From what I've seen around here today, it looks like these types of discussions are supposed to happen in this consolidated thread:

Switzerland is outside the European Union, so I don't care
Seriously though, it's good that HTC is rolling out more updates

Can somebody suggest where I can get the official ROMs especially european ROM since I see lots of asian firmwares being upgraded to European firmwares in many threads in this forum.
Also I want to how I can change the firmware to these european FW without rooting. Somebody please suggest step by step directions please.
I am having a singtel fw and need to remove the singtel animation at startup and my ver number is JE9 as I see most of the people are using JF versions which seem to be more recent than what I have.
And after changing it I should still be able to upgrade to froyo officially when it releases.
thanks
Sany

The site is not an official Samsung's sponsor site, but the ROMs are official. Though, from what I have learned, not all the official ROM can be found there.
The only official EU rom at this time is JF3 and they just posted that today. Official means released by samsung. No one has clarified who/what samsung-firmwares.com really is but those newer roms are definitely not official. This doesn't mean they aren't great especially since now we can flash back to the stock firmware if we need it for warranty purposes.

They are not officially available to the public so there's nothing official about them. If I assume that they are the same files used when flashing the phones that are distributed around the world I guess they could be called "shipping" ROMs, but that doesn't make them more official than the updates.

It is "official" enough for me. When used the ROM found at their site, I manage to restore SGS to default and initial state. It even comes with all the customisations that are specially designed for the local operator I subscribed to. I don't really want to know nor do I care how the owner of the site manage to access these ROM files.
They just posted this on twitter:
Our firmwares are official but samsung drops only some online in kies.

We need wait from Samsung though...
At least this clear out some misinformation regarding the ROM files at their site.
I am getting more confused now:
What are 'stock ROMs' then and what are those that are called 'official ROMs' if samsung has not released them or posted them and where are these sourced from.
My fw is JE9 asian, although I can see that it looks old when I see JF4 already being talked about, dont know how this supercedes my JE9 when samsung has not released an update? And I dont want to risk flashing those different so called official ROMs if samsung tomorrow devices some way of tracking that these are ROM that did not ship with the device and not allow me to upgrade to froyo - so i think i will rather wait.

I couldn't see ANY differences what so ever between KK1 and KJ3.
Battery life was VERY similar.
No heat issues.
No display issues.
All in all, it felt very much the same.
Apart from the T-Mobile ****e of course
No haven't tried them myself but I check the download stats and they have been downloaded a lot so I assume people have flashed them. I can't recall anyone posting anything, good or bad, about them on here so that usually means there isn't much wrong with them.
I've never flashed a carrier firmware to my device anyway.
samfirmware is now pushing tons of new (branded) firmwares. some even KG... wtf unfortunately no xxkk until now
I checked on the server and there is a bunch of I9100G firmwares that have been released. These are not compatible with the normal I9100 devices.
is it true?

Yes, apparently a few people have started receiving the OTA update although I think it is only for region 401 (WWE Europe) for now and even then only in limited numbers. There are also some custom roms in the dev section which have used a leaked final version of the 4.2.2 rom
Has anyone here received the OTA update yet?
Nothing ... CID 032 , unbranded !

Do HTC Elevate members still get updates pushed sooner or is that no longer the case ? ? Anybody know what the story is there ? ? Thanks.

Believe me you are probably much better off having an HTC__Y13 than HTC__F08 (HTC Denmark) as your chances or getting updates sooner are much better being linked to the WWE Europe version.
What about the j15 version ? It gets the update months after the wwe version right ?

The OTA was released yet for this model. You either have to wait or change the phone model, something that I personally do not recommend. Continue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305490&page=169

HEY,
HTC__044 is PN0711000
Thats why i am asking!!!
EDIT
i am so sorry
my fault
HTC__044 is PN0714000 right??
sorry
Yeeeah. Updated. Everything seems faster. First time getting an official OTA. Usually root the minute I lay my hands on the phone. Worth the wait... till Butterfly S comes.
If this topic goes like the general chat "I changed this CID and have model whatever and can't I don't know what... ", we can be sure it will be closed. How about leaving this one to people that are just waiting for the OTA without fumbling around?

Stop opening this useless threads. There is nothing in this thread that warrants it's existence. So please move this smalltalk to the One General thread that is stickied.
And: NO! Not even there we neep people just posting that they have gotten the OTA and are updating now... Or that they are waiting for that update....
