Output seems to be 5W, 2.1 A over two ports. Looks like ~default specifications to me. Should cause no problem.
If you want to double check, take a pic of the output specs that are usually written on the charger and post it. I'll verify.

Its ExtremeMac Universal USB-WAL-11 AC Adapter.
Model: USB-WAL-11
Power Specification, I got from the website.
Input Voltage: 110 V AC
220 V AC
Frequency: 50 Hz
60 Hz
Output Voltage: 5 V DC
Maximum Output Power: 10 W
Very sorry, cannot post a picture , because I am on travel right now and I wasn't able to bring it with me.

This matches your charger perfectly, so no problems.
You can use the xtrememac charger, without any hesitation.

Wondering if these kind of charger has auto shutoff when the battery is full ? I usually leave my phone charging overnight.

Almost all chargers ( unless they're cheap knockoffs ), have auto-off these days.
That charger looks like it's high-quality stuff and they've claimed support for various other devices in the description too (including LG devices).
I think we can be sure that it has auto-off.

Thanks so much for enlightened me thanks for your help and suggestions.

Got myself a nexus 7 ,
Nexus 7
5V / 2.0A
Nexus 4
5V/ 1.2A
XtremeMac USB Dual Charger
5V/ 4.2A
Is this fine? I am bit worried on the Amps.

Understand that, that's over two ports so you use 1 port to charge the phone which is 2.1amp and you'll be charging around 1800mAh so you're going to be fine.

Wall/usb/webtop charging

So the wall sends out 1000 ma and USB sends 500 ma.
What about webtop? Anyone know?

Now that would be interesting. 500,000 volts from a USB. Needs a flux capacitor.

Hey thanks! I already have a dock though.
In my post I asked what the charging output was for the HD dock.
Sent from my Atrix using XDA App
USB 2 is 500ma, USB 3 is 900ma, Moto charger has 850ma rating on it. If you have a USB 3.0 port you can use you'll get enough power from that. I use the 3.0 on my laptop at work, and it charges fine.
How can we find out the charging output of the multimedia dock?

Do the differences matter much? Just one takes longer to charge then the other?

Yes one charges faster that's it. For heavy users like myself, getting the most juice as conveniently as possible is a plus.
I also like to charge my phone on the dock and keep my usb cable in the truck for playing music. I only want to do so if I can find out what the dock is putting out. When I need juice I need it as quickly as possible.

If your only getting 500mA your phone will take hours to charge and then only if your not running wifi, Bluetooth or gps. Use any of those and plugging it in will just prolong discharge but not actually charge it. With just GPS running I pull over 700mA. I'm really tempted to put a female end with resistors (to fool the phone into thinking it’s on AC power or it'll never pull more than 500mA) on a split wire usb mini cable for charging at work.
I finally used my brain and checked my chargers. Here's the specs
Standard charger: 850mA
HD multimedia dock: 1.2A

I think the dock is rated higher to power the usb ports. I bet it still only feeds 500 to the phone for charging. Looks like its back to the cable for charging!

my wall charger is 850ma...
seems like till now there's no way to disable this
Just an update. I think the dock charges as fast as the wall power adapter. Almost certain.

This is interesting as I have issues getting my Atrix to charge in the car dock. I have the ATT boxed car dock with ecomoto dual USB. It simply will not charge in the dock. Connected direct to the car charger and it's super fast to charge. Maybe the ecomoto isn't capable of charging the phone in the car dock.

Is using a different wall charger harmful? I was using my old palm pre wall charger for the first few days and it is rated at 1000mA.

ZaggSparq 6000

I am thinking of buying the ZaggSparq 6000 because it is 50% off for cyber monday. But I wanted to check if it would work for the Nexus 4. They said it wouldn't work with the Nexus 7 Tablet so I was worried it would be the same
http://www.zagg.com/accessories/zaggsparq.php?default=6000
Why wouldn't it work for the Nexus 4? If it's able to charge other smartphones, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to charge the Nexus 4. It should work perfectly fine.

I assumed it would be because the charger couldn't supply enough current. I've seen some portable chargers that only output 1-1.5A but the ZAGGsparq has an output of 2.1A. The official N7 adapter has an output of 2A. So I'm stumped.

Well I bought it anyhow just to see how it would turn out for my Nexus 4. Hopefully this doesn't suck like their screen protectors hahaha.. Getting the ZAGGsparq this wednesday. It was nice getting two day free shipping because they offered Amazon as a payment method.

Can I charge my n10 with my Samsung Galaxy S3 charger??

Figured I'd ask to see if that'd be OK before I did some damage.
Also could I do the reverse, charge my S3 with the n10 charger??
Thanks!!

Yes you can. They both use a standard Micro USB charger. Any other previous blackberry or android phone you may have lying round will also work
Sure you can.. But it might charge slowly if the power adapter isn't able to output 2A @ 5v

I use a universal 5V/1A usb charger. No problem.
I think shouldn't be an issue. The original charger was rated 1.2a. I managed to find my old n97 charger with the same rating. Make sure the output voltage is the same (5v)and you should be fine.

[Q] Can i use this to charge my nexus? 5v 3a Converter

Can i use this to charge my nexus 7 in dash in my 2004 wrx? Gonna leave it plugged in all the time as it will be installed in the dash.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/UN3F-Car-Ch...75?pt=US_Power_Inverters_&hash=item41775672fb
I know the stock charger is 2a, does 1 more amp make a difference?
The Nexus 7 like most devices has a current limiter on board so a 3 amp 5 volt supply will be fine.

3a is a max current, not a working current so it should be ok.
If it were me, I would have the 5 volt supply on a switched circuit. Charging while the car is running will keep it topped up, and I am leary of leaving any battery always charging.
