Undocumented APIs - Java for Android App Development

I find that Inter Activity Communication to create alarm in android system clock app from our app is not applicable for gingerbread version but from ICS onwards according to google.
How come android virtual assistant app from playstore was able to create alarm in my GB version on system clock app when I said "Create alarm at 8 30 AM"?
What workaround they could use?

Official XDA Developers Android App

If you don't know ... here is the official XDA Developers Android app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657860
It is very nice app to browse and interact with XDA dev forums.
Created by TapaTalk (Thanks for this!).
Thanks for the heads up!
really nice the only thing that annoys me that sometimes you cant click on a link
What I miss is that I can't go directly into specific forum (like HTC Desire). Or is it actually possible, but I just don't see how?
Yupe, that feature is missing ... they said that they will add it.
Hopefully very soon.
Oh btw, I like this app because it is "AMOLED friendly" app
The background is black! Save battery a lot compare to using web browser.

[Q] How do I change provider name on lock screen.

Can anyone give me pointers on what I should use or do to change the name of my phone provider that shows up on the basic lock screen? Sprint for instance? I know certain theme-rs do this. Emotionless Beast is an example of what I'm talking about. Any thoughts?
I posted a how to. I can't link to it from my phone

I looked through about 6 or 7 pages of your recent posts and I'm still not seeing it. If you could post a link when you have the time I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advanced.
It's in themes and apps I think, the search button is your friend.

Gotta love people who use the old "the search button is your friend" line instead of offering help. You would think someone who has been on this site since 2007 such as I would know how to use a search function, would you not? I mean come on man.
Does anyone have any key words they might suggest searching for since everything I have searched for is bringing up nothing. Thanks again (all who are helpful anyway)
I too would love some help as I need to flaunt the cricket

Can't use search if it's down.

Hey man thanks greatly for the link to the answer to my original question but more importantly for shedding some light on how to search for the "threads started by X user" info. Greatly appreciated. I'll utilize the hell out of that in the future. Also thank you for being so humble and so helpful.

Just to add to this. You'll find it under ROM Management then under Nightlies.
It's the .6 build. It appears to still have some Blur in it, like the T9 Dialer, which I'm very happy about.
I don't see a way to change the skin at this time from the Yellow to something else though.
Their app. Learn to google please
Actually they said they'll start releasing it on the forums more promptly as well. The plan is to get v0.6 out today while v0.7 gets into the nightlies.
So you have two options:
- get their toolbox and access to the nightlies as soon as they become available
- or follow the forums and get the builds a few days after they are released in the toolbox

Really?! You don't think that was rude, not to mention unnecessary?
I agree with JMoney... google is a very very very good place to go to get answers that probably have already be answered here many times over.

No actually I think it was quite necessary. Almost no droid x roms are hosted here. If people could search before posting here a lot of questions could be easily answered without making a new thread

Thanks Pzyborg!
The truth is that I did search for the answer on google and on the forums... maybe I didn't do that well of a job since mister smartass (jMoney) thinks it was so obvious, but apparently I wasn't the only one either that had the same question.... but in any event thanks to the people who were useful by answering my question and helping make this a great website

Yes, it is really nice to have liberty toolbox, however, after you have installed GB you cannot open it -- also if you could open it - how did you do it?
Thank you.

Help Threaded call logs

I'm looking for something like in the iPhone where you press on call log and all the numbers are threaded.
For example if I had 10 calls all from one number on the S2 they all show up as different logs but on other phones, it would show up as one number in the call log and you can just press on the number to see all the calls to/from that number.
Hi. I too was looking for something like you have suggested. The best app i have found so far is Call History by developer XHeng. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Regards, Scott.

If you just click on one log then a threaded detailed view appears!

No need for an app to do it, unless I'm not understanding the OP's question.

Go to http://lmgtfy.com/ and enter your keywords. Then click on search and it will create your link.
Well, I never read Head First Android Development, I read Head First Java. So I have always recommended the Java book, not the Android one. (That doesn't mean that it is bad. The concept should be the same. )
Do you like it?
