Hello all,
At some point I had issues with my Defy because I have installed a Chinese ROM, after that I used another one to be able to downgrade from higher kernels to 2.2.2.
In all this time I have not used camera and flash of camera because camera was not working and the Flashlight application also have not used.
Now my phone is all normal running CyanogenMOD 7.1, with camera working ok and all, but LED from flash is barely lighting app when flashing on camera app, and also when using flashlight app it is barely lighting.
What can I do to bring it to normal working behavior!?
Hey Guys,
My Nexus 4 was okay since one day. For now, It takes a few seconds to unlock the device and after I started the camera app the device crashed and restarted. This happened every time i wanted to use the camera. So I rooted my nexus 4 and flashed cyanogenmod 10.1. But the camera still doesnt work. The device crashes and restarts. I tried some camera apks like miui camera or camera mx from the play store but everytime i start the app it crashes. I can take photos with instagram or qr code reader. I dont know what to try to fix this problem. I would appreciate if someone can help me

Phone restarted , installed everything and it was running as always. But then i tried camera , because there was some new feature with photo preview or whatever and the thing is that camera wont focus at all. It doesnt matter if low light or good ligh , flash on , of. It just wont focus anymore.

Edit : I have just realised that camera can focus really close objects , like in 10 cm distance. But thats all.

Hi,
I'd suggest trying some different camera apps, just to see if the focus behaves differently in other apps. Then I'd try different settings in the stock camera app like auto focus, smart stabilization - just to see if the outcome is any different. If the camera indeed behaves differently on other apps or other settings in the stock app, than it might be a software issue (factory reset maybe?). I mean since you say it appears since updating, a factory reset might fix it...who knows.
Tried everything
Tried google camera app , tried reseting setting on samsung camera , still only macro is working.
By doing factory reset , all of my data and app will be deleted ? I dont really want to do that.
Yeah, that will wipe your data aswell. You could use full backups if you're rooted or if you have custom recovery flashed, but if you are using pure stock, then I can understand that you're not into wiping everything. Other than wiping, I can't give you more advice. Maybe someone else knows what to do.
Factory reset done , still not working

I just did factory reset and camera is still unable to focus I guess that i am sending this phone right away tomorrow and gonna change it for xperia z2 Note 3 is amazing but camera in low light is bad. And i need good camera in low light. Gonna miss S pen , bit amoled screen , usb 3.0 , 32 gig of internal storage and more. But low light camera performance is really poor.
I've had this problem on my note 2. It is a hardware problem. I had to replace the camera itself and it worked fine after. Something must've borked it during the update. Very uncommon, though.
Hello Guys,
Few days ago I installed Android L in my Nexus4 and since then the back camera of my phone is not being detected. I'm using the Google Camera. I downloaded the factory image again for the second time and the problem still persists. So, I tried using a android L dev preview ROMs we have in this forum, where the camera should definitely work. I still have the problem. What should I do to get the main/ back camera to work?
TLDR:
Ever since android L google factory image installation my phone's back camera is being undetected. What should do to get it work?
Sincerely,
Thank you.
I have exactly the same problem.
After the upgrade, 5.0 camera worked fine, but yesterday rear camera just disappeared, and the front running.
Installation 4.4.4 does not help.
Sorry for my English, I use Google Translate
It took 1.5 weeks and the camera icon reappeared and the camera earned as if nothing had happened.
Got the camera issue fixed.
Bought a camera module from ebay for $8 replaced the existing one with the new one. Works like a charm.
Thanks for the replies guys
Hello everyone. I am using Nokia 6.1 plus global, running latest android pie. Ever since i updated my camera app has a problem with timing the front facing flash. When i turn it on(when using front camera in the dark),the phone flashes but the flash shows only for split second and the photo comes out all dark,no flash to be seen. Any fix for this? Thanks in advance
Maybe you should try google cam?
