I updated my s4 to the lollipop goh1 update through Odin. All went well. Used it for about a day when all of a sudden the screen stopped responding and went blank. In this state it is identified by the computer as qhusb dload. When I pull the battery and restart it starts fine and boot alright but after about 2 minutes of use (or less) it freezes again. I reflashed the rom(l720sptgoh1) through Odin and still gave me same problem, flashed it with pit file numerous time etc. Upon each flash when it boots to stock recovery to complete, it shows cache wipe failed. I installed philz recovery to try to wipe cache and it was successful however now system won't boot at all, stuck on glowing Samsung with blue blinking led. I've tried installing cm12 and recovery cannot mount system data and cache partitions. I then reflash through odin retry and get the same results. Could it be hardware? Please help. I'm desperate
Phone is stuck at "encrypted for security password" screen even after full Data wipe
My s8 is with custom rom and kernel, I never touch/enable any storage encryption setting, no passcode lock setup on the phone, It happen after I wipe /data in twrp. It stuck at this screen after booted up, I don't have passcode setup on the phone. It still stuck at this screen even after I do Format Data, wipe /system /data /cache and clean re flash Rom, kernel, that used to work, the phone boot and build up dalvik cache but still end up at the password screen,
I google about this and find " the default password of AOSP defined as default_password in the cryptfs.c source file" enter default_password don't work as well
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
I have resolve this by flash stock recovery via odin to do a factory wipe. It can boot up normally now, haha
or you can just "format data" in twrp
Need Help!!!!
I cleared the cache from Stock recovery (which I do regularly) after that the phone is stuck in the boot at Zenfone logo (dots moving). However it does ask for the password before that and every thing works there, after that it is stuck there forever, nothing happens.
Things I have already tried:
1) Flashing Stock Rom using the Stock Recovery
2) Clearing the Cache again
3) Flashing the updated Stock Rom (Pie)
Able to boot in to recovery and fastboot mode, however bootloader is LOCKED and ADB is DISABLED as well.
Is there any way to recover the data from the phone? It is important for a legal case, and I was not in the position to take the backup, sorry for that.
It would be very greatfull if some once can help me recover this important data or start the phone.
Or should I just go ahead and factory reset the phone?
I have a Samsung S7 Edge that kept rebooting itself randomly. I thought it might be due to a corrupt update. As time went by it started to bootloop several times before booting properly.
I managed to remove my Google account to disable FRP but I didn't manage to activate the secure startup pin before flashing.
Used Odin 3.14.4 and downloaded the BTU version of the firmware, but I later realised that the version used was XEU. Does that matter at all? Once the flash completes it auto reboots and begins bootlooping again. I have tried to clear cache partition and also factory reset via recovery menu. It again starts bootlooping many times, until it reaches the following screen that says;
Encryption failed. Unable to start up your device. The encryption process was interrupted. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data. [Reset].

What else can I do here? I have not tried changing any settings in Odin, I left it at its defaults.
I am also unable to flash TWRP, as I understand I would need to unlock the bootloader beforehand and I'm not able to get it to boot.
Any luck? Its too late though
steps i did:
installed twrp twrp-3.4.0-1-markw
flashed lineage-17.1-20200920-UNOFFICIAL-markw by shiabzzz
wiped data and cache, excluding internal storage
tried to flash gaps but failed due to error 20
flashed magisk
reboot.
now im stuck on bootloop. i know i should have deleted data before flashing the rom, not afterwards. when i press power+up it's not going to recovery.
how can i fix it?
are gaps mandatory for it to boot?
will my phone turn off when it runs out of battery, will i be able to go to recovery then?
update: i can access fastboot mode, but when connecting to pc and trying to boot to recovery it says "waiting for device".
