[Q] Recommended/usual N7 undervolt settings - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i only recently installed the latest rootbox nightly and m-kernel a56, and i'm registering a huge battery drain (i came from stock rooted 4.1.2). I gave the device a few days to settle in the rom/kernel, but the battery drain's the same, so i installed setcpu and set about undervolting. Can you tell me some recommended or usual undervolt settings for best battery or best battery/performance ratio ?

[Q] Overclocked Kernel on 10.1 RC!

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Nook color to CyanogenMod 10.1 RC1, and I was wondering if there was an optimized overclocked kernel that is compatible with 10.1.
I have read that a kernel will allow for an overclock and actually lower the voltage which means better battery life. This is what I'm most interested in.
I have used the CyanogenMod Performance settings to set the CPU to 1100Mhz, but it doesn't seem like that he helped my battery life. Honestly, i think it may have hurt it.
Thanks,
Han

[Q] [L4-II] Weird Governor Behaviour

Hello guys, i have a small problem with my rooted L4-II, i've searched the web and the forums and i can't seem to find anything on the subject.
I noticed for the last couple of days that my CPU governor changes itself to "performance" whenever it feels like... I use SetCPU to manage my CPU and created a profile to try and force it to stay in "hybrid" (the default governor on this LG Rom), but it still happens.
I already tried other programs (Andromizer, Rom Toolbox, Antutu CPU Master), but the governor seems to have a will of its own and it randomly switches to performance by itself, changing back to the default "hybrid" when i set it again manually, and it stays there for a couple of hours (only to switch again to "performance" later on)
I've tried to find if this was related to some app, but nothing. I'm starting to think that the stock LG/MediaTek kernel has some weird bug that makes the governor switch when it detects a sudden demand for full CPU load, even if it's just for a few seconds. Just a guess.
Has anyone encoutered this problem? Any ideias? Any way to eliminate the "performace" governor from the system or prevent it from being set?
Thank You.
Hello mate! I'm sorry, my post may be won't help you much, but I wanted to share some of my experience too. I have unrooted, fabric LG L5 II phone. It gives me average battery life of around 2 days - 2 days and a half with heavy usage and up to 5-6 days with only 2G/GSM/SMS usage.
This is why I've never needed to change my CPU governor. Excuse me for asking, but what is your battery life and why have you decided to change your governor? In my case I don't need to think about it, don't know how it is with you.
My advice is to clean the cache of your device and if you have rooted it to try Greenify app. It is a new breed of Task-killer and may be it will help you reach better performance/battery life ratio.
Don't mind me asking, but do you have root privilleges on your phone? And if you have can you share your "rooting steps", because I want to root successfully my LG L5 II phone.
Cheers!

Hello there.
My battery life is very good, 2 and a half days minimum, and up to 4 days without charging, but that's not the point. I don't want to change the CPU governor, i just want it to stay in the stock setting, instead of changing itself to "performance" without me doing anything. The only reason i use a CPU manager is to downclock to 500Mhz when the battery is below 15% when i'm at work because i can't charge it there.
I've already cleaned cache and dalvik but all is the same.
I had a Xperia for 3 years and used a ton of different Roms, from 2.3.7 all the way to JB 4.1.2 and never saw such behaviour from the CPU governors.
I've rooted my phone using V-Root and MtkTools as suggested in a thread here on the forums made for the L5-II, it worked perfectly, it's the easiest way to do it.

Thank you for the information, JBolho! My previous phone is Samsung Galaxy Spica and I was using modes since forever, because my original Android was 1.6  and it was quite laggy on my phone. So I know what you mean.
I wish you good luck.

Need help with Faux Kernel Ultimate

I'm in a huge dilemma right now, I want to install the "Ultimate" version of Faux's kernel but when I'm using it, my N4 always reboots on start up. From this, it's obvious that that my N4 cannot handle the OC at 1.8ghz and every time I attempt to lower the CPU frequency in trickster mod, my N4 reboots before I get a chance. Anyone out there have a version of Faux's Ultimate kernel that doesn't come at 1.8ghz by default when you install it?
You could try waiting for your device to cool down then booting it up and changing the frequency. I'm undervolted -100 and I'm using intellidemand and I have no problems with 1.8. The battery life is still unbelievably good - 88% with 1h SOT right now (ran quadrant 5 times).

[Q] Kernel usage is high?

I'm running the latest Purity ROM with Matr1x kernel, and evaluating my battery with GSam Battery Monitor. In the app usage section, kernel is at the highest, is that normal, ive notice my battery dies quick

The monitor says that there are many kernel wakeclocks. Change the kernel to hellcore and you wont get any problem, I am using the same combo.

No Wakelock yet battery drain

I am experiencing severe battery problems. Attached screenshots is "as good as it gets" in terms of battery life for me. That's with Greenify and Amplify doing their thing.
This is 3 hours of SOT a far cry from what you guys are getting.
910W8 on DPK1, stock ROM, with a the Beastmode r56 kernel. Underclocked and undervolted, with the interactive scheduler. I have tried just stock Kernel settings as well.
Flash to stock doesn't help. Brand new Anker battery.
Any ideas?
