I done a couple of Google searches and can't find anything to really help me. I don't know if this has been asked before or not? But I'm coming from an iPhone where when I had my phone locked I could double click the home button and change the song. Is there anyway I can do that with the s4? And also I ran the iOS 7 beta before I got this phone and they had an option where I could swipe up and the control center would pop-up and it'll have a bunch of random things and I could change the song. I've seen something like that for android but only thing missing was to change the music. I hate unlocking my phone and going back to the app just to change the song and I don't want to use s-voice to change it.

That, plus it should or can be enabled in the notifications pulldown. I'm in the same boat, just sold my I5 for a galaxy s4. New to Android.. love it. The fact that the whole market is basically what cydia was is awesome, but it's hard to find some of the features I was used to with activator and sbsettings.. In nX (nottach xposed) or 3minit Framework, the options to longpress volume toggle track skipping is available.. but I can't seem to get it to work for my I337. It is there though, most options are compatible if you're ATT as well. Worth a try.
I don't have any music on my phone I just use the unlimited Pandora which I used on a jail broken iPhone will it be able to control Pandora? I just hate having a widget on the lock screen besides the date and time. I know I'm difficult. Well I found this app on the play store “widgetlocker lock screen” but its for 2.99 I'll have to find a free alternative for the time being.

You can change songs using the notification bar. Even if the notification bar is hidden you can make it appear by doing a swipe down gesture from the top of the screen.
Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I guess since I'm using the older version of Pandora its not letting me swipe down to show controls.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
I have full access to Pandora from my lockscreen. Take off any pattern/pin/face unlock you have on your lockscreen and the Pandora controls should show there.
Simple fix uninstall ur hacked/ warez version of Pandora and install the legal version from the any store and it will work fine and have all the options

Try draging down with the pandora player in the notification panel.

I'm not going to give Pandora anymore of my money. When I was on my iPhone they had me upgrade to pandora one for $3.99/month which i did for a year and it was like I could “listen to music unlimited“ well once I skipped 6 songs it said you reached your limit you can't skip anymore songs for an hour after I paid money for it! Not doing that ever again.

Never going to happen, sky's inbuilt protection is ridiculously good now. We cannot even edit the app anymore as it does a server side check for a particular signature.

So were gonna have to wait another year for Sky to make it work with JB, they're so slow its ridiculous.

Look at the Xbox 360 Sky Go player still hasnt had an update to change it with a metro style. I am not holding my breath.
I dont think sky are slow its just sky prefer iphone over android.
No the problem is sky don't trust android users so they spend too long on trying to build protection into the apps.

SkyGo on Note
I have the original Note running ICS which I run SkyGo on using a side loaded APK.
I guess the issue is the O/S rather than device as GT-N7000 isn't a supported device either.
I work for Sky and I'm currently beta testing the app and it does work on both the note 2 and on jb. See my post on the themes and apps section. The current version of Sky Go in Google Play does work on the original running ICS

lets not get peoples hopes up regarding root though. Sky will always block this for no legtimate reason (although they quote that it is because their content providers are worried about copyright infringement, which is nonsense as jailbroken iphones still use the same app).

So when will it be ready.
I paid a lot of money for the note 2... And pay a lot of money to sky from the subscription.

I'll try to address all concerns here. I don't think Sky will ever allow the app to work on rooted devices. Not sure why though, beat in mind I work in sales, I'm only testing the app. As to when it's available, I'm not sure. It's in phase 2 of beta testing right now. Also bear in mind, Sky Go is a free app. You pay for what you get on the tv, the app is an added bonus. I will ask though about the rooting issue and as soon as I get an answer I'll post on here
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I dont see the issue with rooting tbh....seen as though sky go is all server based (you cant hack it to get a free account etc) I dont see why they blocked rooted devices from opening the app in the first place :duh:

After updating TuneIN Radio app, it was gone, and I find it handy to have it there. Since its based with the frequency of its utilization, what I did was to open and close the app repeatedly, untill it showed there Simple and efficient hehehe

I have that option as well. Doesn't work for me. I've only tried calling through a few different carriers, one AT&T (stock GS3) the other being Verizon (HTC DNA, custom ROM unknown which one). Both failed to call after what seemed like an attempt. I'm on Golden Eye 3.0 with KT kernel.

My best guess is it is the SAME as when I ran custom ROMs on previous Galaxy Series phones with ported from international series firmware. We would have the video call button but ATT doesn't allow video calling so it never worked. It is something that ATT blocks so it will never work. You can find threads in the Galaxy S2 I777 threads and Galaxy S1 Captivate threads on how to remove the video call icon from the .apk's and resize the layout so it doesn't have the icons out of shape/place. Unfortunately until ATT let's us call over data it will never work.

Unfortunately since it is NOT built into our phones firmware automatically (removed/changed thanks to ATT firmware) we could not use the same tactics the iPhone people used and have it cleared for use.
But there are other apps that we can use from the play store and have video over cellular signal. But the catch is you have to be rooted and use something like gTalk enabler or change a setting in the build.prop for it to work. You can try apps like Google Talk/Hangouts, Skype, Tango for video calling over the cell signal. I have used Google Talk and Tango.

Since I bought the new Nexus 7 (2013), I want to give my original Nexus 7 to my daughter.
The problem is that she is three years old
So, I want to prepare the home screen for her...
Put all the games shortcut...
Then somehow hide or remove the app drawer...
Make it like kiosk mode
But, I can still reactivate back the app drawer. I don't know, probably via specific gestures or button combination.
Is there any way to achieve this? Special launcher?
Thanks

you can just delete it, whenever you need it again, all you have to do is add a launcher shortcut to the homescreen and choose appdrawer.
You could use multi-profiles and create one that's restricted to those specific apps only

Kids Mode
My 5 year old has access to my N7 and I use Kids Mode. It has saved my N7 from numerous actions 5 year olds make.
All you need to do is just have the Kids mode on the home screen, she can choose it and everything pops up and the tab is then shut down to what ever you dont allow access to.
It is the best $10 I have ever spent!! Or free if you dont want to really hone into the full features of the app.
There are a few apps like kid lock(famingo) that work well for this. UT defaults to the app, but you can unlock it and use it like normal.

My T-Mo HTC One doesnt do that either
although there are a few other Motion Launch gestures listed in Settings > Display and Gestures > Motion Launch gestures.

Did you happen to have a music player open in the background or something on pause?
As far as I've ever seen in any Android device, holding down a particular volume button has always been used to go forward to a new track or backwards to a previous track.

Allows you to connect to a DLNA device on your wifi network. Smart TV or PC (I use smartshare by LG on my PC as i have an LG TV)
I've had the phone for a week. Just recently found out that it has a built-in pedometer. You have to get the Fitbit app to access the feature. Then it can count your steps throughout the day. I've been using it a couple of days. Doesn't seem to have much effect on battery life.

I BELIEVE the phone already records the pedometer data on its own similar to apples chip on the 5s. Installing the fitbit app just let's you view the data, however, the fitbit apps seems to wake the phone quite a bit and consequently is most likely wasting more battery. If you are rooted and use greenify, you can greenify fitbit and still see your progress wheb you launch the app rather than having the app wake your phone in the background.
