Hi Guys,
I have ported successfully Firefox OS to my Archos Gen8 (Omap3 CPU).
But i haven't any buttons, except power and volume buttons, to return to the home screen.
Are there any options or a line to put in the boardconfig.mk to activate the navigation bar?
Is it configure by the DPI like android?
Thanks,
Bizcuite.
Currently there's no fix for a navigation bar, so it is recommended to have a home button.

anybody know a way to bring up the android menu via touch screen instead of having to press the physical window key?
a quick tab or button on notification bar would be nice.

as of now, there is no way to do that, the only ways is to press the windows button.
Many uses I'm missing out on. Example if I'm browsing a site and want to open another window, what do I do?
Or
While in any app how would I access the menu or option settings?
What ROM are you using? If it's stock B&N software, is it rooted?
If you're using CyanogenMod, then you can turn on a set of buttons in the status bar that will replace the missing hardware buttons, much like on a Honeycomb device. It's in the Settings menu under Tablet Tweaks.
If you're using stock, you can install an app called SoftKeys or Button Savior and have it pop up a set of on-screen keys (menu, search, back, home, etc) whenever you press the "n" hardware button. You won't be able to install either unless you've rooted the device first, though.
Two applications: Button Savior or Soft Keys
I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm a big fan of zMooth.
You could also search for Nook Color keysmod and remap one of your volume buttons as Menu.
Keysmod is what works best. You'll have both menu and back buttons that's so convenient especially in landscape. Partner it with recent plus for adjusting volumes in-game and invisibright whenever you can pull up your notification bar.

I use "Virtual Button Bar" in MIUI. it can be set to extend the buttons from a trigger point, or to be permanently extended and float.
Hi xda users, i was wondering if someone can tell me how to disable the capacitive buttons due that im using now the navigation bar of jellybean 4.1.2 and sometimes its hard to press the bar without pressing the capasitive buttons.
thanks in advance
Hey everyone, is it possible to use the back button to pull up the recent apps? Rather than just using the home. I don't like pushing down on the home button for to long

It is possible to map certain hardware keys (if your rom allows it). For example, Task650 AoKP has a hardware key menu, however you cannot customize the back button for recent apps, but you can throw recent apps onto the menu button as a hold down. So you can press it for settings as normal, or hold down on it for recent apps. If you cannot find a rom that allows custom hardware button mappings than you can always use a navigation bar (Like a tablet) to access the recent apps.
Hi all,
I'm really happy with new Lollipop' based roms since last November
But at the moment I've set the double tip on HOME BUTTON of the nav bar the MENU function... 'cause in Lollipop, for the rom available in this period, there's no way to customize the soft keys and having 4 buttons :
* home
* menu
* recent
* back
I'm using an app to simulate 4th MENU button on the nav bar. Anyone knows a mod to flash to have the availability to change this behaviour ? To add another button ? To custom it ?
Thx :highfive:
What app did you use to simulate the menu button?
