See the attached screen capture.
Any idea what this is and what I need to do to get rid of it permanently? It pops up every half hour or so.
Thanks!
Download airpush detector. See if you have any apps that try to phish or access private information. Keyloggers, contact info collector, etc. Also review your previous downloads from the time you started seeing the notification. Could be linked to that, read the reviews of recently installed apps. Also run an antivirus that can pick out apps that make cause a conflict

Airpush reported that nothing was found but so far the warning message hasn't re-appeared so fingers crossed it's worked.
Ta!

Also be sure to run an antivirus. Drwebb light (free) does a fantastic job and/or webroot (free)

Thanks.
The message came back after a while, I held my finger on it until it popped up with which app was causing it and it came up with 'SeAndroid'.
I then froze it with Titanium and so far haven't noticed anything adverse.

Yeah this comes from SeAndroid, which will bug you as soon as it sees you're rooted. I suppose you rooted your stock rom with something like CF-AutoRoot ? Because all the custom roms remove this app. You can safely uninstall the app to get rid of the warning once and for all.

Yep CF-Autoroot.
And thanks, I'll delete it completely now.
the solution that really works
Install "Root Uninstall" from the market.
Run it
Grant it root permission
Click on "User App" at the top
Choose "System App"
Search for "SEAndroid"
Click on it
Click uninstall at the bottom
Accept and enjoy
If you had this message after install a custom kernel on your rom possible that kernel was not build for the rom
or there are an trick for freeze the process with titanium backup
just check the threads for Knox removal. it is quite easy to do. It will solve your problem and still keep root.

Same problem here. Every app I disabled disappeared from launcher except for Amazon MP3, and it's driving me nuts
You could "freeze" the app with titanium backup, which removes the shortcut icon and makes sure the app cant start. Big advantage is that you can still install OTA's. It comes with a price tho..

Freeze is the same thing as pm disable. And it doesn't work with Amazon MP3. It stays in the launcher and crashes when trying to launch it.

AAAHH Im in the same boat too, there must be a way..
If you have permanent root, and Titanium Bakcup, you should be able to permanently removed the app. Just go the backup/restore tab at the top, go the app you want to remove (Amazon mp3) and hold it for a while...there should be an option for forced removed the app. The phone will then reboot itself, and once rebooted you will find it is completely gone. The only down side is you cant update OTA anymore. But really who cares? very soon we will see custom ROMs popping up everywhere. I am pretty sure they will contain the latest updates.
I haven't tried it myself yet, but I found this on another forum:
com.amazon.mp3/com.amazon.mp3.client.activity.LauncherActivity
Hope this works

Hi. I use this app quite frequently and after updating last night it seems to have stoped working. When I start it the screen just goes white. Is it possible that the art update caused this?

That "App" is just a link to the mobile site https://m.pnc.com try going there from your browser.

Using reason and logic. Then Yes!
Thx for the reply. I seen the mobile site is identical. I just liked than when using the app and trying to close it it would actually ask if u want to do that and then it would close completly. The stupid phone browser allways stays on in the background.

Gotcha, I use Dolphin HD, so when I hold down the "back" button on the phone it asks me if i want to exit and gives options to clear cache and recent history. 2c
It appears all the banking apps have the same problem after the update. The Bank of America app does exactly the same thing. Maybe it's a security thing.
So i had the Premium App and enjoyed reading from my tablet.
Now in Marketplace under "My Apps" it shows as "not installed" and when i hit install it does a little loader and goes back to the "not installed screen"...
Anyone else having this happen on a Acer Iconia a500 ?
not quite the same issue, but the free version of the app constantly force closes on my a500. every time i open it back up, i have to login, only to be force closed on again a few minutes later. maybe they finally realized it doesnt work on honeycomb and removed the ability to install it on this version of android?
in your case, can you try restoring it from titanium backup? assuming you're using that of course.

fully installled and working perfectly. Premium version too
OK....now it still shows in market as not being installed.... but it works.
Odd.
Need to screenshot this somehow without having to root the tablet.

I have the same problem with the free version. It force closes after I sign in.
Also for the Market, when I am looking through apps, the FREE or BUY button appears next to them even if I already have them installed.
Question ...why are you guys using an app instead of the browser?
Outside of the search function it works just as it does on a desktop

Being able to quickly search is helpful and to show support for XDA.
I downloaded the ota update for bell but have not installed it yet. I actually don't want to anymore because my phone works fine and I don't want to have problems like others are. But I keep getting popups to install everyday and am afraid of accidentally hitting "update now" instead of " remind later". How can I remove this pop up? Or...how can I remove the downloaded file from my phone completely. I'm just gonna wait for gingerbread and avoid any issues. Thanks

Titanium backup. Basically it stops the program from running, but you can "un freeze" at anytime and it works like new. No risk at all (unless you freeze something the phone needs to run) since you can bring it back unaffected.
I believe you need the paid version to use the freeze option, but its a great program and worth the money.

I have tried to disable it but the button is greyed out for me...
Is there anyway to disable it without rooting?
Can you please post a screenshot of what it looks like when you are at the uninstall screen?

It's called Evernote not Nevernote. It's never going away lol! But seriously just don't use it? You can use your Samsung account and I'm sure the app is really small storagewise.
Root the phone and uninstall with titanium backup
At the screen, there's only two buttons
Force Stop and Disable (but greyed out)
hmm. guess I need to figure out how to root my phone :/

Like the others said it must be a system app. You will have to root to uninstall it, if you want to.
