Sometimes when I compose something on the keyboard, a blue frame (rectangle) shows up around border of the display. I'm not so sure what triggers the appearance of the blue frame, nor do I know how to get rid of it. It seems that the blue frame is triggered sometimes when I incidentally touch the left or right edge of the keyboard. And once the blue frame appears, any keystroke would show up with an unintended letter. For example, typing 'c' would show up as 'g', 'n' as 'k', etc.
So far the only way I've found to get out of the annoying blue frame is to temporarily switch to a different app and then come back.
What is the blue frame? How to deactivate it?

In developer options check and see if you have any of the items checked in the "drawing" category.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sorry, could you elaborate a little bit more about this? How to clear catch/data/uninstall updates? Using adb shell, I don't see a directory called 'catch'.

Unfortunately clearing the cache, uninstall and reinstall didn't work. And the problem remains...
Any other suggestions?

Yes it was on. Now I've turned it off, and I'll see if the problem resurfaces.
Thanks a lot!

Hi all,
I would like to ask if any of you have this same thing.
I have tried to disable all of the smart stay / smart scroll feature of the phone, yet I still see the 'eye' icon in notification which indicated that the feature is still on. Is it just me or you guys have the same thing?
I already tried to turn off the phone, remove the battery, turn on again, it still there.
I don't want to hard reset yet, as maybe something else I could do, or maybe it is supposed to always stay there.
Thank you.
I9505.
On this phone the eye icon is always there but since no active - it is still dimmed. no problems all.

Hi,
If you go to settings/my device/smart screen, and uncheck everything, the eye in the notification bar disappears.

Hi, no luck. I try that as soon as you inform me. But it still there. Any other suggestion? May I know you using I9505 or I9500? Perhaps different built?
Thanks

I've got four empty spaces in my notification panel. I know for a fact that I'm missing a WiFi button and the Air Gestures button. Not sure what the other two are. One of my friends that has an S4 says that his are all there. Any help? His is an ATT and mine is on Verizon if that helps...

I had this funny bug in my s3. Please turn on the wifi from settings and let me know if the icon reappears in the notification bar. Have you tried doing a factory reset ?

It's still not showing up. I haven't done a factory reset just yet because I just got it today, but that may be my only option at this point.

I have notice that this app turns on automatically in the task bar, and I cannot turn it off unless I go to running apps and disable it. Has anyone else had this issue and how can I fix it?

It is not just your phone and it is quite annoying to have to turn it off after every reboot.

This is an issue with the last update. I notified the developer and they Emailed me back telling me they are aware of the issue and will be adding a "fix" in a future update.
If you wipe data on the app then this stops. It has for me at least

If you don't mind, reboot your phone (completely turn off and then back on) and once it is fully rebooted, pull down your notification panel and see if it turns back on again.
If you wipe the data, it clears all the settings... I have the same issue. I want it to only be active when I call for it by clicking the app. Not all the time. I tried greenify and it seemed to work until I opened the app, now it is back to coming back after every reboot.

I have the same issue and no amount of factory resets fixes it. I don't want to have to use Nova as it doesn't allow wallpaper to go full view #thenotch. But if this isn't fixed soon I'm going to have to.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not familiar with the white list editor. Does it require root? I'm not looking to root my phone ultimately to fix something that should work out of the box on a $700 phone.

Mines doesn't turn on but itself but When I'm laying in bed sideways for some reason my phone thinks I should auto rotate my screen ? I usually get this little screen turn icon on the bottom right which I always accidentally press it with my hand since I'm right handed because of the edge screen... Drives me nuts! It might be the culprit to your problem
Edit: I'm using the xda app and the download button is blocking the icon. I'm sure you would be able to see it in desktop or something

Cheers for the help, but yeh i know how to do it, use it all the time to get to the settings part quicker. It just doesn't work, it'll just vibrate and do nothing unfortunately. Even tried searching in setting for it and it doesn't show up on my phone, sounds like maybe they removed it? Ended up downloading an app from the play store that pops up a floating rotate button if I rotate the phone, which gives me the option of turning it on or off from there. Only pops up when the phone is rotated, so it's not there all the time which I like.
