Should be as safe as using the stock charger. Even if it was a lot more powerful than the stock charger it would still be fine because the phone itself is what regulates how much power to send the battery.
