What's the best way to get Emoji's working? Being able to see them would be nice... but just sending them would be fine. Anyone have a way of doing this? I know about Handcent/GO SMS emoji extensions but I like the stock TW messaging app, so I don't wanna do that.
EDIT: Also, I'm talking about being able to send them everywhere (Messaging, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Seeing them everywhere would also be a plus as mentioned above
Well if you don't want to use a different messaging app, then you have to replace the system font with one that has emoji support I believe.
Edit: Or you can flash the zip here for the default android emoji http://www.androidcoliseum.com/2013/06/how-to-get-422-emoji-keyboard-on-your.html

Well from 4.1 and up you should be able to see it by default because they baked it into jellybean. That's where the keyboard comes from. Color though, good luck with that one

My friend was sending me em... and I saw all of them except for a few. Did that little trick in the post I mentioned above, and went back into my messaging app and was able to see every single one! And yeah I know I wish we could do that somehow!

i clicked on the s3 link you referred to. the xml file is no longer downloadable but i was able to grab the 9.83mb font file. So all you did was replace the original droidsansfallback with the modified 9.83mb file one and rebooted your phone?
I tried doing that and still cannot see received iphone sms emojis. (i can see emojis on all other apps besides the sms apps, including Handcent + emoji plugin)

Here.
Try using the stock TW messaging app.

I have searched far and wide, and have been unable to find a solution, but I am sick of the SMS/MMS included in the stock Samsung rom. The lack of Hyperlink support kills me... Any way to get the stock messaging app working or any roms which have the stock messaging app?
Try Handcent in the market. I use it over the stock MMS.

Really, you searched far and wide?
It seems to me like you probably didn't actually use the "search" function at all.
If you had, you very quickly would have found this thread, that I originally started, about stock 2.1 apps working on the vibrant, heck it was only at the bottom of page 2 of this very forum, not buried under hundreds of threads/pages.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731822
If you had honestly searched, and replied in that thread, I probably would have even typed out everything step-by-step again, for like the 50th time to help make sure you get it installed correctly, but wow, now I'm just getting annoyed.
Sigh, I totally understand why so many DEV's don't ever respond here anymore. =(

Just get hand cent or chompsms from the market. Then in the stock messaging app turn off notifications and in chomp or hand cent turn them on.
i am using handcent.. works flawless for me.. never have any lag time and/or force close.. i want to get rid of the stock sms also but i have not found anything here yet..
EDIT: I remove the mms.apk and mms.odex from the system/app folder.. now i don't see the mms icon and just using Handcent..

Then busybox cp the vanilla MMS app to /system/app
The end.
You can open hyperlinks in the sms/mms app included on the phone. Tap the message and you can then tap on the hyperlink to open it in your browser
So much fail in one thread, ha.

Could it be to do with your version of Sense or something? Perhaps that's a version newer/older than yours (logically newer) and this isn't included in your version?

That should be easy enough, your arrows point to the little vertical bars on the far left, which most likely is a PNG image inside the apk, can you upload apk and i'll take a look see?

If I'm not mistaken it's supposed to be a UI feature of Sense, but for some reason nobody's been able to find it. Maybe it was part of the UI in a beta version but they simply forgot to add it in in the full version?

System apk (the stock Sense email app) and judging by the OP date and the bottom tabs it's for Froyo (not sure which one though)

Set Calendar Colors is a free app to do exactly this, change the colors of the accounts, calendars, tasks, etc

Apparently is not persistent. On the next calendar update, the colors also get reset (as far as I have seen so far).
I have managed to get the Black background on Contacts, MMS and Phone apps, I'm using the Inverted apps that were posted here, it works, I needed to remove the secMMS.apk.Odex file in order to avoid the Black on Black issue but it works, I know that since doing that, every time I restart the phone I get the Android is Updating message for a couple of seconds, I don't like it but I can live with it having the benefit of having the Black backgrounds.
So, I have been wondering about the Email App, it's the only one that it will stay with the White Background, and it then feel out of place now. I just saw that in next ShoStock release he mentions that it will fix the Black on Black issue on Email App, so in other words there should be the Inverted App someplace already. Well, I went ahead and downloaded the Shostock Rom and extracted the secEmail_J.Apk thinking that it will do the trick but nothing, then I extracted the odex file and nothing, then I remembered that I needed to delete the MMS odex file in order to work fine but no way with the Email App.
Have anyone managed to have the Inverted email app working? I'd appreciate if you can give me hints, I haven't found anything in here and across the Web.
Thanks.
I'm interested too. We shall see.
Though if you are talking for gmail I am pre5y sure there is a team blackout that has inverted gapps.

No, I'm talking about the Stock email App. And just FYI, I sent a message to Sho (From the Shostock Rom) and he managed to get the inverted email app doing some adjusting to some system files, not as simple as replacing Apps, so this one won't be as easy as the MMS, Contacts and Phone apps.

I tried installing some inverted and AOSP mail apps and ran into a bunch of crashes myself. I'd be interested in seeing what his methods were.
Would you mind sharing his work or pointing us to the inverted mail app? I've been looking everywhere for this. Thanks if so!!!
Anybody else have their samsung messages update and change their font size to huge? I cannot find a way to change back and it is awful! Not in the standard settings and can't find a way inside app. Guess it is back to google messages for now!

I am also using the stock messaging app and don't have "chatbots". Unless you are referring to the Network Messages, where it's a message to a small phone number. Are they grouped under 1 thing, then you can see all of the different one's? Facebook has this kind of visual setting, I'm not sure if this if what you are referring to though.
Can you show me a screen shot now?
I'll help figure this out with ya!

That doesn't look like the stock messaging app.
Tap on the 3 dots, then is there settings in that drop down?
Also, go into the Chatbots conversation, and then show me what that looks like.
Here is what my stock messaging app looks like on the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren:

Oh dang ! I don't have that build yet so I can't help to check it out.
I gotta run that OTA fixer.
What are the settings pages for Chats and for Wireless Alerts?
Chat settings and wireless alert settings.
Any help is appreciated it's been bothering me since it showed up
@RypeDub if you can get the messaging .apk off your phone before upgrading I can try to install it on my phone and see if it resolves the problem.
Kind of a manual work around but if we can get the .apk somewhere it'll at least be a solution for now.
How do you do that? I'll help out before I run the OTA fixer
I downloaded Package Manager: App info, APK Analyze & backup by Sarangal
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sarangal.packagemanager&hl=en_US
In that app you should be able to "share" and fire it into an e-mail to yourself then onto xda, or possibly google cloud, or do a back up and manually pull it off the phone.
I'm sure there are other package managers that can do the same as well.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/15_md-XUKtK_l5gv0_cL6ZW-MRj3cfmod/view?usp=drivesdk
That looks like the Google messaging app not the default OnePlus messaging app. At least when I downloaded it that what it's showing up as and when clicking "view in play store" it goes to the Google messaging app. Either way I'm not able to install it as it's failing. I'll mess with it a little more possible tomorrow. Thank for trying!
