Hey guys,
Recently I've been having this problem with my nexus that the sometimes at random the phone just turns off and the battery drains to 0. Then when I turn it back on the wallpaper is returned to stock and I have to charge it. Also I noticed that when I charge it my phones battery percentage would sometimes jump from 66% to 100% really quickly. I don't know how to fix this and I hope someone does, its a great phone. Thanks for the help.

Try recalibrating your battery
I experienced the same problem in my htc explorer, but not in the nexus 4.try recalibrating your battery by generating a new battery statis.bin
I just calibrated my battery and I'll come back later with the results. Thanks for the response.

Many users reported that fully dicharging their Nexus 4 lead to undetected battery and they all were able to make it work again only by removing the back panel and disconnecting the battery.Since It has a Li-Polymer battery full discharge may degrade the battery life further.Better get it to a service centre. Today I requested for replacing the display, solve overheating and battery drain and probably I may get a replacement.
Yeah I probably should. It's gotten a little too out of hand.

Once again i am reminding everybody that full discharge of the nexus 4 battery lead to "red Light of Death" problem rendering the battery undetected by the Phone. Many users reported it.
Same problem here, mine gotten to the point where I can only use the phone for about 20 minutes... Did anyone notice an expanded battery or back cover?

happened also to me, but only when I am using custom roms. When I flash something new, it sometimes changes the battery percentage after rebooting, showing me always less that I really have

I'm experiencing the very same behavior, and noted (during the screen replacement that I was carrying out) that my battery looked a little "stuffed", not completely flat on both sides. The phone was left completely discharged for at least a month, after replacing the screen and plugging it in, I immediately got the red led.
Could this mean that my battery is damaged?
Thanks

I've read in the Rocket ROM thread in the development forum that lots of people are having battery problems. And now me too.
Let's put our heads together and fix these "not ROM problems"
As I sit here, my phone has dropped from 100% charge to 90% in 35 minutes with maybe 10 minutes web use with 3G data on, GPS off, Bluetooth off and Wi-Fi off.
The phone is 33°c when air temp is 15°c.
I'm using Rocket v11, Abyss 2.3, setCPU with conservative governor.
So... Where to start?
Check list:
1. What speeds is your Note using? Use CPUspy to check if its range is limited and not using deep sleep mode.
Fix: ???
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Get "CPU Spy" and check if phone is entering deep sleep or is stuck at a specific frequency.
Nicely spotted
No deep sleep. Seems stuck on 200mhz mostly. Now 82% battery in one hour of medium XDA browsing.
How do i unstick the 200mhz floor? SetCPU has 100 as the bottom and 1704 as max. But only 200 and 1400 are currently used.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Dont have a count or anything but seems to me that many of the people complaining about battery are on custom roms. Im not and my battery life is good.
Just a thought.
In the Rocket ROM forum several of the top people insist that just because it doesnt happen to them that it cant be the ROM.
On Nexus One the ROMs really blew away previous settings like a ghost image on windows. Here the ROMs seem more subtle and wont change some little setting we have wrong. So i agree. But lets find out how to fix the problem. Maybe an 8 point check list of problems and fixes can be created. I'll stick the fixes at bottom of my original post.

Almost all reviews and users are delighted with the battery performance on the note dute to the extra large battery fitted. So there is no battery usage problem to fix. I think you are misguided unless you can provide screenshots showing the bad performance using the latest stock ROM.

I didn't know how to post this earlier. I've been messing around with flashing, installing and uninstalling all day. Here is what i grabbed earlier but it might be stale now.
Tonight I'll flatten the battery completely with the led torch and recharge it over night while switched off. I think battery has improved a bit after switching to Abyss 2.5

Seems to be a some conflict between kernel and the OS if it's only using 200 and 1400 frequencies.
Try flashing FM kernel with CWM and retest.
When testing your phone must be UNPLUGED. The phone never goes into deepsleep when pluged in.
Edit:
Im running rocket v11 with the latest FM kernel and all is well. 1-3% battery drop per 6 hours idle.

Do you keep your wifi on constantly? That's what drains my battery every other day.
setup your wifi to go to sleep when not in use, unlock and root it, install a custom rom of your choice and flash a good kernel so you can do more tweaking and downclock/undervolt it.

I've actually found the battery life outstanding with standard ROM. My stats as of about an hour ago is 3 days with WiFi on constantly and running audible app the whole time, battery was down to 58%. When I compare this to my hox which needs twice daily charge just on idle.
Leave the machine on standby for a couple of days and see if there is a problem with the battery.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm currently at 2 days on this charge and still at 60% with 4 hours screen on time. Usually I get about a day and a half per charge by turning off WiFi when I'm not connected and having it turn off WiFi in sleep mode. I also don't keep auto brightness on, I adjust it myself. I find with auto my battery dies faster.

Agreed; i'm on aokp build 1 with no apparent bugs & awesome battery life. Seems much smoother than stock imo. I also had a couple of random reboots on stock, however have had none on build 1. All its missing is a bunch of rom control options that will no doubt come with future builds.

Hmm looks blurry if looking from mobile app. Works fine on computer browser. Anyways, the screenshot shows battery at like 4 days and 5 hrs. 5 and half hours of screen on time with 7 percent battery left(which will last a good bit still). So either something is wrong with your n7 or maybe custom roms and kernals make that much of a difference.

It may be an app keeping it awake to sync or something. If it's a repeated issue I always look at what was installed that is similar or any changes I've made that are common between both devices

Look at the battery info screens. (Settings > Battery) That should give you some idea what's using so much battery. For most of us, the screen seems to be the main thing. For you, you'll probably see something else.

I've ran a few other ROMs in the past, kaos droid being the last. I switched to aokp because of the android os was always so high and drained my battery very quickly, even when not in use.
Now I've come across the same problem with aokp v4. It didn't do this for about the month I've been running it, but the past few days it has kicked in.
Here's my graph:

Looking at that and JuiceDefender.
But Juice Defender hasn't been updated since January 2012... almost a year and a half. Not sure if it has full 4.0 support let alone 4.1 or 4.2... Snapdragon BatteryGuru seems updated regularly, last was May 30th this year just a little over a week ago.
unplugged around midnight last night, left alone for 11 hours then used. 11% loss in that 11 hours with only tibu running my nightly backup regiment.
rooted stock with battery guru 2nd day. added history details screenshot at 3%
Are you running greenify as well or just battery guru?

I found that running both at the same time drains my battery (personal experience) I only use Battery Guru. I posted my stats like a week ago on the Battery Guru thread I'm getting about 19 hours too..

actually click on the screen time percentage stat. it will then show you actual screen time. this is what folks are interested in.
I use battery monitor to give better stats
Maybe it will help you see witch battery saver works best for you. Nice info vs stock.

I got 1 day 12 hrs of battery life this weekend with like 2 h 30m on screen time with little high voice time. This phone definately has better battery then S3. I am on rooted Stock with no apps like Batteryguru or greenify. In normal day as well It last for 16-18hrs with my heavy use...very impressed.
Well this is using greenify and a tweaked faux kernel

My phone life varies, but screen time is almost always a little over 4 hours. Could be 15hrs, could be 1 day and 5 hrs. it really just comes down to screen time and have to consider video/music playback
Totally agree on the battery.. its awesome.. mine in attachment.
I have used a bit of everything including videos, lte, mininal talk and wifi
