Hello,
Just wondering if there is anyway to get 3G and voice at the same time? I know this is do able over 4G but just wondering if it's available over 3G like the GS3 can. Thanks!

Short answer. No.

On the Sprint GS4, no only on WiFi or LTE.

Buy an Evo 4G LTE on Ebay and activate it. For some reason Samsung didn't include SVDO in the S4.

Lol. I have an EVO LTE and a Galaxy S3. No need to go back to those. NV is going on where I live so I'm not to worried. Was just wondering if it was something the devs here could change.

Its not possible to change it since its a physical thing on the phone. Not software.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Okay. I never knew it was a physical thing within the phone. That's good to know though. Seems like Samsung or Sprint would have included this.

Other carriers do, not Sprint. Probably because their network is so terrible.

Short story short my Dad is due for an upgrade he said he'd buy me the GS4, is there anyway that he could buy the phone on his contract but give it to me? I want the GS4 so bad but won't be able to because my plan is not over anytime soon. Thanks guys.
Yes if you are both on sprint he can get the phone and get it activated and then call sprint and swap lines I do it all the time withvour three lines. Just remember you both must have sprint accounts, then call and tell them that you want to swap with another sprint customer.

I'm not on the same account as him would it still work?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I did the purchase through my dad that has a different account, so when they got the phone, I just activated the S4 on my account. The only thing that sucks is that he used his upgrade, but he didn't care because he likes his "flip" phone.

Yes as long as you both have sprint different accounts don't matter, but you dad would lose his upgrade and would have to wait 2 more years or you can trade back with him when its time for your upgrade. ...its works out pretty good for both ofvyou.

Hey everyone. I'm getting an S4 thru Sprint soon and I had some questions. First off, how's everyone liking their S4 stock or rooted? I'm coming from AT&T and I can't stand their tiered data, it's getting expensive. I travel quite a bit and was wondering if anyone else did and how their service is. Whether it's data or voice coverage throughout the states. I think that's about it for now. T.I.A

If your happy with AT&T service I recommend T-Mobile because most cities have some kind of 4G with T-Mobile and with Sprint hardly any cities have 4G and without 4G you could get these Sprint 3G speeds LTE is great if you have it voice is great and my S4 is rooted.

AT&T's service is ok. It's just I'm a heavy data user and I'm already up to a 10GB plan.

Then I recommend comparing both carriers plans and then ask people you know in your area about the service they get with both of the carriers and then make a decision. Enjoy your new carrier.

Already done and Sprint is cheaper and they both have lte in my area. Not sure of data speeds though. I'm only in my town on weekends and will have to see how Sprint handles out on the road.

If you have a little extra cash on your hands, you can go with Verizon. They truly deliver the fastest LTE speeds I've seen so far. But if you use a lot of data or just want a good network, Sprint has you covered!
Sprint's 4G is pretty fast. Ever since I got the phone, I've turned on Wi-Fi maybe one or twice. I mostly turned to Sprint because they have unlimited data, whereas Verizon and other carriers charge by the gig.

Hit the "Thanks" button if I helped!
I suggest maybe waiting for a Tri-Band phone to be released before coming to Sprint so you can fully utilize the lte network. I know the LG G2 will be T-B and the Note 3 should be too, there are rumors of a S4 Tri-Band coming out soon, but personally I don't expect it. S4gru.com is a good place to check out all info for Sprints Network Vision upgrades and all other info.

I'm loving my S4 on Sprint. Their LTE network rollout has been kinda slow in my area but once it kicks in, it'll be very decent for sure. I recently went on vacation to areas where Sprint has LTE (Silicon Valley & San Francisco) and their LTE was awesome.

I'm going to grab negalite tonite. I've been with Samsung phones since the Galaxy S Fascinate. Haven't really ever used any TW roms since 2010 lol. Been a big fan of CM or AOSP roms. I really do like the S4, it's snappy and HUGE compared to the 4 inch screens I'm used to.

For ir app to work the dev of the aosp has to make the rom compatible with ir

It's a flashable version that works with AOSP ROMs as long as that ROM has ir support.

No. You will run into issues with connecting to the network. You will spend half the money on an AT&T full screen assembly.

My theory is it would still have connection issues. I could never wrong so someone please correct if I'm wrong
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Though they are identical, it is still best to always get OEM parts for your specific model number. The assembly is part of the antennas. The antenna lengths will vary per provider to connect to their respective networks. Any change or variations of antennas that are not exactly correct to the providers standards will greatly hinder cell signal performance. Also, the motherboards are identical but the back housing and front screen assembly of both will more than likely be different with how the antenna connects. Like I said, just get an AT&T one.

Did you see how easy it was for them? Didn't take long at all. This has code that's built into the framework as well as the individual apps and possibly the systemui. That's a lot of stuff to change and I don't think it'll pan out.
Anyone? If so, how? I'm running CM10.2 and would love to get the Gear.
Probably not since I'm sure tuchwiz framework is required
