Can the s4 active be unlocked with the service mode menu?
anyone knows?
Seriously, you guys need to add your device to your user profile. Going to be hard to get help otherwise.

If you read the title of the thread you can clearly see that im asking for the s4 active, thanks.
Been trying to do this using the servicemode method everyone is describing for the S4.
Phone will not go into the UMTS menu mode as described.
Some have said that a recent update killed this method?
Yes. I cannot get into the service mode. The phone reboots.

Okay so I have this metro card from Taiwan and whenever I place it against the back of my phone or if I rub it against my phone while my phone is on and unlocked my phone gives a little chime does anyone know what it exactly is and how to disable it?
Just to clarify the metro card is like a little sensor that you place on a small pad not a typical credit card no stripes the whole thing is basically a sensor
I was going to upload a picture but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment

Most likely the NFC chime.

Oh, and to disable NFC go to settings - wireless and networks - more - uncheck NFC.

Hi All,
I have noticed that the vibrating function is too weak and also on a Custom Rom.
Does anyone have a fix to this?
Most custom kernels can increase the vibrate strength, not sure if you can do it on stock kernel.

currently running Jellybear ROM
I agree, I miss 90% of my notifications while on vibrate so I've started just leaving the volume really low so I can barely hear notifications. This is about my only complaint with the phone and easily something I can live with.
Download Trickster Mod and see if there is an option on there to increase it. Easy way to see if your kernel supports it.

Thanks will try changing it there and see if it works
The N4 and the GN both use linear oscillator vibration motors, which are less violent and noisy than the rotating out of balance weight design that that older phones (and the iPhone 2G/3/3G/3GS/5) use.
Did this work? Rooted or unrooted?

Works for me. You have to be rooted for it to work.

I'm trying to make a profile where my bluetooth will turn itself off, if music isn't playing for 2 minutes. Any idea how I would do about setting this up?

I'm not sure what I did, but after rooting my Galaxy S4 I now have a circle with a line through it, and no bars 3g/4g icons show up.
I've updated PRL/Profile several times, and still nothing.
I think its my APN settings, how do I get new APN settings?

Btw try this code in the dialer pad. It should clear up your everything and reactivate your phone with sprint. ##72786#

Thanks, using the dialer got it working. I was about to take it to sprint.
I rooted myself using Odin 1.87
Roam control has been updated for the Nexus 5. This is probably more targeted for those who are using sprint. I'd just thought I'd share.
My reason for roam control is because I can't obtain any service at work and roam forces me on Verizon when I need it most good stuff!

I just purchased Roam Control and it doesn't seem to be working for me on my Sprint Nexus 5.. I'm wondering if others have had any success with this? Hm could it have anything to do with me running Cataclysm ROM.
Praise be to Roam Control. Battery gets hammered for me at work this always helped out tons on my old phone. Fully functional for me on Sprint.

So I did get it working. When my phone is on LTE, it refuses to force roam. But after I set my phone to use 3G, it does switch over to Verizon roaming.
But my roaming download speeds are very, very slow... With a Galaxy S4, I was able to directly switch to a Verizon PRL which gave me speedy Verizon 3G..
I'm having trouble getting Roam Control to work on CM11. It worked fine on stock, but on every CM11 nightly I've tried it on it seems to not want to stick on roaming. Anyone else having this problem?

It should still roam for voice, even if you're connected to sprint lte

You don't even need roam control. if you know how to get into the "phone info" menu (Nova shortcut) then on the overscroll menu select radio bands. Put it on 800 mHz and you'll be roaming

I don't want to use a nova shortcut. I want to press the "Roam" button on the widget and start roaming!

Good for you for not wanting a viable always working alternative
And I'm pretty sure vzw doesn't use band class 10 so that's a moot point
When I played with the band settings on my photon q to force roaming it seemed to bork the phone's ability to connect to 1x800 on Sprint, so i'm a little leery about messing with them again. But thanks for kind of helping in this roam control thread.
I emailed the dev.. Will report back if I get a response.

How do you get to the "phone info" menu? Isn't Nova a launcher?
What a bummer. Only for Sprint phones. I need something like this to force my tmo to roam on att when I know it's there
