For features PAC Rom as it has cherry picked features from Paranoid Android, AOKP and Cyangenmod but for stability and keeping good audio then the roms based on the GE, I have the full conversion which runs great but Android Revelation Google Edition also works really well from experience.
"Best ROM" threads are not allowed, just try them yourself, it's the easiest way

Is there any vanilla clean no features pure AOSP Roms for the g2 Verizon? I am interested in one. If not is there anyone that can build a Rom. I'm willing to donate for a pure AOSP Rom.

I have d801 and have been trying to find one as well for mine...would also donate if anyone knows how to build...
while there are no Vanilla one's per se... there are many great AOSP roms, mahdi rom for one is great and very stable. Just dont use any of the features it has and it will look like stock...

Yes I came from a nexus device and just loved rastakat vanilla builds. Perfect the way I like it. I tried to port myself the hammerhead AOSP Rom but it get bootloop. Don't know how to fix.

Your most vanilla aosp rom is going to be Paranoid Android. It is quite vanilla.
Omni and paranoid android.

Does Viper4Audio work with PA? Its kind of a hit or miss with the AOSP ROMs, so far it only works with CM after flashing a few of them.

I believe it did a while ago. However the main dev is on hiatus and the sources have changed some with the new guy. But, it may still work. Make a backup and give it a try.
There is also this AOKP by Rohan:

Hello,
I've recently read about AOSP and makes me want to replace TouchWiz, so I rooted my phone and the problem is how do I install a custom ROM? I've read that I need the ROM manager and it's at the application manager I think but I've found none so I googled it and seems like it's the app I've downloaded 4 years ago. Can you please give me the steps on how do yo Properly install a custom ROM and could you also please suggest what's the good or the best AOSP Rom?
Thanks!
You didn't really google because there are countless threads out here.
It's easy:
- Flash custom recovery
- Flash the rom you want.
There is no best aosp rom, try them out for yourself which one suits you.

Yeah, I didn't google enough
I was too tired to search google again
and as for that no best aosp rom.. Im asking your opinion, so for you there's nothing in mind that you like?
Personally, I would suggest you try one of the Google Play Edition based roms. They are more stable, as compared to the AOSP based ones. All the best, and Happy Flashing

Every aosp rom is based on Cyanogenmod. So then it comes down to a matter of personal preference. Just try them out for yourself and see which one suites you.

I'll try that. Installing Cyanogen is a pain in the ass
Not EVERY aosp rom Is based on CyanogenMod. SlimRoms and Pure AOSP are not based on CyanogenMod... though CyanogenMod is based on AOSP. I hope you get the drill
Why are not we seeing Oxygen OS based custom ROM development like those seen for Touchwiz etc? Till the time stable CM comes out for OP2, Oxygen isn't that bad. With xposed you can get enough features of CM. But the one thing where Oxygen lacks is that it doesn't have all the commits for proper functionality of RRO layers themes. May be developers can add those commits.

Still this does not answer the main question. Why there are no Oxygen based Roms? There are bunch of ToutchWiz or Sense based roms and they are really great, in some cases even better then CM,AOSP,AOKP .. like i had HTC One X, every Sense ROM had better camera performance and even battery life, sound quallity and so.. Like Android Revolution HD.

Because there are no oxygenos sources out there.
They've released only kernel sources, not ROM sources, like most OEMs do.

They might be ported ROMs, not ROMs built from source.

OXYGEN OS IS CLOSED SOURCE! GOOGLE IT, rather than start a thread.
I think those Samsung and sense roms are "kitchen" roms someone modified from stock firmware images, oneoplus hasn't release firmware images

After the April Fools prank (MOD), I started looking for an alternative to CM and I not found any pure AOSP.
I wonder how many people would like to have AOSP ROM?
Is there any developer willing to build for us? Thanks

Check out Exodus ROM. It's AOSP based and in the early stages of development, so it's fairly vanilla until now.

I found one ROM almost pure AOSP but dont have for our G2.
github.com/AOSPB
That plus CM device tree, I dont think it would be very difficult.
I would like to try, but I have an old PC.

Hey!
I was wondering which ROM available for lux isn't based on Cyanogenmod? With the current situation, I don't know if anything based on CM is good in the long run (although I may be wrong). Until LineageOS for lux comes out I'd like to try that.
Thanks

On the AOSP Extended ROM they thank Cyanogenmod. I thought that meant it was based on it.
I found no mention of CM on the Validus ROM. Is that one?

It's not based on CM, but it has features cherry-picked from CM sources. It's still an AOSP base though.

No. CM development has ceased but the team has moved on to create LineageOS, which is a fork of CM afaik. AOSP will never be in jeopardy in the foreseeable future as that is Android OS itself without google services.

Oh that's right! They can just use the updates from LineageOS to update the features they got from CM.
Thanks
In the meantime I've read that it's best not to use CM until LineageOS comes out (thus my question). Is that exaggerated?
