Hey, does the android update of the same brand (such as HTC, SE, LG etc.) and same model (such as Xperia PLAY, ARC, NEO etc.) vary from country to country?
What does it vary in?
And how do I know which version I am updating to?
I mean I bought this phone from Middle East, but right now I am in Pakistan (where the phone hasn't even launched probably). If I update using the PC suite or directly from the Market, which version would I be installing; the Middle Eastern or the Asian?
I am confused because of Android, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
u need to find what phone u got R800i/x i am assuming u got R800i .. if so u can install the Nordic FW 2.3.4
well people SE just confirmed they'll be working on ICS very soon, so this thread might be worth closing..

As you can see in the list, it's only out for 'Vodafone DE', not for other German customizations ('Generic DE', 'o2 DE' and 'Telekom.de DE'):
[INFO] Latest firmware version per customization (region/branding)

As Apollo89 told already ... vfd is the only Provider in Germany who has released it already. you can check it yourself, by following the link which has already been posted.
It's quite strange Vodafone has it before it is available for unbranded phones... But no, it is not out on my German xz. Just wait or flash another customization, have a look at the search if you want to.

ja hier -> Sony Xperia Z C6603_10.3.A.0.423_Vodafone DE.ftf
We noticed this already in previous updates.
Vodafone Germany is always fast ... also on Samsung devices.
The last Update was also on T-Mobile DE much faster than on unbranded Devices.
This should be a problem with the process at Sony or the country. Germany and UK are the last Countrys in their list to get the update. They never rollout an update on the same time world wide.
This can just be accidentally that Germany is one of the last countrys in Sonys Rollout-Policy or ...
- a question concerning patents
- other formulism (Regulation like FCC/IEC or what ever is needed to Import/Export the device with changed Software into that Country)
- Expiriences that people in some countrys are much more concerned about quality, so that some countrys might skip that update (i.e. other frequencys which doesn't work that good in that country or cause shorter batterie life, ...)
Also on Samsung Devices Germany is one of the last Countrys who is getting the Updates.
Will anyone be able to provide with the X Z official updates with regards to the names as well as the dates of official release.
I am in communication with their UK HQ regarding non-receipt of 4.2 as well as other other updates for UK unbranded users. I have searched the froum and found some updates but unable to find official release dates as well.
The ones I have found are
10.1.1.A.1.253
10.1.1.A.1.307
10.3.A.0.423
Can anyone confirm these are correct as well as provide with official release dates as well?
Many thanks
anyone please
well the firmware updates are correct ..
release dates i am not sure but u can check the PTCRB website as to when they were registered
They are correct + the latest update 10.3.1.A.0.244
Not sure about the release dates but at least 2 months late.

Its fine, I am running root and I always Trim but my BF has the same phone with same firmware unrooted and he hasn't complained yet
Well, I using 2degrees network and found this update few days ago, it's smoothly and faster of the camera app during launch. Telecome's rom got some icons that I not like to see so I just flash it at the begining. It will not break the warranty.

Yes while I did debloat, TRIM is a maintenance app for phones with solid state, it basically "defrags" your phone and can reduce some lag, look it up on the play store FSTrim, it requires root and it's good, i always run it after installing a new rom and i never get lag

I found this ROM to be perfect. You will need to flash an old kernel to root then reflash the current kernel. But it's great.
