[Q]Lock screen keypad color change? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Can someone help me regarding changeing the lock screen pin keypad color. I am using a hue red theme (kroz) on latest cyano.. It has a flashable lock screen zip.. It changes the lock icon color and everything else but it does not change the text color of the keys for pin unlock. The phone dialpad is modded in the theme though but not this one.
Will really appreaciate if anyone can help me regarding this..
Regards,
Andre

Guys anyone can tell me where I can find the editable xml... I have extracted both framework-res as well as systemui.. but dunno how to change the pin keypad color..

I don't know if this will help you out, because we have different devices, but I was looking for the same thing and found it. In my keyguard_screen_sim_pin_portrait_tel.xml, I found this line of code:
Code:
<include android:id="@id/keyPad" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_below="@id/topDisplayGroup" layout="@android:layout/twelve_key_entry" />
So I went and checked out layout/twelve_key_entry and added:
Code:
android:textColor="@android:color/black"
to every ID I saw.
Maybe there is another way to do this, but my solution worked out well for me. I hope it will work out for you too.

HTC Home Music Tab Font Color Change

I was looking for a solution to changing the font color on the HTC Home Music Tab to something other than the pastel blue.
I couldn't find a solution on this forum so I hacked it myself. I changed the font color from blue to white so it matches other themes better. It is only a hex change on six digits.
I am sharing this file in case anyone else want it as well. I also changed the progress bar color to green since the Diamond theme is all the rage nowadays. But the progress bar color is easy to change back.
The files came from HTC home version 2.1 build 1005722. I took it from one of PDAViet's newer WM6.1 rom for Hermes.
This is my very first hack and I only tested on my 8525. It is working fine. But please report back if anything is wrong.

The theme really is just Empex's diamond theme V2 together with tnyynt's HTC background. So the artwork credit belongs to them.
I added tweaks to it wrt MS application background color and command bar color.
There is a bug with my tweaks where if you boot up the device running my theme, the "start" text and the "time" on the top bar is missing. You can resolve this by switching to a standard theme and then switching back. I haven't really looked into what is causing this bug (hasn't bother me since I don't reboot that often) but if anyone knows why this is the case then please help me out here.

If it's only a six digits change, why would I have to install a 2,3 MB CAB file?

yes, it is only a six digit hex change on the main dll.
Problem is though there are so many versions of HTC home floating around, I don't want people to just download the dll and replace what they currently have. This may lead to compatibility issue.
Hi very good work but it may not help me because of the version. Could you write some tutorial about how to change? (I mean where inside the dll should I change) I would like to change the color of the weather tab and I could open the dll file by hex editor. Thx
@ Lolento can i ask what is the name of the dll file please as i would like to try other colours

Controlling the fonts of the TODAY screen

Is there a way to enlarge the fonts size and color of the Calendar events in the TODAY screen? The current font size is too small for me.
Yea, I have same problem, while TF3D , the calendar fonts are too small and gray (on the today screen) , I can read the time , but I can't read what I have in this meeting..
If I open calendar I can see it ofcorse.. ,
I saw some threads about fonts , but those change all the TF3D fonts, I would like to change only the Calendar fonts so I can read it like without TF3D on the Today screen .
In normal way without TF3D, the Today screen fonts using Sytem fonts which you can control the size by Text Size from screen control.
Seems like TF3D does'nt care about the Text Size from screen control , and it has his own wired small fonts...
I was hoping for a better answer, but found none over the web Can someone suggest a fix? I am convinced i am not the only one who is not happy with the current font size/color.

Ciao, Andrea
I've tried to edit the files contain Color and font size in manila
for example 209b5cdc_manila
just something like
<Style Name="BlueTheme_BlackColor">
<!-- Black -->
<Property Name="Color" Value="0, 0, 0, 255" />
</Style>
but no matter how hard I tried
nothings changed.
I think it might be set in other files .
These registries will have an impact only if you turn off the TFL3D.

Device Lock Keypad

Anyone has any idea how to change the look of this keypad for entering numerical pin after device lock ?
Even changing the ugly grey to some other colour would be good. Thanks.
The colour of the buttons follow the Today screen theme. (At least it did when I changed the theme in Spb Mobile Shell (not the panel one).)
I chose blue theme, and the buttons are now dark blue. That's all I know.
oh ok ... i think it does ...
i think i managed to get it to grey again ...
thanks a lot ...
anyone know how can i style it by replacing pictures or whatever, please let me know ...
i know you can change the colors in registry, refer to http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WindowsMobile5Colors, the value number that you may need to change is 8..dont know about changing the pictures on them. Hope that helps

[Q] [Solved] Change notification's background behind the buttons

I'm cooking framework-res.apk for my theme.
But I can't find the background of notification buttons(wifi,gps...).
I've been searching it for a period of time, but I just know the background file is in framework-res.apk...
I also take a look at all of the files in it, but I have no idea which one is the file...
Can someone tell me what is the name of the file...?
============================================================================
Updated - Thanks for clem_ita's help!
The settings of notification's background behind the buttons are in lge-res.apk.
The method to change its color:
1. Use apktool to decompile the lge-res.apk.
2. Go to res\layout and find "lge_status_bar_expanded.xml".
3. Open it with a text editor, and search for the string:
android:id="@id/quick_setting"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
4. You'll see something like this (In my Chinese lge-res.apk it shows like this):
android:background="#ffd0d0d0"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Just change the color in the quote.
5. Recompile it and replace the stock one with the modified one.
After reboot, you'll see the change.
[Sorry for my poor English]

Because I can't find it, so I just post here....
In your theme(DarkRoom), the notification background is changed...
Even though I extracted the framework-res.apk in your theme, I still couldn't find the image which looks like the background...
I have no idea either... I just used other frameworks as base for the theme...
I have not tested yet, but this backgroudn color should be set via a xml file in lge-res.apk
the xml file should be lge_status_bar_expanded.xml in the layout folder
(got this informations from save80 @ androidword.it forum.. cannot post the exact link as I am a new user)
You also have to change the buttons background using a photo editor software. Those aren't just xml's. With xml's you can change the colour behind the buttons, not the buttons backgrounds. I hope I made myself clear enough. If you need any further assistance, I am here to help.

My purpose is just to change the bg color behind buttons.
Anyway, thanks for your tips.

[Q] Custom Fonts in Apps

Ok, this is a development question
I have been developing themes for Go SMS Pro, and I am trying to add custom fonts to the remaining text that isn't as easy to change
For example:
I have this in the skins xml files
Code:
<TextView android:id="@id/sender_phone_num"
android:textColor="#332f33"/>
So I added this to my main package
Code:
TextView tv=(TextView)findViewById(R.id.sender_phone_num");
Typeface face=Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),
"fonts/nokiafc22.ttf");
tv.setTypeface(face);
and placed the font in the assets/fonts folder
I must be missing something, because the font isn't changing in app
Any suggestions?
Well, I had two issues when working with custom fonts:
1 - myfont.ttf is different by myfont.TTF. I had an error on 2.2. May attention to that;
2 - a guy sent to me a custom.ttf that was corrupted. I downloaded it again from the web and ìt worked.
Anyway, your code seems good to me.
Good luck!
