missing bluetooth song info and contacts in prius 2013 __ HELP - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have a 2013 prius stock and a galaxy s4... When I had stock Rom my music information that showed on the prius screen came up but I was unable to change songs or go to playlists through the prius screen. I went to paranoid android Rom and now for all song music it is showing as unavailable and the contacts do not sync.... I have heard it might be the aosp or something like that.... is there ANY WAY to fix this

No there is no way to fix this. AOSP-based roms do not have the correct AVCRP version to support this feature. Previously, CM9 or 10 supported this with bluestack's cherry pick, but bluestacks has not updated this iirc.
You're SOL, sorry.

Dang so there is no way to add this in with a script or such? Or Download an app that supports it? ..

You could flash the Google Edition 4.2.2 , while not aosp, it has the vanilla flavor, bout you miss out on customization. Once 4.3 is released we should be good as the new Bluetooth stacks will have it
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

so is there currently any ROM that has the qualifications to allow me to play and stream music info to my car?

Any ROM will stream music into your car.
NON TOUCHWIZ ROMS will not stream Music information into your car.
It's as simple as that.
Google doesn't support it. Samsung has to add that feature, so thats why it only works on Touchwiz.
It's been a problem ever since 4.2 came out. With 4.1, custom ROM's like Cyanogenmod could manually add the feature in, but since Google changed the bluetooth stack on 4.2, nobody has either A) figured it out or B) gave it time to look into it.

Yes.
Everyone says that 4.3 will support it, but since Google never said anything about it (and I assume it doesn't work on the leaked 4.3 ROM) I would say to just either tough it out, or stick with a TW ROM. And get Nova launcher or something.

New CM music App!!

So, I guess this could be in the 'apps sections' but since I am not the developer of that app, I decided I would make it more of an informational post.
So, I have to first admit I do a little CyanogenMod "stocking" if you will (don't lie, you do too ). While scrolling through the gerrit review board, I happened to notice this http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,1797 .... If you scroll down and read the comments, it appears CM officially has a new music app!!!
So I went and checked out the app (search market for 'cubed', it's the fourth one down by 'Filipe Abrantes'). I find it to be pretty awesome visually, tho I miss some of my features from the current CM music app. I'm sure in due time, all features will find there way there!! It does have a few donate 'nag screens' which if you do your own CM stocking can find comments about here https://github.com/kmobs/rockonnggl/commit/025cbdeeda334722ca48d7ba9acb6479148964a3#comments
Let me be the first to says this is awesome, as the stock music app is terrible. Just wanted to 'spread the word' if you will, let me know what everyone thinks of this new music app, good OR bad!!
this cubed music player has been in the market place for a while. You can google reviews of the app since last year. Glad they decided to put it in though, so thankx for the info
It's already in the "unofficial" builds.. don't like it
i played with it a bit, its pretty nice, still think i'll be sticking with poweramp though. Music3 is just missing a couple features that i need from poweramp (namely the eq,the built in one in CM isnt quite as good and the way it processes the music folders)
I use cubed daily. I don't need eq.
I'm sure any and all features that *can* be added will... just gotta wait and see....
I agree its not the greatest settings wise now that I've had more usage... but visually its a nice app...
Now lets see what added cm SPUNK can bring to it!!

Search for pub:"Filipe Abrantes"
been using this player for a long time hopefully CM fixes its quarks like album covers getting unmatched etc..
For us who like the stock music app better, what would be the best way to install it back and uninstall the one that comes with CM?
I'm sure you could do it with Titanium Backup. Open titanium. Press and hold the app. Uninstall. Install the Music.apk from somewhere else.

CM6 uses Music Mod (by Elliot Stocker) as the default player. I don't really like cubed either.
I know when CM7 Official comes out, I'll be reverting back to the original music app. I've had nothing but problems with Music3. IE: unplugging headphones and app freaks out and starts skipping/playing songs, the "Queue" list doesn't list all my songs in the playlist(most of which are over 500 songs.)
try powerAMP if u want some EQ with bass and treble for your ears.

Definitely the best music player on the market.
I just like how it updated the info from the internet included album art... and has a full screen widget that displays the album art.
does powerAMP do this?
[UPDATE]
PowerAMP looks like it does the same thing except its $4 or $5

Download and Install this. I believe you all may like it. (Ginger Bread Roms ONLY)

it appears to me that @chrissoyars reverted the CM repo back to the old music play last night... Just an FYI, so we will see what happens!!

Navigation Volume too low

Hi guys, I have an issue with Sat Nav volume. I will try to break it down simply:
Sat Nav [CoPilot and Navigator tested]
Music app [PowerAMP and HTC Music tested]
Audio cable [3.5mm audio jack - plugged into car stereo]
Sound settings all full [set in Quick Settings and also manually set Navigation Volume when Google Navigator is running]
Audio is fine when any music app playing [with or without cable]
Audio is fine when any Sat Nav voice playing [with or without cable]
Audio is fine when any Sat Nav + any Music app both playing (music cuts out and voice becomes audible) [WITHOUT CABLE]
--- Sat Nav voices becomes too low to hear when both Sat Nav and Music playing with cable plugged in ---
This was working perfectly fine on stock HTC (both Froyo and GB) with kernel Buzz OCUV 1.0.6.
I have only seen this issue since flashing Android Revolution HD 5.1.9 > 5.1.10 > 5.1.11 . I have tried different kernels ( Stock ARHD > UnityV2 > UnityV3 ) and also retried Buzz OCUV 1.0.6 but the issue still remains.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be the problem?
Anybody have any ideas at all?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I've always had this issue too, All I have been doing is lower the music volume to half, set Navigation Volume to Full and then increase the car volume instead
According to google support forum, It looks like the issue is caused by GB 2.3.3, 2.3.2 does not have this problem so it seems downgrading is the only fix.
I have the same exact problem unfortunately.
I'm guessing you're using Google Navigation instead of HTC's Locations Premium Navigation?
I'm currently on 2.3.3, and I don't really have a problem with any bad navigation volumes. If you're not okay with paying to try out Locations Navigation, don't worry, you have a 1 month worldwide navigation license which you can activate and use for free without any restrictions.
Thanks for your 'input' Vious, but the issue remains no matter what satnav is used, premium or not.
It is a confirmed 2.3.3 issue with multiple threads on the google code forums
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I hope they fix this soon. Such a GIGANTIC issue... i can't believe this isn't at all critical for them.
Same problem for me, Copilot support could not fix it for me also, claiming it was a problem with android not them. Used to work on Version 8.x.x.606
If this affects all versions of Android above 2.3.2 then it looks as if I have little choice but to buy an iphone or wp7 phone next, Google are unbelievable sometimes!
6 months and still no fix, I love Android and would hate to switch but this is a complete joke!!!

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to share my solution for this same problem that I've been having since upgrading to the new gingerbread. Note though that this is no longer an issue if you're using the latest google navigation app, but if you're like me and you like to use an offline nav app like CoPilot, then this solution should work for you.
Since this problem was introduced in gingerbread 2.3.3, I thought I would try replacing the libaudiopolicy.so library with one from a gingerbread 2.3.2 rom I had laying around and voila, that seemed to have solved the problem! I haven't tested this thoroughly, but it seems to be working so far. I hope this helps anyone else out there that is still suffering from this issue.
Could you post the file? Also, have you encountered any issues so far?
Perhaps post this in the previously mentioned google code pages for more testers....

No issues so far!!
Perhaps when I have a little bit more time, I'll post a link to this thread in those referenced google pages.

Nice one I'll give this a try
I presume the libaudiopolicy.so file you posted is from a Sense ROM, it didn't work for me as I'm running BlackIce which is CM based.
Downloaded an early CM7 nightly based on 2.2.3, copied that file over and it worked!
I have updated the previously referenced Google pages.
Attached is the CM7 2.3.2 libaudiopolicy.so if anyone wants it.

Thanks hexion, you see this is exactly what I have been trying to say all this time - it must be something slightly changed in some audio file somewhere between 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 . I just have no idea about Linux / Android so never knew where to look for such things.
Now all we need is to compare these to see where the changes lie and try to patch the most current libaudiopolicy.so with only the previous Navigation settings, leaving all other new things as is.

Hey rgrover, I'm also on CM7.1 Nightly. I tried renaming old file to libaudiopolicy.so.bak and copied the file you supplied into system/lib but now my device will not load past white HTC screen after reboot. Any advice?
UPDATE: it's OK it seems it was just a permissions problem. Everything working fine now
Hexion, you f**king treat !
My DHD is now pure perfection, with CM7.1 installed and this Sat Nav fix. Everything works at it should and I need nothing else from a phone (apart from battery life, but hopefully I can get Daemon Controller on CM7 at some point with better kernel).
If I had mone I would buy you a bottle JD (actually I would buuy myself one lol, maybe share with you XD )
Apparently, this fix for sat nav apps does not work for Google Navigation and TuneInRadio according to chykal1 on the google page. Music will not be lowered when the nav voice comes on. So if you use TuneInRadio a lot, you probably shouldn't apply this fix. Maybe when someone patches the latest libaudiopolicy.so, then we'll have a true solution.

[REQ] Bluetooth MAP Profile update.zip or Stock ROM

I've just got a new car with Ford Sync. Unfortunately it needs a Bluetooth MAP Profile to be able to send and receive text messages.
I've done some searching but can't seem to find any way to add this support.
From what I've read, Samsung add MAP support into their devices, so was wondering if anyone could rip it out of that and create a flashable ZIP or something for us on the Nexus 4?
I prefer running Stock ROM, Rooted, so don't really want to shift through the Custom ROMs out there to find one with MAP support.
I'd greatly appreciate it and I'm sure many others would too.
Cheers

Did you ever find the proper ROM for The Nexus 4 and bluetooth mapping? I am on 2013 Ford Explorer's MyFord Touch and get nothing with Cyanogenmod 10.1
crossing fingers you have the answers
Add me to the list of SYNC users who likes stock android but needs the MAP profile
Does Jelly Bean 4.3 add the MAP profile to the Nexus 4? I read somewhere that it did, so I upgraded my phone but it still doesn't work with MFT.
I just updated my Nexus 4 to KitKat and messaging now works with Sync! I can send and receive messages Thanks Google!

Beautiful & Immersive
A more polished design, improved performance, and new features.
Just say “Ok Google”
You don’t need to touch the screen to get things done. When on your home screen* or in Google Now, just say “Ok Google” to launch voice search, send a text, get directions or even play a song.
A work of art
While listening to music on your device, or while projecting movies to Chromecast, you’ll see beautiful full-screen album and movie art when your device is locked. You can play, pause, or seek to a specific moment.
Immerse yourself
The book you're reading, the game you're playing, or the movie you're watching — now all of these take center stage with the new immersive mode, which automatically hides everything except what you really want to see. Just swipe the edge of the screen to bring back your status bar and navigation buttons.
Faster multitasking
Android 4.4 takes system performance to an all-time high by optimizing memory and improving your touchscreen so that it responds faster and more accurately than ever before. This means that you can listen to music while browsing the web, or race down the highway with the latest hit game, all without a hitch.
Smart & Simple
Google smarts improve every corner of the Android experience.
The future is calling
The new phone app automatically prioritizes your contacts based on the people you talk to the most. You can also search for nearby places and businesses, your contacts, or people in your Google Apps domain.
A smarter caller ID
Whenever you get a call from a phone number not in your contacts, your phone will look for matches from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps.
All your messages in the same place
Never miss a message, no matter how your friend sends it. With the new Hangouts app, all of your SMS and MMS messages are together in the same app, alongside your other conversations and video calls. And with the new Hangouts, you can even share your location and send animated GIFs.
Emoji everywhere
Sometimes words can’t express how you feel. For that, there’s Emoji, the colorful Japanese characters, now available on Google Keyboard.
Grab & Go
New features help you get things done while you’re on the move.
Print wherever, whenever
Now you can print photos, documents, and web pages from your phone or tablet. You can print to any printer connected to Google Cloud Print, to HP ePrint printers, and to other printers that have apps in the Google Play Store.
Pick a file, any file
From apps like Quickoffice, you can open and save files on Google Drive, other cloud storage services, or your device. And with quick access to recently used files, it's easier than ever to send the file you were just working on.
Your office, anywhere
Create and edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations from your phone or tablet with the newly redesigned Quickoffice
Don't think kit kat will come to Grand or any other phone than the premium flaship...
This is a commercial restriction and not hardware...unfortunately...

Hello Guys....
I've have been here since the Grand thread was a single general thread, so I've done and tried it all:
Here are the options for 4.2.2 on the Grand "L"
1. You CAN flash the OFFICIAL 4.2.2 for the 9082 BUT....you will loose 3G connectivity, it will only work on EDGE.
2. You CAN the CM10.1 Build as in my thread it will run the 3G networks fine, BUT...you loose your second SIM slot.
That's it.

Stock apps?

So, I've looked around these forums for any post about the stock apps and I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the stock keyboard and stock music player are. I've looked in my nandroid backup and found like 10 different music apk/odex files and no keyboard apks at all.
Currently, I'm on the latest stable Slimbean ROM and was told that said apps will work on the ROM. Just can't find them.

Currently, I'm on the latest stable Slimbean ROM and was told that said apps will work on the ROM. Just can't find them.

Apps that come on the phone when you buy it. I wanted the Samsung Keyboard and the music player that comes on the phone when you buy it, but apparently, they won't work on slimbean.
