Hi everyone, I'm new here but i'm using this board for my android phones for many time now, and I come up with an question, is cal recording suppported in S4 Google Edition ? I'm currently using an Rom based on S4 Google Edition and it doesn't have this feature that come with other 4.2.2 Roms.
If anyone can help me with this question I'm thankfull since I really use call recording on my everyday calls.. (The rom I'm using is Google Edition V5 with 4.2.2)
Thanks
I am also interested in registering edition based on google .. if someone finds a solution .. thank you all!
I am using an app called record my call.. Utan free on the market and works like a charm.

Works like a charm on the Google Edition ROM? I doubt it... If it does then you can get $100

No idea of that.. I ment generally s4.. If it's the same hardware, why would it not work?

Nopes, doesn't work on AOSP, AOKP, CM roms. Unfortunately, I've learn to live with it
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
But does it work on Google vanilla? Without custom roms?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It seems call recording does not work with GE rom. On the other hand it works like a charm with the Samsung standard rom.
What do we know about other roms? Is there any custom rom with 2-way recording support?

Does anyone know of an IR app that will work other than the LG one ? Im running CM but I would love to have the remote function back. Thank you
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk
IR is not just an app. It needs to be supported in the framework first.

I'm wondering about this too. Would Unified Remote work since it has IR functions now? I may just buy it and check because it's a great app regardless but if anyone knows of an alternative that does work with CyanogenMod I'd like to hear about it.

Read above, no IR app is going to work on any AOSP ROM at this point.
That's unfortunate. Back to stock I go then.

Doesn't the HTC One Google play edition have an IR remote app? (that is a question. I don't know)
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The HTC One Google Play edition does have an IR blaster app, but as stated previously no app can fix this - it is something that needs to be added into CM first.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy I used this with sgs4, it's not compatible with LG g2, but developer said they working on it

Hi everbody
How can I run IR in AOSP ROMs
I tried all the roms every thing OK accept IR not .
Also I tried most of IR apps but all not working.
Can anyone explan how to use it.
Thank u

Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The only thing I can suggest is aosp doesn't have drivers/libs/framework for IR support.
Correct me if this isn't totally correct but as I see it, Aosp is basically the bare bones android without all the bells and whistles that official Samsung TW rom hence why IR doesn't work.

Why don't you search it yourself instead of demanding? It takes only a few mins to do so.

I want phone function in tablet z. Z2 have it. Can we do something for make Gsm call without Skype viber voip and etc. Just phone.......
No, because the hardware simply does not support it. That's it.
Actually, i think it's only a software limitation. I managed to make my nexus 7 to have a dialpad with USSD support!

That might be the case. I'm not 100% sure now... But I think the N7 has the needed hardware, just not the needed software.

How detect, is this hardware or software limitation?
Now my xperia tablet x (321) is rooted and I use cyanogenmod 11.
Already installed dialer from Google play.
When I trying make voice dial, I getting message: voice dial not supported.
But why... If device can send\recive SMS messages. Can use 3g network... Why can not just voice dial.
I think that if radio has 3g support, the device has voice dial support, but there can be only software limitations.
I trying change baseband, I think it can help... But after change radio don't work ?
Can anyone help me make voice dial?
If it is hardware limitation, what I must change there to get support voice call....
Check this out! This is how it is done in my nexus 7. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562026
I haven't tried it on tablet Z though. I think a port of telephonyprovider.apk and phonebook.apk from xperia Z2 tablet might works.

great! can you add tutorial how to do it for xperia tablet z. I do not understand and getting same error (voice dial not supported)...
p.s. can it make normal voice call?
Right now dialpad appears but u can only use USSD! I am trying to do something to make voice call works too.
I don't know if this will work on ur CM rom. But u can try. If u're rooted:
1. Install Xposed Framework - google it
2. Install KK SMS+Tether module - http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.makuser.nexussms
3. Active the module and reboot

Are you looking for touchwiz roms or for aosp roms?
In touchwiz roms, you could use the xposed module wanam. If i remember correctly, wanam includes call recording. All you need is a rooted rom running touchwiz.
Aosp

Temasek's ROM may have it, have a look in the dev sections and read the OP of the AOSP ROMS it'll tell you there whether a ROM has call recording.
OT: Not sure I understand why people are so into call recording? I have never used it myself, never seen the need..
Ok thanks..wil check and report
