Rooted, unlocked bootloader, TWRP, AOKP. (Never sure what information is pertinent). With that said, which is the best camera that we can download and use on our phones? I heard the Galaxy S4 cam is nice. Could somebody link me to the apk if they have a recommendation? Or.. is the AOKP (or 4.2.2) cam as good as it's gonna get? If this has been discussed and I'm blind to that thread, my apologies.

I have been looking for one aslo. The stock 4.1.2 camera HDR was great. The 4.2.2 stock app is horrible for HDR.

I noticed that the cam I am using is terrible with HDR. And that was my a mode when I was running 4.1.1. I though I was just doing something wrong. Can the 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 cam app be used with 4.2.2? Wouldn't mind either that or going to a better camera.

Casual root doesn't work on this edition? Is that a touchwiz only root method or something?
So motochopper root method does not work?
Has anyone tried mobile Odin with everoot?

I thought there was a post about 4.3 from the Google Play edition already being ported to the I337?
I have SuperSU installed, I will try a root explorer to check out if it actually works.
On another note, does anyone know how to get to the app switcher? it seems to be removed from the home button.
EDIT: SuperSU does not work at all, still no way to root. I read that it was due to binaries needing to be updated for the new version.

I will check it out in a moment to confirm if that is how it is done!
EDIT: Confirmed!
I'm seeing the ROMs for the I9505, can that one be flashed or is there one specifically for I337 yet? As well, right now I have the KT-SGS4-TW Loki'd kernel with the 4.2 GE ROM on it, would I just be able to flash the 4.3 over that, or should a different kernel be used? And finally, more of a beginner question, loosing root won't mess with the custom recovery, will it? I'll still be able to access TWRP to flash something different?
The 4.3 download named "Android-4.3-I9505GUEUBMFP-Deodexed-I9505.zip" appears malicious <-- my pc says this is malicious. can anyone else confirm this is a safe download. this is from the "ATT-sgh-i337 android development" section of this forum. Thx in advance. yes I know it says "I9505GUEUBMFP". Which is why i posted what forum topic its from.

Looking to flash stock 4.2.2 with 3.4 faux kernal and stock modem, rooted and TWP recovery --> 4.4.2 and enable LTE.
As you can see I have been out of this game for a long time now, I tried searching to no avail. Not many people flashing from 4.2.2.
If you can point me in the right directions on how to flash to 4.4.2 and enable LTE, I would really appreciate it!!!
Thank you and happy holidays!
anyone?
Thanks!
sorry, double post
I'm pretty new to the rooting scene. Would love to learn how to flash from stock 4.2.2 also. I have bought the ulefone u650 because of its impressive specs but I feel the offerings of the os is somewhat too basic.

You may have better luck posing in u650's forum, this is for Nexus 4 devices.
Good luck
If you are rooted use goo to flash latest TWR. Flash a rooted version of 4.2 Flash faux 123s kernel. You won't get a stock radio with lte as they are hybrid. If that is OK flash that. I'd also flash the su update as well. Can't see your problem

I am attempting to root my old XT907 before I give it to a friend and I am somewhat confused on which software versions Cyanogenmod works with. The Razr M I have is at system version 98.16.3 with the option to upgrade to 98.30.1. The build number is 9.8.1Q-78-1. The Cyanogenmod wiki says that Cyanogenmod can only be accomplished on firmware versions prior to 9.20.1, but there are also articles saying that the phone can not be rooted on Android 4.1.2 (which I currently have). Should I update to 98.30.1 or stay at the current version?
EDIT: I am familiar with the overall root and custom ROM process, but I only have experience with Samsungs so far (I have rooted and put CM on a Fascinate and a GS3). I have worked with Odin, adb, CWM, and TWRP, but not SafeStrap or some of the other non-Samsung utilities, so please excuse my illiteracy concerning Motorola rooting and custom ROMs.
According to CM's wiki, CM is only compatible with an unlocked bootloader. So, if you haven't unlocked your bootloader, you won't be able to use it, even with SafeStrap. CM's compatibility is not based off system version, it's based off the system versions that allowed us to unlock the BL. 98.16.3 is the version that locked the bootloader. You can root on your current version and on the newest OTA, but you will only be able to use SafeStrap to load a very narrow selection of SafeStrap compatible ROMs.
So there is no way to unlock the bootloader on 98.16.3 or 98.30.1?

Correct, although with the previous post being mentioned, you can safestrap and get cm10. When I ran cm10 on my end, it had only one issue that I know of which was the camera .

I think there was one, but no one can dig it up. The camera issue is caused by kernel incompatibility.

Why do you not up load & post your ss version of cm to maybe the original thread? A cam could be found to work ? No? Btw, Mega is very good now.

Hi! I'm new to these forums and customizing my S4 in general, but i think im getting the hang of it.
So basically right now im running cyanogenmod 10.2 (with clockworkmod 6.0.4.7) and i was wondering
if there is a way to keep the camera from the stock firmware? I was thinking going back to stock jelly bean,
backing up the camera app (with titanium backup) and then restoring it once i installed cm10.2 again.
If this way doesnt work, can you tell me one that does? If one exists, of course.
Thanks
No you can not do that. The TouchWiz camera is specifically for TouchWiz, it's deeply embedded and no way of making it work on any other rom.

Looking for a TWRP flashable Stock OF1 5.0 rom for 900V?
Odin isn't available to me working on the road without a laptop for a fee weeks.
Currently running Teamsek CM13.0 6.0 I like it but bluetooth calls and Camera both still have some big bugs I need to revert back. Luckily I did make back-ups using TWRP but those sometimes fail and would like to try with maybe a stock version that's been odexed or debloated?

From what I seen @donc113 I would still need to Odin the modem?
Or am i wrong?
This Teamasek CM13 im currently running now is so so close to being a daily driver. Just a couple things are killing the vibe 1 being camera is temperamental. 2 bluetooth instability
Other than that it absolutely rocks!

@donc113 you on developer edition also after unlock?
And are you running the Lean Kernel?
Installed lean kernel with Jasmine as suggested on intial flash working like a charm definitely better than stock 5.0 with features recorder built in, with SU and Hotspot work around, no more need for Foxfi I'm digging it!
Thanks for the suggestion Donc was hesitant of Jasmine on my Note 3 because of the troubles it was to get on my Note 2 when multisystem needed to be used etc.
So yeah any 900v user using stock with TWRP definitely flash jasmine w/lean kernel is working solid!
Still looking forward to new release of CM 13 just cause its so pretty! hope development continues, amazing to see the activity for Roms on the HLTE but not HLTEVZW would love to see more for us now that flashing is back ?

I'm also on the trader418 CM13 6.0 and I haven't had any issues with the camera at all...none that I've noticed yet. I've also used different cameras and all seem fine to me taking pictures and recording video....Google Camera, stock Cyanogenmod camera, Manual Camera, Camera FV-5, and Open Camera. The only time I've noticed any issues is when recording in 4k..it's very stuttery and a waste of time to even attempt a recording in 4k. Just curious, what issues do you have with the camera and which camera app(s) specifically?

Using stock camera app. Was very slugish when it did work. Say I'd take a picture in messenger or any other app than try to goto the camera app from the app drawer I was getting force closes and popups saying camera is currently in use or unavailable. Then eventually get the camera has crashed would you like to wait, report or close. I'd need to do a device restart to use camera.
Maybe it was just me that experienced it. I should have maybe tried another clean install. But I also had Bluetooth troubles devices wouldn't connect twice. I had to unpair and repair whenever I was using bluetooth headset or vehicle. And mentally and I was ready to revert back or try something else. But you saying this makes me want to give it another go. But I'll wait after spending all afternoon setting Jasmine up to my likes.

Yes, unlocked (developer). I am using idle kernel.. Which is an offshoot of lean kernel (3.4.111) for me, it gets me a little better battery life, maybe 15 to 20 minutes extra before I need to charge.
