sure no problem and i know you will ask why so here is a brief info
they won't check which region the firmware is all they check is if it shows official or custom firmware
plus if your in Europe rooting doesn't affect your warranty
If course they will check that the serial number of the phone matches the region. It's another way to prove user was flashing.

Dear Friends,
I'm using N9005 on this N9005XXUBMJ1 firmware and trying to flash to the newer firmware from other region N9005ZHUDMJ8.
However, I've been getting an error "ext4 img" in ODIN and now my phone cannot boot and stuck on the download mode. So I decided to flash it back to its previous version N9005XXUBMJ1 but still not success and stuck on the same loop.
I have tried doing the emergency recovery from KIES, but having another error "[about] Fused 2 > Binary 1" (on the following screenshot)
Can anybody help me on this problem? I really like the phone and I really need it back.
Thank you
I just solved the problem by myself, it seems that there is a problem with the bootloader on the MJ8 version or something, so I use the MJ6 BTU firmware instead and it works. phewww
Having the same problem...which firmware is MJ6 BTU?
TIA

I think MJ8 is from Hongkong 16GB Model.
Either way the knox warranty void has been triggered. You also have the new bootloader meaning recovery through Kies won't work until your country gets the new bootloader stock.. You are essentially stuck using another countries rom now until your coutry/carrier upgrades their firmware with the new bootloader...
Forget Kies recovery working if things go wrong...

To answer my own question, this is the BTU (United Kingdom) firmware file that saved my otherwise bricked phone which got the MJ8 HK bootloader:

It should be possible, but might fail, so in any case make sure you download both the latest Hong Kong firmware (MK1) and the MJ7 BTU firmware just in case it fails you can flash MK1 on top and your device supposed to work fine.
Hi
Ever since I have updated my S3 with Odin I am having trouble with Kies. I can not update with kies and when I connect my phone and go to update section it says "Your current Devices Firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies".
So I know what the crack is about that Product code and CSC have to match blah blah blah.
Soo what I would like to ask for is help finding firmware that will match my S3 so it will be up datable through kies again.
My S3 was bough in the UK in Phones4U and service provider is Vodafone. But it never was branded or bloated with Vodafone apps so I am guessing that I have had a BTU unbranded firmware and as I read on other forum Phones4U sell phones with UK BTU Firmware.
My current Firmware is PDA:MK6 / PHONE:MK6 / CSC MK6 (KOR) Baseband - I9300XXUGMK6 / BUILD - JSS15.I9300XXUGMK6/ KERNEL - 3.0.31-2168382 4.3 jellybean
Before I always downloaded UK BTU Firmwares and none of them were not supported with kies.
Also my binary count is 1 after downloading and flashing 4.2.2 which was supposed to be official but wasn't but I am not sure if it affects kies updates or not.
So what Firmware will be compatible with my S3 so its supported with kies? Please help and ask for any additional information about my phone if it will help.

Your CSC is Korea CSC MK6 (KOR)
Pleas read the faqs and guides CSC etc .

use sammobile.com and flash chosen firmware for the UK via odin. After that check your csc.
And you should update to kies 3 to recognise your 4.3 rom
sent from sgs3 -stock 4.3 open europe rom

Hi i had the same issue and here is how i fixed it
1. Flash the 4.3 UK BTU firmware from sammobile using ODN
2.Root your phone using cf autoroot - Instructions http://www.theandroidsoul.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-root-tools-videos-guides-downloads/
3. Download CSC Changer from play store and change CSC on BTU
4.Download and install triangleaway app to reset flash counter - http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/4973...ung-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300-reset.htm#.Urj3D7Rn25h
5.Flash the 4.3 firmware again using ODIN
6.Now go into recovery mode and wipe cache and wipe factory data
Your phone will be unrooted and the CSC will match ( Credit goes to medi-927 who originally posted this guide)
Hi,
For a couple of days my Galaxy S5 XEF SM-G900F tells me there's and update for the firmware. As my phone was rooted no FOTA were possible so I uninstalled the root. Still no way tu update from OTA.
I tried Kies, but it always stop at 19% (tried on 2 different computers). So ok, back to the only one method that always works : ODIN BUT
Kies tells me that the available version is DA: OC7/CSC: OC2/PHONE: OC7
On sammobile, the only one firmware that has a csc: OC2 is the one for a specific carrier (Bouygues) . Which one should I download and flash to be up to date please ?
Thanks in advance for your help

I had s4(4.4.2) rooted now I have completely removed the root by flashing stock firmware which I got from this post. I downloaded the turkey 4.4.2 listed under GT-I9500 firmwares although I am in india. Now when I try to update trough settings > software update, I I get msg "The latest updates have already been installed.". So is it happening because I flashed turkey's firmware, pls help me how to get lollipop update.
Flash India (INU) or India (INS) firmware. Either should work, but using the INS CSC is probably best, as that apparently is for unlocked devices. The reason you're not getting an update is the phone is not in the same region as the firmware installed on it.
Stock firmware for the gt-i9500 is here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9500/INS/
@audit13: Already covered that.
My bad, I didn't click on the links

I have a samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500 and I am on custom rom MIUI7. I have a question. I want to downgrade to 4.3. In the app PHONE INFO (SAMSUNG) which is for samsung phones only, it is showing me VIETNAM as Country of origin. While I have downloaded the firmware where the name of country INDIA is written as origin. If I flash that firmware, would my device brick or would it cause any kind of problems? Does the country of origin matters while flashing firmwares?

Nahh, don't wanna read the entire OP before answering.
In all seriousness, Vietnam is always the country of origin as that is where the phone was manufactured. I say that because in Phone Info on my S4 it always reported Vietnam as the country of origin, however my S4 was a UK model intended for the O2 network. So country of origin doesn't matter when it comes to flashing firmware. What does matter is that the firmware you install on the device matches the country you are located in, if possible. For example, just now an Indian user mentioned flashing Turkish firmware on his Indian S4 and wondered how to fix his phone so he could get updates. The solution for him was to flash Indian firmware, because with the Turkish firmware installed the S4 becomes "tied" to the Turkish region and expects to be in Turkey to get updates.
Flashing Indian firmware won't brick your device. However, Odin my reject the attempt to install the firmware, depending on whether or not your bootloader was updated to support Knox.

I have GT-i9500 also said made in Vietnam. When I received the phone it was on Thailand firmware. I live in US and I am on AT&T network. When LP came out I flashed Russian firmware, Germany firmware, etc.. Check your bootloader info. That is more important. If you bootloader is 4.2 and want to go to 4.3, it won't be a problem. Downgrading the bootloader could trip the knox counter or could brick the phone.

Yes and no. Some countries have multiple firmwares due to carrier modifications. Some countries have no firmware at all as the phone was never released in that country.
