Hello XDA
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Forgive me in advance if I lack XDA etiquette or am posting in the wrong area.
Many of you CM users are familiar with [and have suffered through] the headphones call audio bug that plagued 10.1/10.2 nightlies for some time back in August, which have been allegedly fixed. The bug involved broken headphone microphone ability; one can hear call/non-call audio coming from the headphones when plugged in, and the headphone microphone will work with out-of-call applications (i.e. sound recorder, etc.), though when in-call the microphone is rendered useless and does not work. The actual phone microphone fortunately remains working, so the caller can just barely hear you to say, "Hey, can you put your phone up to your face? You sound muffled." This results in me having to hold the actual phone close to my mouth in order to use headphones, which defeats the purpose of headphones entirely.
The problem seems to be fixed on CM 10.2 nightlies when I was running them, though for stability purposes I prefer to revert to CM 10.1.3 RC with ktoonsez AT&T kernel. I always flash clean, wipe the cache/davlik appropriately, etc. Everything else with this current setup is phenomenal, save this damned headphone microphone issue. I do a lot of multitasking when on the phone and this is a crippling defect.
I've searched long and hard for an answer to this issue but have ended empty-handed and am going crazy. It seems most people are no longer experiencing this issue. Am I the only one left? Does anyone else have the same issue?
Any help would be infinitely appreciated!
I have a similar problem. If my headphones aren't already plugged into the phone when a call comes in and I then plug them in, the other person cannot hear me at all. I usually have to restart the phone with the headphones plugged in to get them to work on calls.
Sgs4 mic issue with cm10.1
Yes I have the same problem and couldn't find any solution either.
M on 10.1.3 RC2 same as you and this problem bothered me ever since I installed cm10.1 nightly back in August.
I will do a clean wipe (including nand erase) and install latest Samsung stock os, and see if this solve few of issues (I have problem with my gas as well).
I have just rooted and flashed my phone for the first time, but it was nothing crazy difficult as I have experience in programming and jailbreaking. I flashed CM11 to my G2 as well as flashed the google apps package to it and all has been well, with a few exceptions. For some reason Spotify will not output any audio whatsoever. I don't have a bluetooth device to test it with but I have no audio from my speakers or from the headphone jack.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, does anyone have a fix for this? I get audio out of other apps just not Spotify.
Hey, this is my first post on this website and here it goes.
I recently flashed CW12, the latest version on my Note 3 (htlecan). After flashing the ROM, I noticed my speakers were distorted and making weird noises during any audio playback. I never had this issue in touch wiz
I wanted to ask you guys if this is a issue caused by CW12, I understand it's not the official version, but could it also be an internal issue?
Cheers!
You mean CM12 ?
Sound crackling. It's a known issue since forever.
Disabling system sounds may help.
Hello. I have a T-mobile Galaxy S 5. Recently I tried CyanogenMod 12.1 and several derivatives (such as Resurrection Mix). All share the same problem: during a call, if I plug in a earpiece without a microphone, the microphone in the phone will not work. The other side can't hear me. I can hear the other side though. If I instead plug in a earpiece with microphone (like the one from the phone), everything works. Or if I turn the speaker on from the phone app, the phone's microphone also works.
I remember when I was using the Samsung TouchWiz there is no such problem. Is this a known issue of CyanogenMod? Is there any ticket tracking this issue? Is there simple way to fix?
Thanks!
Odd problem I've had since starting to use Exodus 6... I don't know if it's a ROM problem, or something more general, as this is the first MM ROM i've used.
Device: D850
Currently running 20160419 nightly
(Clean flashed 20160416, but the factory reset didn't resolve the problem)
stock kernel.
The problem is that whenever i switch to speakerphone while on a call, the mic mutes itself and the person at the other end can't hear me. Turning the speaker off reenables the mic. I've recently noticed that the same occurs when i have the phone plugged in to my car audio through the 3.5mm jack. Sound outputs, but the mic is muted, so hands-free calling doesn't work, "OK Google" doesn't, voice-to-text for sending messages stops working, etc.
Anyone else run into this? Is there a fix? A way to start tracking down the problem, perhaps?
I had the same issue on cyanogen 13 with all the recent nightlies after some point in February. Could never narrow it down. I ditched cyanogen since and went back to stock rooted and I have no issues. I also had issues with speaker volume being extremely low.
