[Q] Need Help Choosing Rom - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello XDA,
Making my first post. Finally made the switch from iPhone to S4. Loving it so far. I just rooted my device, now I am looking all these roms. I am overwhelmed at the moment.
1.) Which is the best rom currently for the ATT S4?
2.) What is the difference between Android development roms vs Original development?
3) Any recommendations on screen shields? I am looking at the Spigen Glas.T Nano.

1. There is no best, they all are for the members using them. No one can tell you what is best for YOU. FYI any "BEST" thread is automatically closed on XDA, members are expected to experience for themself.
2. Read the sticky in Original Development section

Hi, I'm Kenny and I like long walks on the beach......what? Oh, it's not that kind of intro? Oh OK.
Well hi all I have the distinct honor of sharing the Moderator roll here and hope to help keep this new forum fun for all.
I am honored to be your Friendly Neighborhood Moderator.
To keep me friendly though please do not get into flaming matches. If someone is disrespectful please mash the report button rather than engage them further. In other words don't feed the trolls.
Also please post questions in Q&A. Those are the biggies.
I have put out a few themes and ROMs for the Epic 4G so know what it is like from the developer side. So please respect the developers. Without them xda-developers would be xda-facebook or something.
Thank you all!

Just give Chainfire or some other developer some time to root this device. As it's Samsung, rooting it shouldn't be too difficult (I guess )
And yes, you can buy SIII Mini almost everywhere.
I was wondering if the rooting will allow cell unlock.
I am asking this to know what to do: wait for root or go to a Samsung service for cell unlock.
root will not unlock the device, but I wish some great devs will developing for this S3 mini, wich is a very great phone imho
Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm graffixnyc and I have recently been assigned to help moderate the forum. If you guys have any issues please do not hesitate to let me know. As always, please follow the rules and treat each other with respect.
as much as i would like to believe that the rules follow some logical flow and understanding and are in place due to experience and historical events that have taken place on the XDA forums
i have a small issue with the rule of not being able to post in the developer section until having made 10 posts
from my experience in doing some small dev work i would not want to be harassed directly for help with a solution that i provided
i would not want to be getting several PM's asking the same question from several different people all because they were not able to post their question on the thread where i provided the solution
since we are unable to post in a thread our questions or suggestions that leaves only one place to be able to post, the Q&A section
leading to the risk of multiple duplicate posts and resulting in more work for the moderators to clean up
what would be the correct way to get around this issue whilst still following the rules?

[Q] [KERNEL] the best kernel galaxy young

what is the best kernel?
Optimus prime kernel.....its one of the best for this device.
Thread closed.
There really isn't any point creating these 'best rom/kernel' threads. You're basically asking 'what's your favourite rom/kernel' You're asking for opinions, they vary from person to person.
Have a look in Android development sections (don't post!) and check the changelogs and see which offers the features you desire and make your mind up there search is your friend.
Can all members refrain from creating these sort of threads, thank you.
Thanks

Quick question

Where would I go for US Cellular GS4 development?

Since the Verizon was the closest S3 brother I would assume the same would be for the S4. You may have to wait a few weeks for Verizon to release theirs and a forum to open up. Otherwise the general Android section until then.
I have also seen some US Cellular posts and rooting in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248

[QUESTION] Galaxy S4 GE T-Mobile ROMs..

Hey! This is my first post on XDA. Nice to be with you all.
I was wondering if it was possible to load the T-Mobile SGH-M919 ROMs on the unlocked Galaxy S4 Google Edition without a problem (like data not working)
Please refrain from yelling at me for wanting to do this.. lol.. but I'm switching to T-Mobile and to me it seems like it would be more work for devs to develop for an entire new Galaxy S4 variant. So would the SGH-M919 ROMs work on it flawlessly?
Thanks guys, I look forward to a great time with you all.
Bump..
Do you bump on XDA?
I'm not sure...
As far as I am aware, it would not be flawless. I'm fairly sure there will at least be issues with data.
Not sure that phone hasn't lanched yet. I say there is a 89 % chance.

And in those rules you will see that after you posted your question in the correct forum you are only allowed one bump each 24 hours.
Thanks

What scares me about Stock is... What scares you?

I remember I ran stock on my Note 2 for a few days and I hated the GPS or some symbol ALWAYS in the notification bar and ridiculous WiFi reminders. Other than those 2 things I think I can live with stick for awhile. Anyway to get rid of my 2 complaints without root? Thanks!
Yes, there are a few things that will be hard to adjust to ... For sure the two you mentioned! I remembered about the WiFi nag, but completely forgot about that GPS "eye"!
I agree it'll be rough running stock until the wonderful devs figure this new device out! I'm hopeful for at least root early off because I can't see running without LMT or AdAway for very long LOL

I'm hoping one can still remove the persistent wifi notification by the long press which works on the Note 2. And it would sure be a great surprise if Verizon removed that very annoying GPS/location eye. Regardless, I'll be staying stock.

Device Q&A typically refers to informative questions that a person considers important and needs an answer for it. This original post, while indeed a question by grammatical definition, is more idle banter, a general discussion of sorts.

Please reread the OP. It contains this request for technical information "Anyway to get rid of my 2 complaints without root?"
And forum rule 15 states:
General Forums - For news and announcements relating to your device.
Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forums - For all question threads / posts. If there is no Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forum use the device General Forum
If you have any issue with a moderator action, please take it to PMs.
Highlighted that as apparently some people missed this^^^^^^^^^^ My PM "door" is always open.
