[REQ] CRT-Off Flashable - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Anyone have a CRT-Off flashable that will work with MF9 deodexed ROM? Thanks!! :good:

*Edit* Realized you said MF9, I was thinking MDL.

Anyone?! :/

Wow this thread is dead!!! That's to bad I'd love to see a crt effect zip on mf9. Let's see if we can resurrect this baby, and see if such a flashable zip exist or if possibly... someone would take on the project and make one ^_^

No worries im sure someone will make a flashable in time if at all and if not theres always other alternatives no crt is no biggie ,
as far as sacs rom hmm.. Ive been thinking about giveing it a go ive heard alot of good things about sacs rom. ill have to check it out when i have some time to flash over and get back my data. Are all the kinks worked out as far as picture messageing, texting, lte ect.? (i dont want to trouble you for a answer ill take a look at the thread)
I personally love the g.e rom thats tw based with the sammy cam but some things still need to be ironed out. I had problems downloading and sending picture messages and texting more tham a pg long message and lte connectivity but lte hasnt been implemented in my area so it wasnt a big deal to me. I actually think there was a work around or fix if i remeber correctly i half to re-read the forum and refresh myself a bit, but the pic msging and not being able to send more than a one pg msg was a deal breaker for me. but i would love go use it as my daily in the future.

[ROM] GRJ22 - 2.3.4 Stock Deodexed Root Simple

Hello all,
I was bored and decided to deodex the new OTA GRJ 2.3.4 build; kept it really simple...Stock, Root, ZipAligned....; Not many Apps and added some scripts, etc.
I was a HUGE fan of Master's Stock Deodexed GRI54 build...sort of the same thing minus the bloat and some added optimizations. Going to make the insecure boot.img and a build new kernel when work calms down a bit; would have posted in DEV Section but I don't have enough posts.
If anyone is interested or wants to check it out shoot me a message.
Yes I would like to have custom kernel with deodexed ROM. Hope that u can make it ASAP

Sure thing, again, my rom is really minimal as I don't run a lot of apps on my phone. You can try it out and if you want any others I can try to include them for you.
My phone is booting (first boot takes a bit longer) in about 3-4 seconds. I will try to get a link up soon

I should have a link posted tomorrow. I decided to make a new one that is 100% stock for everyone to add their own tweaks..still rooted and deodexed.

New Rom on rom manager (NoFrills-AOSP) anyone have any more details?

So I found NoFrills-AOSP and I downloaded it and so far its pretty nice, but there is like nothing about it anywhere. It looks like the guy took CM7 ripped the CM settings out and added the default launcher which honestly I dont mind at all because its pretty much perfect so far. I really just want to know who made it and to tell them thanks and that it would be great if they started a xda post for it because its an awesome rom.
found a thread on it. http://www.simply-android.com/discu...or-samsung-galaxy-s-vibrant-t959-082720011/p1
Awesome thanks!
The guy is Ngiordano.
He actually started work on CM7 for the Motorola Cliq.
The guy is awesome, anything he does is worth looking at.
And no im not one of his fanboys, i actually worked with him on building CM7 with him for a little
How's the battery life so far?
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
I have been at work all day so I only broke the phone out once during lunch so it has been going 19 hours so far with 65% battery left. So ya its pretty rockin on standby at least. Also extra sd card does not work which is kinda annoying and if anyone knows how to fix it please let me know!
holy hell, this thing is nice.
EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Just an AOSP 2.3.5 build for our phone.
This ROM has the GB bootloader/emmc mounting problem. Any word on if the dev is going to include the CM7 fix?
He said he's going to look into the problem today.

The camera needs some work.
If you have an FFC (like I do), to enable it don't forget to download the latest galaxysmtd build here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxysmtd
pull out /system/lib/libcamera.so
and then copy over the libcamera.so file as here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14464862&postcount=3365
Right now i'm seeing banding in the HD video and 4 of me in the FFC, but that seems to be the same problems going on in the CM7 thread, so who knows if/when that'll get fixed.
I heard 135 hours on the battery life
^ you heard bull****.
also screenshots please? but by the talks of it since its AOSP, the good ol' regular no themed GB right?

Here's the current download link from the original thread:
http://romshare.deployfu.com/downloads/636/747/NoFrills-AOSP.zip
gapps: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110810-signed.zip
I flashed this ROM and unfortunately did not ODIN the bootloader first, and now my phone is stuck in a perpetual boot screen. I can't seem to get back to Recovery or anything. Anyone else happen to do this or have a way to get back to Recovery?

Maps is killing my battery on MF9

I updated to MF9 last night, and while I love the smoothness of the rom, the battery life is not as good as MDL. For some reason, Maps is using a bunch more battery than it used to. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty sure the kernel isn't the same. After updating to the MF9 firmware, but before flashing the MF9 ROM and kernel, my wifi was broke and I believe mobile data as well. Wifi would turn off immediately when I tried to turn it on. But after flashing the ROM and kernel it worked flawlessly. This is the same as what people reported going to MDL. If the kernel didn't change at all then the MDL kernel would work with the MF9 firmware.

Kit Kat rom with stock notifications?

I rally love the LG UI for notifications and am looking for a kit kat based rom that still has that stock UI. Is that possible?
Sent from my VS980 4G
probably one of the only things I havent seen ported to kitkat roms that I really envy is the small drop down that occurs when a call comes in that doesnt change the entire phone over to the phone app. I kind of now dislike how it stops what you are doing to go to a call for stock android.

So, these are just every and all updated Google Apps from the Nexus 5? Is it common for folks to be installing these? I think I grabbed the latest gapps from the Gapps Manager app when I flashed CM11. Would I be better off with this package? I do like that Dialer popup notification on calls. Would I get that if I just flashed the dialer?

I'm not actually sure if it's part of the package or the Mahdi-rom I'm using.
But that Google package is the full Nexus 5 experience and I'm using it with that rom. It's excellent.

This has nothing to do with gapps!
It's a feature in Omni Rom called non intrusive call notifications (Click here!.
