Flash the correct kernel for your att device.

Did you flash Loki doki after you flashed the ROM?

Link for loki'd deathstar rom

Does anyone have a link to download a loki version of the deathstar rom? Also do you know if it requires gapps and which one?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
There isnt one... i believe if its a tmobile s4 rom you can flash as long as you flash a loki'd kernel after. Dont quote me but ive read around the forums that this method works. As far as gapps, not sure as i haven't used this rom before. Check the original thread for installation instructions.

TW roms do NOT require gapps.

you can use shabby penguins recovery and flash it without having to flash a loki kernel right after because his recovery will patch it for you on reboot. Have fun!!

Its in the t mobile forum. If you have twrp, flash an i337 kernel right after or use the auto loki cwm and you don't need to flash the kernels after.

Literally the first post on original development section. SEARCH does not always mean search with the tools, look at the first page or two of the sections.

I would be interested hearing from somebody that is running deathstar rom on their i337, what loki kernel they used, and how the rom is running. I haven't found anything yet on this in any of the att forums.

Galaxy s4 help

Just got my s4 and was wondering if I can just root it and install a custom tw based kernel on the stock rom?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Yes you can root it, use cf-autoroot and then install a custom recovery so you can install the kernel you want to use.

For you to get the new update, you atleast need to be on stock rooted with no mods whats so ever and have stock recovery. And you can get update but if you have custom recovery its aborts it

Thanks

Are you on 100% stock MK2 unrooted? If you are on a custom ROM or have a custom recovery with root it will not install the zip as it checks to see if your phone has any modified files.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
The phone isnt rooted and it has the stock recovery, as u said how can i check if there are some modified files?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Did you delete, froze any apps that came with the phone? Did you install hotspot or anything that modified the system?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I havent deleted any app, the hostpot is the original app from sprint
But i still dont know why it wont update
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
If you really want to update to kit kat then just odin mk2 .tar and do a fresh install again and just try the download again.

You won't lose your data. A stock tar install does not erase data unless you do a factory reset.
Ok then i will have to wait for the update.zip from Sammobile firmware

Safestrap question.

Hello I did a search and can't get a straight answer. I have the att gs4 4.2.2 rooted and I'm wondering what version of safestrap I need. I see mixed answers like 3.65, 3.71, 3.72 and I'm not quite sure which is it. Help will be much appreciated!

You need to search and read. It depends which version of 4.4.2 you're on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49562527

Check in settings/ more/ about device towards the end what build you have. If you are on 4.2.2 you dont need safestrap any recovery can do. If you are on 4.4.2 its a different story you have a whole different process before you get safestrap. Safestrap use is for locked bootloaders that came after builds NB1 and NC1.
Since you are already rooted there is no use for safestrap. If you are looking to flash custom roms check the ones are compatible with your present build.

See the second post in the link. You will need safestrap if you're on mf3. But you might want to consider updating your firmware to mk2 then see the first link I gave you. That way you'll be able to flash 4.4.2 roms
