32GB Ubuntu Touch success (SGP312) - Xperia Tablet Z General

Just thought I'd post a quick note for those of you eyeing an Ubuntu load on a 32 GB machine. It does work, with a caveat: out of the box, recovery would not mount my sd card. So, after you apply the boot.img, you need to adb root/adb shell into the box and add "/dev/bloack/mmcblk1p1 /external_sd auto rw" to fstab. (i.e. adb pull /etc/fstab fstab, vim fstab, adb push fstab /etc/fstab)
At this point, mounting /external_sd works, and you can flash the zips to your device.
And, the df output, to prove it works:

Also, because it wasn't obvious from the docs, to get ssh installed after, you need to do:
adb root
adb shell
ubuntu_chroot shell
in order to get apt-get to work. At that point, apt-get install openssh-server works just fine, and you're off and running.
Enjoy!

Noob here, but would this be the same for the SGP311?

For SGP311, you need no modifications, this only applies to the 32GB version.

Sorry but that didn't make sense to me. Are you saying either:
1) won't work as it applies to the 32gb only, or...
2) will work and won't need to modify anything?

[Q] 10.1v does not recognize any SIM anymore

the following now happened for the third time in 2 weeks:
suddenly there is no Internet connection via UMTS/GSM anymore. When I shutdown / restart the tablet, I don't get a prompt for the SIM-PIN anymore. No Internet connection is possible.
The first two times I factory reset the device and things were fine again for a few days. Now it happened again ...
Some facts:
- a standard Vodaphone Galaxy Tab 10.1v,
- no firmware changes,
- not rooted,
- lots of space on the /sdcard

[Q] Why repartition?

I don't get why you would need to repartition your KF if you are running stock firmware. App2SD functionality works, it is just not exposed in the UI. I have moved apps back and forth using Titanium Backup. My current mount points look like this:

Everything mounted under /mnt/asec resides on the sdcard, and I observed the used/free space change when I moved them. So why bother?

[Q] CM11NewLife: internal storage fullish (950MB/1000MB)

Hi aLL !
Is it just me or did I forget to do anything ?
I did upgrade to new bootstrap a month ago using the *.7z package provided by Quarx and then adjusted it with another one which was posted on the development thread by an user.
There are 52 user apps installed and the internal memory will soon occupy all its GB space !
Right now I´m away from home and unable to use adb in order to give any verbatims of terminal´s outputs.
Bump !

Lollipop 5.0 "Insufficient space available to download"

Hi everybody. I'm running a stock Nexus 4, rooted, with clockwork recovery. I've received all previous OTAs with very little problem. I didn't even bother re-installing 'su' after the last one. Everything's worked great. Last night I got notified about the Lollipop OTA. I click "download", after which it tells me "Insufficient space available to download". This is strange, as I have ample space. I'll show you:
Code:
[email protected]:/ $ df
df

/mnt/asec/fishnoodle.snowfall-2 12.1M 9.2M 2.8M 4096
As you can see I have ample space on my sd card. This is where I'd expect the update to go.
I've tried going in to the system settings and wiping the cache. I click the thing, it says that it gets done, but when I check 'df' as above, the /cache partition still looks the same.
The question is now: where don't I have enough space to download the OTA?
Second question: what do I do about it?
I've scoured the internet for answers, but I've found nothing.
Please see the attached image
Same here!
While I've got 2.5 gb of free space

This you could do a "df"? Either via a terminal emulator or "adb shell"?

I am afraid i don't really know how to... only every worked my nexus with the SkipSoft Toolkit
---------- Post added at 08:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ----------
I went into cwm recovery and cleared the system cache. update is now downloading : )
( i also changed from dalvik to art to try if it worked before, but didn't. Did also cleared dalvik cache to be sure)
If only the installation didn't crash.. sigh
ended up sideloading 5

There's very little difference in the cache partition, but now at least I could download.
When I tried to install it, however, it fails. I reboot, and I'm back to kit kat
And now I can't check for new updates, either. It's like I don't get a second try on the OTA.
I'm currently flashing the factory image. It's going to be interesting to see what I end up with, whether I'll retain my data, whether I'll get a new recovery, etc...

Exactly the same happened for me, that's why i downloaded the zip separatedly and sideloaded. like this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2mgh8o
Took a while but works fine now
Good luck!
I had the same problem. Also my phone started bugging out (freezes for several seconds, apps crashing).
I don't know exactly how I fixed it, but I connected the phone to my PC via USB to download and delete some older pictures and clean my downloads folder.
Before that I had roughly 3GB free, after that I had almost 4 GB free.
I rebooted my Nexus and after that the OTA download did automatically start. IT took more than 1 hour to download, but the update went through and Android 5 now works like a charm.
Flashing the new image worked. The down side, of course, was that I lost everything I had on the phone. All my settings, everything. It was perhaps to be expected, but it's still no less annoying =(
I would have assumed that applications that do make backups would have done so on the sd card (internal storage) rather than on something that is wiped like this.
Ohh well...

It's worse. I didn't quite realize what I said when I said everything. Apparently I meant it. Even the SD card was wiped. All my pictures, everything. No wonder I couldn't restore anything.
It's times like this I'm happy I turned on cloud sync for my photos...

This is completely fine. Low space on /system will not cause any problems on your device. Apps, data and ART cache are stored in /data and /cache respectively, the only time /system is ever touched is during an update or if you for some reason install apps to the system partition (possibly to make them survive a factory reset?)
Other than that, you should never need to worry about the space on /system. The current update solutions patch the partition contents directly (hence the reason why if you change something on /system, you're ineligible for OTAs)
