I can only suggest you to use a VNC remote then record it from your PC.
Anyways there is no screen recorder that works with the S4 from my experience.
But using VNC it's very choppy.

Try this want
Are you rooted? If not so I think the apk posted will not work.
I use incall recorder from play store.. works most of the time on line recording but seems to have a bug.

The better the plicacion stock as long as you have a cooked rom, usually all usually have that option, which is very valid and no cumbersome.
If having to install soware seconds.

Did you ever figure out a way to record it?
I had used this app on my evo 3d with no issues.
..now it doesnt work on the Galaxy s4...records my voice only..
just wondering if you figured it out?
Using "another call recorder" on 9505 stock not rooted. Works flawlessly just have to set outgoing delay above 0. Recording via bt headset also works perfectly.
Slig, searched for that in google Play without any luck. Do you have a link?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks.
What are your settings for:
Recording format:
and
Audio Source:
defaults: 3gp and voice_call
The only setting in recording i've changed is that delay. I've set it to value of 2. When it was zero outgoing recording was failing from time to time.
I'm using this app in auto recording mode with few numbers excluded. My save folder is located on sd card.

Followed your exact instructions...doesnt work.
I made a few calls and it said it was recording. Now each recording is exactly 641 bytes and cannot be opened (the built in player opens and shuts right down), tried other media players and accessed the recording in the ACR folder without any luck as well...;. I'm on T-mobile service but i dont think it matters.... weird...
I downloaded version version 4.3 from the market. not sure which one you are using.
I have version 4.3 from the market. Don't know why it behaves so weird in your case. My rom version is MEA. There is also program called Galaxy Call Recorder which worked on my phone. Maybe try this one.
My phone isnt rooted....
I'm using this app now thanks to Slig.. works reliably with my unrooted S4

Not sure what phone you are using it on but it does NOT work on the galaxy s4.in fact each output file is 641bytes (even though the recording times differ) and EStrong audio player cannot even open them
My TV provider made an app for us so we can watch tv or recorded stuff from my recorder at home on my tablet/phone.
Whenever i try to watch tv on it it says ' your phone is rooted and therefore not supported by this app'.
I've reset my flashcounter with triangle away but it still detects i'm rooted
So how does an app detect if i am rooted and is there a way i can make the app believe i am not rooted so i can watch tv on my phone?

I know S4 has an infrared option because I can use it as my TV remote. But is there a way to enable it manually and receive files from an old phone like my cousin's Samsung X650? It is kinda urgent.

Lol, you didn't read my post carefully. I am trying to receive a file from a very old basic phone called Samsung X650, which only has infrared!
Don't think it's posible as the hardware is not designed to transfer data, but to send commands only

We can all benefit from a thread like this to supplement our need for root or for those that don't want to root but want some root functions. The 2 listed below don't require root anymore and I use then on a daily basis.
If you have an app that you can share please list it and add a little description of use or configuration needed.
1) I'm running Automatic call record. This even works better that the rooted version that ran in Xposed module.
2) pie controls, this is a simpler version that the LMT launcher that required root. This gives me all home buttons and any app at thumb level on both sides.
What other apps or functions are you running on your LG G4 that do not require root anymore?

Automatic call record records all you phone calls in 1 of 3 ways. once the call is done you can add notes to the call if you want.
1st way is to recored all phone calls
2Nd way is to only record numbers who are in your contacts only
3Rd way to record is to record all calls from numbers that are not in your contacts... New numbers.
Usefull app as I use for my business when taking orders.
Hope this helps.
There are a lot apps by that name. I tried the first 1 but it didn't work. Who created the app? Thanks

its called Automatic Call Recorder by Appliqato..
I have found that SMS Backup & Restore (Ritesh Sahu) works without Root (maybe it always did, just assumed it wouldn't).
I use this app to daily backup all my texts and multimedia messages (inc. cloud backup) and was very happy to find that i was able to restore all my messages from my G2 on to my G4
All in one gestures
I use wave launcher so I can have easy access for most used app quickly from any screen it helps to be able to launch camera quickly https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobilemerit.wavelauncher

Android officially supports internal sound recording for screen recording apps,
I tried tons of screen recording apps but none could record internal audio..
Is this HMD's restrictions or the app's?
I'm currently using AZ screen recorder. It works on some browsers/games.
Not all apps support the audiorecorder method used to capture internal system audio. If you are rooted, the root apps will work but they will disable speakers in order to do so.
