Hey guys I installed forcerom 2.2 a while back and I just noticed all these wav files in my music player. So I decided to delete viper4android but it just won't let me. Its located in /sdcard. Any help will do. I have tried to delete it from my computer and it deletes it but somehow it ends up back in the directory. Is there like an automatic installer I don't know about? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Are you rooted? You can also remove the jingle and animation by deleting the two qmg files in /system/media...it's been awhile but somthing like samsungstartuploop.qmg?

then follow the instructions.....
use Root Explorer and delete:
/system/etc/PowerOn.wav
/system/media/audio/ui/Shutdown_128.ogg
Managed installation with Clockwork and now startup/shutdown is fast and clean.
Thank you, for the zip.

I just add an extra letter to the end of the file extensions and no more noise .

Thanks a bunch! That jingle annoyed the piss out of me.
That jingle is just horrible. Who in their development department thought that was a good idea?? At LEAST they could have made it optional...
Hello all.
I've finally been able to resolve the instability issues iv'e had with custom kernels and roms on the galaxy s4. My current issue is that i've installed [ROM] [TeaM VeNuM] The Blu Kuban S4 (Currently BETA) with the [KERNEL][SPRINT][TOUCHWIZ][5/22/2013] KT-SGS4 - MDL - KTweaker. My only issue is that i can't seem to find the stock internet browser. I tried installing the BrowserProviderProxy.apk(37kb) but it doesn't seem to be the proper file. Anyone know where I could get the file or what browser is compatible with the smart scroll?
The file is SBrowser_SPR.apk.

You don't install it. You need to use a file manager like root Explorer or es Explorer and copy the apk to the system/app folder. Set permissions and reboot.

ya man I was going nuts trying to figure out why it wasn't working. Finally I extracted that from one of the roms around and voila! Works like a charm. I don't have an account where I could upload it, otherwise I would. Same rules apply, paste it in system/app along with sbrowser_spr.apk and permissions rw_r__r__

I tried this but it did not work. I used esExplorer and copied the apks in the /system/app dir and changed the properties of the files to rw- - r- - r- -
But regardless of the apk i attempt to install, they all fail except the BrowserProviderProxy.apk.

It seems to be an Audio Effects Mod. Here is a link to the original post :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
It's a great sound mod that does a bunch to improve your sound. It's included with Blue Kuban but you can also install it on other roms yourself.

Thanks, I did notice It after I ran blue kaban i just thought its odd because if im not mistaken that rom is team venom and I use to run a viper rom on my htc so I. got confused by it
Is there any way to get the cyanogenmod camera without installing the rom? Like I have pa3 and I love this rom and don't wanna switch over to cm just for the camera, so is there like an apk file or zip file to install and use the cm camera on pa3?
Thanks!
Just extract the camera apk from the cm rom and flash it..

You can't flash a apk file. You install it from the phone not in recovery mode.

I didn't mean flash the apk, I meant zip it into the appropriate folders and flash it.

There's no zipping and flashing. You push the apk to system/app/, set permissions and reboot.

Idk how to do any of that :/ what should the camera apk be called? How do I set permissions? Will it still work after I update my rom or flash gapps?

I tried that, couldn't find an answer, so then I posted this thread. Like I found gallery2.apk, went to install it and it didn't install. Then I didn't know what to do after that so I gave up

Giving up won't get you anywhere.
Using a root file explorer, go to system/app/, mount as r/w, and copy that gallery apk to the directory. Set permissions to be the same as the other apk's in the directory. Reboot.

Depends on the file explorer. Usually, long press the apk after copying it, select permissions or similar. They'll need to be set as rw-r--r--.
Searching the cm thread just yielded great results for me by the way.

I think so, I long pressed and tapped on permissions, I got a 3x3 grid and then looked at other apps in the folder, the grids looked the same. I even went into cwm and did the fix permissions thing there also. And ya I tried that, didn't work

Hey all--just wondering why I can't seem to delete the com.teamkang.fauxclock folder from mnt/shell/emulated directory.
I've moved on to a new ROM & I'm trying out a new kernel; no longer have fauxclock app installed. Don't see why I can't remove it now. Any help?

Haha--my thoughts exactly. I've always used CWM since Gingerbread, so I'm wondering if there's any other way?
Okay so I got over myself and flashed TWRP. Now I'm looking at the file manager and I can't find the mnt directory anywhere, so I still can't get rid of the fauxclock folder from mnt/shell/emulated.
Any help?
