None of the recoveries or ROMs for the i9505 or i9500 work on the google edition galaxy s4 (i9505G).
This has caused a lot of people to brick their devices. The reason the recoveries and Roms don't work is because the partitioning is completely different on the Google edition.
Moderators or Admins could you please consider adding a separate forum or subforum for the galaxy s4 Google edition?

Agreed. I sent a PM to three forum admin a few days ago and he said he'd pass the request along but couldn't guarantee anything. Hopefully they do this for us as it's frustrating and confusing for an i9505G owner.

I am buting either i5500 or i5502 ( the duos vession) , but I need to know the following:
1- Is either of them is made in China ?
2- If one of the is, wud I have a problem with connecting ti googleplay ?
3- Wud I be able to find and use the arabic language ?
4- Wud the china made one, be lacking any features or performance ?

I can hardly find any solution to my almost-bricked i9505G...it's different from i9505. I tried TWRP recovery but it doesn't work.

You can try asking the dev if he could port it to the s4.. ooor you can try to look for alternative ROMs, there are lots of cool ROMs cookin in here

is there anyway you can flash the stock image and recovery from a GE s4 onto to standard s4? so will pick up updaes etc..?
see this done on HTC One... wondered if it can be done? or does it have to be via a Rom?

Not yet. Bootloader needs to be unlocked to transform S4 in S4G
Not possible at the moment, you can have the google edition roms though but again no OTA's and same partition sizes

Really a little confused about this answers...
We all can flash a custom recover on the S4's, previously rooted, so this by reading some explanations on XDA:

Hi ive had a look but cant seem to find what im looking for. I have a 19505 and im looking for the stock google edition that will get updates as they are released without having to go into recovery etc. Is there such a rom out there?

I'd like to know this too. It seems odd to me there isn't a simple way of converting a normal S4 to a Google Edition version...
I would love to know some info about that too.
You can't convert s4 into a gpe this has been answered already. .... partitions are different and if you try to change s4 partition you'll Brick your phone... We know it's same hardware but just Google and you'll see why it can't be done ...

1. Why is this in themes and apps? Its all redundant anyway but in far wrong section
2. Flash any aosp/aokp ROM. Same thing. Read these forums, there's an actual play edition ROM, FOR THE I337! Read the thread and it'll say if its compatible
