Hi guys new to this would appreciate the help if in was to flash my network branded s4 with unbranded firmware using Odin does the device need to.be rooted and also will it change the device status and flash count. Thanks guys also would it do this if I flashed to the Google version as well thanks

yes you can
no need to be rooted
everything official signed by samsung will not affect counter and status

I unlocked my 02 UK GT-i9505 no problems
I thought I had found an official rom unbranded 4.2.2 thru ibtimes as with my other phones to flash with odin onto the phone- full wipe no problem and downloaded @ 1.5 gb!!

I have limited data on my plan and when the rom booted to my delight it was branded 3 network lol aghh
Could anyone help me with a 4.2.2 rom link, official Samsung rom generic unbranded for the GT-i9505 that they know for a fact works.
I am nearly out of data this month and can not take the risk on another mistake

Thanks I have managed to locate the firmware now.
I think I was just unlucky getting the 3 branded one by mistake

Now i want to flash the Stock Rom back, and i don't know which one to choose. Is there any chance that i can find out the Stock Rom i was using through IMEI code or SN?

Hi you can check it here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ and make sure to choose your country . etc . have a nice day

Conect it to KIES (android 4.2.2) or Kies3 (android 4.3) for know ur region like in photo i added u :highfive:
Thank you guys. But the problem is that i am using google Edition 4.4.2 now, and i have no record at all. So it means i can't use kies. And i checked the stock roms, there are too many. mine is in french region. and there are simply too many.
II have flashed rom on my 9505 and after that i can only have 2G, when switching on 3G i loose signal and can do nothing.
Does anyone have something similiar ?

Update your modem to a 4.4.2 compatible one such as NA1 or NA5......
Could You help me with that- from where i can get those Modems ? Na1 or NA5 - im not very familiar with shortcuts -
I got my phone in Polish - Orange provider.
Do i need flash bootloader too ? I have flashed CWM on Original Android 4.2.2 then updated to This ROM

I want to flash a new firmware, does the country of the firmware realy matters? because my phone is imported and i have no idea from which country it came.
ps. does flashing a stock firmware will flag the knox?

what's tour android version??? If already with 4.4 no BL problem you can root it directly with cf auto root or else
if not with 4.4 or you stay with 4.3 and root but many custom roms are not allowed to flash (4.4) or you update with odin and root and can install all 4.4 custom roms

Yes. You can, just make sure to do a full wipe before flashing the new firmware. What's your provider and is your bootloader unlocked?
hi provider is uk ee, have rooted mobile, how do i check bootloader status, i flashed using cf-root with odin to get root and supersu installed, have managed to disable knox as well from supersu.
i am registered with sammobile just need some guidance on getting correct firmware so i do not brick mobile.

i think you ask in the wrong section, go to Q&A.
When you flash different firmware, make sure you use the correct modem and bl , or it wont boot and give bad reception.
look at picture , i believe the correct one
