Would you return it for one stuck green pixel?

Title says it all got one stuck in the center, green. Only super noticeable on shades of grey.

sure... you paid a fair deal for the phone- if you're dissatisfied, then samsung/retailer should rectify it.
but it does sound like lots of hassle for a single pixel.

of course...especially when you will be noticing it, everytime when you look at it

i'd return it . im sure now you see and look at the dead pixel everytime you look at the screen as you have already spotted it.

Probably not, depends on how noticeable it was.
If everything else works fine, there is always the chance you'll return it and get something far more annoying.
It reminds me of friends who used to return monitors that had a bad pixel.

I would return a monitor for one. I haven't had a dead pixel in a monitor in a very long time.
This one is pretty noticeable being in the center and all.

I would definitely exchange it coz i know how annoying that one dead pixel is.. i had a iPhone like that and i took it to apple store and they exchanged it for me.

I would definitely return it.
You deserve a new and defect free screen when you have paid for a new device.

Talking with the vendor, hoping they take care of me. They have a pretty awful policy on the books there though at 11 dead pixels for a return...
They're talking to the supplier, i will keep you posted.

Aren't there any apps that force colours to all the pixels which then, in turn, might unlock the green one?

Just found 'Pixel Fixer V 2.0' and its free. Give it a go. You can't lose really.

Exactly, there are methods of fixing dead pixels with a good chance of success. I would definitely google it and try them out (and maybe try to figure out which may be best for AMOLED screens).
Then, if nothing works and the dead pixel is in some annoying place I would ask for a replacement.

Even if you don't mind, say in the off chance you sell it later - and the buyer notices it and decides not to - you'll regret not getting a new phone.

Thank you, I already tried that overnight to no avail (and then again several times for a few hours.)

Buying a N4 from craigslist

I think I found an old guy who does not want his N4. Can I pull my att sim card from straight talk and put it in the n4?
What other things should I look for before I make the purchase from someone who has had experience with this device? I am coming from the note 1.

You may need to create the APN, but the phone is Sim unlocked.
Look for scratches, cracks, touchscreen unresponsiveness, earpiece crackle (some is OK. Just make sure it isn't unbearable), dead pixels and yellow spots on the screen.

Cosmetic stuff yea but dead pixel I wouldn't of thought off. Are there any common problems with this device?
APN is good I would of forgot that. I carry my settings for that all the time cause I am constantly flashing stuff. Thanks for your response.

Common problems are light bleed, speaker crackle, dead pixels, banding on the display, and yellow spots under the screen. Did I miss anything anyone?

Lol I was not trying to offend anyone.
I was stereotyping him because he said his wife had to order the phone online for him and that kind of phone wasn't for him. I am guessing it might of been his first smart phone. He is selling a 16 gig for 300 bucks and he used it one day.
He wanted the money to get a iphone:banghead:
I need a new phone cause I think my note 1 has about had it. So it could potentially could be a good timing thing.

It's an unevenness in the way the backlight lights up the screen. You'll see brighter spots around the edges. Some say it's the type of screen. It's not something I've ever looked for or noticed. It doesn't bother a lot of people, but perfectionists let it get to them.

make sure its not blacklisted..yes google can and had blocked the n4..

When you get to him. Ask him if you can call Google and get the warranty transferred over to you. At the same time ask google if it has been blacklisted. If he does not agree, don't buy it.

Sony is slowly but surely finding its feet. Those numbers,if true, are very encouraging for Sony (and a feel good factor for us Z owners )
Lets hope the upcoming flagships cement Sony's position and reputation as a top manufacturer.

So it does not say they they DID sell that many.

We'll, I hope they did. The phone is one of the best Sony have released in a long time. Everyone that I have shown it to is blown away by it. Easily the best Android phone I have used and I've had them all from the G1 till now
Edit: The article linked in the op is terrible. I still hope Sony move some units though as this phone is phenomenal!

That info has been doing the rounds since yesterday. It's been reported by many quoting analysts. I don't think they'll be too far from the actual figure. It'll either be slightly less or slightly more.
It's still an impressive number and when you consider the fact that the phone isn't on sale in America, it's even more impressive.
Looks like the HTC didn't take much away from the Z but the S4, that's another story all together. Sales will definitely drop but if they can keep shifting 1.5 million of them every month. They'll finish the year ahead of target which is the most important thing. The Z was never going to wrestle the crown from Samsung. They are too far out in front for that but with good performance, they'll reach their target on claiming the number 3 spot from Huawei. No small feet indeed when you consider the very large Chinese market. Sony's unlikely too to penetrate the Chinese market because of the history between both peoples. They'll just have to rely on the rest of Asia and Europe. That's why they need to start looking to expand their reach in America. Europe and Asia might have been well receiving of the Z but without America, Samsung and Apple will stay out in front. HTCs problem is the reverse, they have a presence in America, particularly the US but elsewhere, they just have a niche following. With the exception of Taiwan of course.

Yes, let the fashion hindered people keep buying the s3 or s4. I cringe at the sight of one, it looks that bad. I don't understand why people are so in love with it.
To be honest, the only reason why Samsung picked up in the US is because if their kind replacement policy. Sales rep will sign your contact and claim 2-3 free devices on your behalf to make money.

well you could replace the screen. or just take it back & get a replacement device. within 14 days verizon would give you a new one. not sure about other carriers.

If it's red it would then be a stuck pixel? There are some ways to potentially fix those (flashing images of different colours very quickly), but being brand new I would replace the phone.

If only one pixel out of 2073600 pixels is stuck or dead and it doesn't affect you much, then keep it.
But if it bothers you, you are fully entitled to exchange your new phone.

Same problem here, bought a S4 this morning with one dead or stuck pixel (green dot on black background).
Already exchanged at the store with no problem.

These things never does. I have had a lot of devices with stuck/death pixels - always seems to be a 1st batch issue. And always we find these "fix" recommendations but they NEVER work Swap it.

I had a red stuck pixel on my Galaxy S2, I removed it by simply rubbing the screen on the dead pixel while applying pressure.
It disappeared and never came back

I'd be devastated rather take it back.

Playstation plus, the $100 visa card. It's making it easier for me to deal with this sub par screen.
Also what are you guys using for as a receipt? T Mobile doesn't gives us receipts when you pre ordered I only have the EIP that one can download from the website.

See I bought mine between that time. I believe it was the 14th I ordered online, but it's now past January 21st, so does that matter? Did I have to buy the Ps4 by the 21st as well? Or just the phone and I can still go buy a Ps4 and get the $100 visa? If anyone knows for sure the details on this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Had to swap out my phone due to a faulty headphone jack. going to still give this a go and see how it works. I originally picked up mine on Thursday so hopefully my transaction will be Jake free. I also need to see about finding my movies that were downloaded from their store

I'm in the same boat as you I had to exchange mine due to a hard to press volume rocker and on several occasions when I plugged in headphones volume would automatically raised by itself. What issues were you having with the headphone jack?

My headphone jack would not detect headphones some times. Reboot as well as a factory reset did not fix it

Anybody have difficulties submitting the free ps magazine? I went to the website and entered in all the info, select my imei image, and receipt but it timed out everytime. One more thing, is the front camera suppose to be grainy in low light and in the room? If not, I might have to exchange my phone.
