Hi
Has anyone experienced that the tablet switches off constantly with out any any specific reason?
I could easily surf or read an email without switching off.. but then i would watch a movie and it switch off instantly or the other way around and its not even shutting down.. it just goes from powered on, to completely switched off.. It does not get hot and it does charge perfectly and the battery level does not drop/discharge radically.. it has never been dropped or manhandled. and it started doing last week
I'm on stock 3.2 PDA:KMP CSC:KMP (XAB), not rooted..
Any ideas, suggestions?
Thanks in advance
I suggest you to discuss your matter from where have you bought the notebook as there might be some problem in hardware

I used to own a Galaxy Tab plus 7.0, which experienced this known problem of random reboot and/or sleep of death. You could google that to find out more.
I've since returned it for a refund. Then I picked up this used P7500 a month ago. It has not experienced not even one reboot. Sure, apps do crash from time to time, but the OS never completely froze.
How long have you owned your unit? If relatively new, I would returned it. If for a while, and only recently you experienced the problem, then I would do a factory wipe, or at least re-trace your steps and uninstall the last few apps. Also, ask yourself whether the problem is already related to certain apps. If so, get rid of those apps.
hi
Did a complete wipe.. so now its close as possible to factory default..
Could it be a battery calibration error? it works plugged in to either pc or wall socket.. works 10min after but then switches of randomly
Thanks for all the help/suggestions so far really appreciate it!
I know some mentioned the option of returning it.. But its bought in the US and im located in Denmark!

Hi, just got my S4 and have tried it for a couple of hours now.
Is it just me or is the phone somewhat sluggish and slow in the animations? Are anyone else experiencing this?
Its like it is stuttering when I open or close a program or opens the menu with my apps..
I have tried to disable some of the obvious apps that I won’t be using (chaton.. etc). But still, it has some hiccups when sliding and just using it..

*s4 over heating solved.Hey im new to XDA, I had my samsung s4 3 days ago. Original not the octa core. I have had problems with my phone over heating when im browsing or sending a text, watching vids ect. Also my phone has randomly reset a good few times, I think because its over heated. I got really frustrated and looked on line for help and found nothing.... soo I figured it out for my self.*Step 1: back up anything u need. Contacts... pictured .. vids ect.step 2. Do a factory reset and wipe everythingstep 3 set up the phone as normal. Sign in to your samsung account then google all from the set up screens.step 3. When u are all set up and have reached the home screen there will b a message at the top on the pull down notification bar saying samsung push. DO NOT CLICK AND UPDATE THIS. I have found that this is the problem with the phone over heating. If u update this then u will also get incouraged to update samsung apps + samsung hub. ALSO DO NOT CLICK ON SAMSUNG APP OR SAMSUNG HUB.. i reset my phone 4 times to try different things and this worked. I can nkw watch you tube vids. Brows the net play games ect. Yes my phone gets warm but not boiling like it used to and also my phone has not reset by its self no more. so just remember on the pull down notification bar it will say samsung push! Dont click on it, just click clear and ignore it. I have emailed samsung my solution and they said they will look into it. So do this untill they release a new update... who uses samsung push. Samsung app and hub anyway? Not me.. good luck and let me know how you get on

Thanks pal, i will try this. It's really a big issue for all S4 ussers.
Hello guys,
I let my Nexus 4 charging, and when it was done, I removed the charging cable and just let it on my table. I was watching a movie and I didn't even touched the phone.
When I unlocked the phone, my battery was showing 93% with only 2h after disconnecting the charger, and the app with most battery consuption is Google Keep
I've attached a screenshot.
And also I've noticed that my device is hotter. And I can't uninstall Google Keep (I use Evernote and Springpad instead of Keep), I think it's a built in app in the Android 4.3
My Nexus 4 is 4.3 with Stock ROM and Kernel.
Anyone knows what is going on?
Thanks!

Yes you can uninstall Google keep if you are rooted. If you dont want to root just try rebooting and if you find this problem still persisting make a factory reset.
Press thanks if I helped you. :good:
If you are not rooted and you don't use Keep you can go to
settings>apps>all apps>Keep> disable
Hope this helps.

Thank you! This solved my problem, first I've uninstalled all the updates of Google Keep, and it already fixed the problem, and then I've disabled it just to be sure Looks like some newer updates of Keep are bugged in some devices
I know your issue has been resolved by disabling the app, but looking at your first screenshot it could have been a sync issue. Your screenshot showed no data connection so Keep may have been trying to sync in the background and keeping your phone awake since there was no connection.
just got my S5 last week..and since ive had it i have to do constant battery pulls..
for some reason either it locks up OR the screen simply goes black and the only way to get it back up and running is to do a battery pull.
any idea as to why this would happen and/or a possible fix?
t.i.a :good:
I haven't had any problems with mine except i had the camera fail, then replaced with new phone, but since no problems. But I have most if not all bloat frozen, and anything else that I don't need I have disabled that too.
I'm going to knock on wood as I write this, and say I haven't had any issues with mine.

You can force stop APS, settings> applications>application manager. Scroll to the right to all. Select on one and stop it.
Also, I think it's all the bkoatware and 4.4 bugs in general. My 4.2/4.3 S4 never had These issues rooted on aosp ROMs, let alone brand new stock

You can disable them also so that they don't start. And as you can see from these screen shots they are disabled/turned off. These are the ones that I have disabled:
thank you both..i just frooze a ton of apps!
lets see how this plays out.
Hey, so lately I've been experiencing incredibly fast battery drain, I am confused of why this is happening, I rooted my phone and tried doing some things to improve it, but that didn't help. When I first got my phone the battery was extremely good. I've just recently flashed stock firmware but it's still terrible, does anyone know any tips or tricks, maybe the root of my problem? I'll drop some screenshots as well.

Try running "diagnose" under Smart Doctor and see if it comes up with a misbehaving app.

You should try update system apps from dedicated menu.
This does not look THAT bad. Really.
Snapchat... Facebook Messenger... Facebook dedicated app.
Also that battery monitor crap. Anything else similar to that installed?
These are true battery suckers, also try dealing with QuickMemo+ app, as previously mentioned.

You've got a point, will remove one of the battery monitors. I seem to be some improvement after the QuickMemo+ trick.
Although I really don't know any good Facebook & Facebook Messenger replacements. Those I tried were just not giving me full performance and they're not looking good.
Isn't there a way to disable Quickmemo+ without root ?

I'm experiencing the similar starting this month, and seems like the battery drain comes with heating surrounding the power button, are you seeing the same symptom?

Did you try LG hidden menu trick? To do that, you need to type *#546368#*870# in dialer and you'll see a hidden menu. Then, tap on SVC Menu > LDB > Untick "enable" (both options needs to be unticked) close the menu and restart it. Most of the users says that this method is also useable, you can give it a try.
Hey,i have been experiencing the same thing. For me is like android system and android os and phone idle eat battery as the same time as the screen. So that means i am using the phone and three things at the same time are eating the battery.I went down from 5 hrs sot to 3 and a half.I have done a lot of things like the hidden menu, the quicknote, conserve memory thing.I don't know why it does that and the phone is really heating up.I have not experience this level of heat ever on my g6.I use the h870 europe with january security patch.
You all call this bad backup?? Plz get your phone tested. See my phones's backup.. this backup with no in between charge
sounds like a rogue app, install better battery stats from play store and check results (it will ID apps chowing battery).
