Just wanted to see if you guys that listen to metal have any sound mods installed, and which settings work best for you. I mostly listen to black metal and it's various sub-genres but haven't really found a mod or settings that works well for me yet.
ViPER4Android is a very good mod for any and all music.

Hi there I want to know if there's a way to disable the headphones jack hw , like in build prop or something. Since I can't unplug it by opening my n4.
I will appreciate a lot. My jack is bad I prefer not to use headphones than dealing with the crap of not hearing during call or no screen off.
Thanks

I was looking at sys/bus , but I see that in /system is where the drivers are. I donĀ“t want to disable all the audio things! Just the headset. I have to find out wich one is it.
Thanks!
I had an iPhone 4 and now I have a Nexus 4. When I hear music with headphones beats by dr.dre iPhone would hear fine but now I can not hear a clean sound.

Lose the overrated headphones and get something cheaper and better!
I heard that have an app that fixes the problem.
Is that true?
Go to the play store and do a search for eq apps, play around with the settings until your happy with the sound and also try out your ear buds you got with the iPhone and see how they sound.
I've found the nexus 4 to be quite flat in terms of eq and that's a good thing in my opinion.

Flash a custom kernel and download FauxSound. The best.
Also, lose the beats lol

best advice I've seen, buy yourself a decent set of headphones and the problem is solved.
Once rooted is there any apps or mods or anything to help the audio sound a little better? I was used to Voodoo on my nexus s 4g. Thanks for any insight.

Poweramp. As for other apps that require root access for audio manipulation, I wouldn't know. I've found the sound of the S4 to be great as it is.

Hey peeps, all i want is to increase headphone volume, add a torch short cut and maybe increase the camera quality (if possible)
do I need a custom ROM for this or can I flash a zipfile or something ?
For the headphone volume all you need is a custom kernel I think

You can do those things with the xposed framework and gravitybox.

Franco's kernel is good

Franco's doesn't support 4.3, does it?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Just download franco.kernel from the playstore and autoflash it.It will download and install lastest kernel.Yes it suports 4.3
Also with Hells kernel you can increase the headphone volume.

For higher volume, use a lower impedance headphone or buy a new phone or buy a dedicated headphone amplifier. Torch shortcut, just download any flashlight app, they usually come with a home screen widget. Increase camera quality, buy a new phone. Sorry, couldn't be more helpful.

Can anyone recommend a good audio app for the s5, I used to use voodoo but it hasn't been updated in over a year, just wondering if there is a good quality alternative that's in development.
Don't mind if it's free or paid for as long as it works and does the job ?

With root? Then look for "Viper4Android" It's on XDA too.

Flash a kernel that supports Fauxsound.
What I am trying to achieve is Spotify comes through quiet via the hdmi in my car, on Bluetooth it's fine but I use the hdmi for touchscreen on my head unit, so would like to increase it via the hdmi, I've installed viper but the car is in the garage having some custom made bell housings done so I won't be able to test it till next week.
I'll test fauxsound after, I have used fauxsound before but I was just to increase speaker loudness on the phone itself.
