ROM features for stock - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on stock and want to stay that way. Does anyone know of any apps that would extend my phone like a custom ROM, for example an app to customize quick settings or similar or an app that has power menu options etc, or something like ribbon by aokp....

Power Toggles has what you need for the quick settings/power menu options. Usable as both a desktop or a notification widget.

[Q] Power Notification Bar

Basically I'm looking for an app that has power controls in the notification bar. MIUI like. I know there are ROM's that have these included (MIUI, Cyanogen) but I don't really want to change ROM just for power controls. So is there any apps? Thanks.

Just search in the market for Power Controle Plus - by - Sirius Application Limited . It's very easy to set up .

CM7 suggestion

Cyanogen should add a feature where if you press the battery icon in the notification bar, settings would come out for it in a windowed box belox the notification bar. Same for the time and if you had wifi on for example you could click it to go to the wifi settings page. That would be so awesome!

This would require a complete rewrite of fundamental android elements and would not be a task someone would most likely undertake.

You can do something similar to what you want if you use the notification power widget. You can add toggles for all sorts of setting that lie within your notification bar that are very easy to access. You can enable in in CM settings.
I don't see the tiny wifi or battery icons as being good shortcuts. If you really want to though, try submitting a feature request on the cm bugtracker. It will get noticed more there.
Not very finger friendly up in the corner imo

Sense 2.0, revert to 1.0 notification bar/menu?

I might be the only one that doesn't like the notification bar with the quick access menu and list of recently used apps. I prefer the old version coupled with using widgetsoid instead to have only the settings I want/need, and not take up half the pull-down menu with the recent apps.
Is it possible to revert only the notification bar, or delete the quick access/recent apps options?
Not sure but i love that bar it makes finding the app I use most often ez like wifi tether.

True, but how is it any different than holding down the home button for 2 seconds?
Its really not in any way but i always forget that you can hold down the home button for 2sec but i am constantly reminded where my recent apps are every time i get a text, email or missed call...... Maybe thats just me though i can see how you would not like it.

Yeah I hate that new pull down bar it was a good idea but I'm so use to using the home key that even on a GB ROM I still use the home key

Damn, assuming that no response can only mean that it's impossible. That's a shame, really liked sense beyond this issue.

[Q] Modify the Navigation Bar?

Flat out, is there any way to modify the Navigation Bar at the bottom of the screen on the Razr M?
I really just want to change the order of the buttons, having the capacitive buttons is cool and all, but the Home button being directly in the middle and BELOW the space bar in most typing applications has led to some frustration as far as I'm concerned.
I know custom ROMs will have different implementations of this, but I'm not interested in that at the moment.
Rooted Stock Jelly Bean.
Any info is helpful thanks!
CM10 does it just fine.
settings -> system -> navigation bar

yea, the stock just doesn't have options for it. maybe when CM10 hits beta, but I'd rather not go without functionality at the moment.
You can use securelock app to hide system bar with the combination of button savior app to do the customization. It works for me

Finally to make it work you have to use 5 apps
Full!screen: to hide navigations (top and bottom) but you loose notifications (gmail, google talk, sms...), incoming calls and alarm.
Custom alarm app:
Full hd id: for incoming calls
Button saver: for system navigation
Pop notification: for gmail...notifications.
I don't know if it worth it

Its alot easier then that, I use HideBar and LML (gensture control) it hisdes the system bar then i use gestures to control home back search and recent apps. not that bad.

Tried hidebar, same behavior as full!screen: loosing all notifications...that's why you need the others apps

Pull down menu

Is there anyway to utilize the initial space on the pull down menu to have quick settings? Isn't it goofy you have to pull that down and then click on a tab to get to quick settings?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Well, CyanogenMod has some toggles on the first page of the notification menu (you can activate then through the settings).
Alternatively, you can change the notification bar's behavior that if you swipe down on the right you get to the quick sittings instantly, otherwise you'll get to the normal notification menu. Cm and aokp both have this feature. Pa has it too if I'm not completely mistaken.
Power Toggles https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
I find power toggles pretty awful. Widgetsoid would be my choice. It's much like Samsung's touchwiz toggles, and fully customizable.
