Good luck!

Sorry guys I got it built yesterday then got distracted I'll see if I can't get it booting this morning
*it looks like my problems are early in init I get a boot USB comes alive but adb never kicks it reboots first so I need to investigate ramdisk.
ramdisk seems fine it may be a problem with my custom package I'm stealing the cm10.2 build changes and going to try running make otapackage that way maybe it's a permissions issue
*ok been looking around and aparantly everyone is using the r1 branch because the r2.1 branch and the dev branches don't quite work lol I'm destroying this repo and syncing again
*FINALLY I got the aosp build system replaced with something a bit more practical and I have a build with a compiled flashable zip woohoo still only a partial boot but it's going faster
*arghhhh I put cm10.2 together in it's super duper early state and didn't get any life out of it either I'm off to bed

Hello
I'm Italian, I installed your Rom is I had no problems installing and booting.
the wifi works well, the GPS satellites located (I have not yet done so to make the fix), the Rom is very fast and responsive (ok that has few apk installed).
Unfortunately, the 3g does not work, does not view the SIM, my provider is TIM (Telecom Italy Mobile)
Congratulations for the great work anyway.

[I9000] CNA 1.4.0 UNOFFICIAL nightly build [2/03][dead]

6/03 : Official topic has been opened
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23319217
Get your latest CNA fix there.
This topic is now officially (get it?) dead.
Since no official topic for CNA 1.4.0 has opened, I want to share their latest build.
It has the fixed RIL issues many are looking for.
I do not claim any involvement in the development of the ROM, I'm just a guy who setup a build environment, downloaded the source code and compiled.
As such : treat it as a NIGHTLY, this is NOT an official release so expect no support from me or the devs.
It's just a basic compile so be sure to know EXACTLY what you're doing before flashing.
Code:
ro.build.date=Tue Feb 21 18:26:48 CET 2012
ro.modversion=Codename-Android-(MOD)-1.4.0-GalaxyS
I can recommend flashing another kernel as the original had a tendency to bootloop in the past. But you don't need to listen to me of course.
21/2: http://www.mediafire.com/?rbbh36drchehigt
Edit: Apparently it also has the external SD card fix
26/2: I noticed several changes in their code: mostly kernel, bin, xbin. I compiled again. I'm running the default kernel for now.
http://www.mediafire.com/?81ciaepocyo6wp6
27/2: I've flashed another kernel as the included one caused a dialer wakelock, draining the battery, as well as two reboots.
2/03 : Uploaded another compile
http://www.mediafire.com/?lp54q6x6lkhzf3u
This could be the last one if I read the grapevine correctly.

This has nothing to do with the Asnet release right? It was stopped because it contained a pay-app.
I want to try this one, but only if I harm nobody's income.

Same procedure as usual?
Which kernel is included here?
1) wipe cache & data/factory reset
2) flash zip
3) reboot phone and wipe again?
Im coming from GB 2.3.3.. cheers

As far as I know, the kernel is the standard CM9 one.
But you may want to try another ICS rom from in the development section first...

I upgraded from Dax' release to this one without wipe and everything works fine.
RIL and external SD card issues have been solved.
The only thing that didn't work (didn't show up in the app list) was the Galaxy S Settings (AriesParts.apk), so I copied the one from Dax to /system/app and then it worked.

[GUIDE] How to Fix Rolling Wake-up (Turning screen On from Sleep) P7510 WIFI HC3.2

It’s a kernel problem or kernel to hardware difference!
This is for HoneyComb 3.2 only! Not sure if it applies to ICS Builds if it does I'll update!
I recently decided to try out GALAXY TASK 14 Revamped, everything was working great, while getting my Apps from Google Play the screen timed out which was no biggie it was going to be 15 or so minutes. When I came back 20 min later turned the screen on and the video was out of sync or static in the center of the screen with 2 thick black bars one on top one on the bottom.
Here is what it looks like for comparison to yours (Thanks to cobrax2)

boot-cm_2636.4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912.zip:

2) Hold the Power button for 6 seconds which will reboot the tab and look normal, if it just turns off turn it back on and dont let your tab sleep.
3) Back your **** up...... Please? It will be gone if you don't! Lost all of my 3 stars and eggs by not following my own directions Now I’m Angry.... dam birds!
4) Plug your tab into you PC and transfer "boot-cm_2636.4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912.zip" to the root of your tab.
5) Disconnect and Boot into Recovery.
6) Go to /- install zip from sdcard /- choose zip from sdcard /- boot-cm_2636.4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912.zip and flash that zip!
7) Reboot.
You should be good to go!
Please let me know if this also works on the 3G P7500 and I'll update this info!
Don't forget to hit the Thanks button over there! -------------------------------->
It works for P7500 too.
Thank you very much!!

Worked great!
I had the rolling problem on wake up after installing the bootloader used by isimobile to fix the rolling screen on CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27830023&postcount=41) . I needed to have Pershoot's CWM working to be able to install JB AOSP Alpha (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765254). After some testing of JB I restored a backup to my semi-stock (modified recovery) and was having that ugly problem with the screen. I just installed this kernel and it seems to be solved!
Thanks a lot bugs9477!
YESSS!!
Ahh, a BC native! Gotta say, following your instructions was a lot easier on the mind since you're only a couple of hours away, LOL!
This was my FIRST attempt at rooting anything and I've been pulling my hair out over rolling recovery, blahblahblah. FINALLY pulled the trigger and flashed the bootloader, then loaded this kernel to stabilize after screen lock. Dude, thank you SO much for posting this!! Very noob friendly.
Thanks again!

I tried this fix but still have the scrolling screen after coming back from sleep. Even restoring my initial HC nandroid, the issue will remain.
Does anyone know of a fix that doesn't break wifi?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks PUA John, this worked to stop the rolling screen for me on my P7510. However, it still looses my MAC and IMEI information, thus WIFI.
Be nice if somebody had a proper boot kernel to use.
EDIT: Used CWM to flash a new ROM (CM9 ICS 10.1 -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425631) which fixed the IMEI and MAC Address issue. No rolling screen present either. Only thing that ROM doesn't have is the camera... debating if it's worth my time to try and get a fix for this camera thing or not... Who uses their Tablet for a camera anyways?!

The 4.2.2 GAPPs package
A question for you, where did you learn to build ROMs for the HP touchpad? I've been googleing how to set up a build environment on Ubuntu, which I've nearly completed but then all guides on building cm10.1 (for example) only cover supported devices of which the Touchpad isn't.... I can't find much with Google at least on Touchpad specific ROM building.

This is hands down the best guide for setting up your build environment. Its okay to be on 13.04 as well, you might just have some unmet dependantcies you need to install. You'll likely be told you are holding broken packages and will need to meet the dependencies before you can install the other packages.
sudo apt-get install gcc
sudo apt-get install g++
After following that guide you should be set up to build.
Building for unsupported devices depends on the ROM you are trying to create. Basically you just need to follow the file paths in your local repository until you find something out of place or missing, then fix it.
You can see my githib at github.com/cdmoncrieff where you can see some of the commits I made to build for AOKP to get an idea of the process. There is also a short build-instructions repo with a few details of the process for 4.2.2. If you have any questions, which if you are going to try building, I will be glad to help
I still need more posts before links, here's another!
OK that's great I will take a look, the main problem for me at the moment is time. I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.10 I'm hoping to at least compile cm9 or cm10 to start with as they are pretty much fully operational. SGA's efforts with 4.2 and yours have inspired me to have ago. I guess the battery life is the main item that needs work in 4.2.2 and working out how to get Bluetooth working. What are your plans? Do you intend to try to improve on the current builds?

Yes, thanks!
This should be moved to development thread. You mind if I request that it is? By the way thank you for sharing!

That sounds good.
Wich bugs 4.2.2 has?
Unpredictable power draw
No Bluetooth
Kind of flakey WiFi
Rotated camera preview
I think that's it...

I downloaded the AOSP version earlier and will be flashing tomorrow.
Do I have to wipe / factory reset, format system, etc, or can I get away with just wiping cache and wiping dalvik cache.
Thanks.
Thread moved to development, now that the OP has permissions to post in dev forums

I've looked at your github and there are some useful changes in there I may move over to my rom. I just started getting phantom touches in one corner so I'll try out the ts_srv.c change. I might try the system tunings to system.prop, why did you choose those changes?
Why did you disable backuptool in tenderloin_ota_from_target_files? It is what keeps your gapps when you flash. Does it cause you some problems? I find it works just fine.
good job on the rom.
By the way, the camera driver is consuming lots of power (90mA sleep) so I reverted those three commits. The camera doesn't work but I'm down to 19 and I hope to get back to 4. (it's in my new branch c10.1, I'm still new at git so I left my old tree with camera for those who want it and a new tree with it reverted for me.)
Keep up the good work.

[Fix4RomMakers] 4.2.2 Voicemail Notification fix

im currently running geewiz's latest nightly and i would love to come back to Roms like avatar or domination, aokp, paranoid android.
and i would love to see the voicemail notifications fixed on those or other new roms, and from what i saw on geewiz's OP developer he released a source that needs to be incorperated to the sources or our fascinate roms, and if possible ported to other phone roms if possible, we need to get word out about this because voicemail notifications are something thats a major issue in Android 4.2.2 roms for almost all phones.
Credit goes to the OP for sharing their github sources for it, but as mentioned cyanogenmod has not replied, nor has other major roms, but this is a 99% pure fix for the voicemail notifications as it works perfectly on their rom and was shared in this following XDA-post

@jkok
Seems to be a workable solution in an app at the play store

oh ok! that seems to look great! if it works then the phone's roms are getting the broadcast, just not the native notification? that seems alright then but the main reason why i made this thread is so it can be added to the roms for native notifications, but i like the idea for this app too dw =),

I'm running AOKP 4.2.2 on my Incredible 2 -- would this fix work for it, do you think? I'm not sure what to do with these files in github...?

unfortunantly these are if you are building the rom from source =( the files itsself without the source compiling to make the rom are useless, you would need the person who is compiling the rom to incorperate them into the source, but this is also only tested on Samsung Fascinate (fascinatemtd) using SamsungExtoyos3 RIL (may have mis-spelled the RIL name, but its simmalier at minumum), the RuimRecords, java file is still in the same place, so it will be fine, but this hack method is used to Spoof the CDMA phone as a GSM Phone (as fascinatemtd is a CDMA-ONLY device, it will read as a GSM tho, but all should stay fine) but please be cautious of adding the lines marked in GREEN and removing lines marked in RED if you do this manually, as it was only tested on this device as far as i know, and not the incredible 2, i can confirm its working in 4.4.2 as i have it working on my personal Dirty Unicorns (du44) builds for fascinatemtd, but please dont try this on the incredible 2 without proper testing but remember without compiling the rom from source, this method is useless to the average user to apply, hence the make-shift title tag"fix4rommakers" as its for rom-makers (people who compile from source)

Got it - thanks. I'm just having a devil of a time getting voicemail to work. The closest I've gotten is running AOKP 4.2.2, and it only works after a reboot. So I'm just rebooting the phone on a schedule every morning. Better than nothing!
