[Q] [GT-S6102][CPU SPEED] Safe maximum clock speed? - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to tweaking my device, which is a Galaxy Y Duos (GT-S6102) running the stock ROM.
Can anyone please tell me what is a safe maximum clock speed for the device? I am planning to set it with setCPU or a similar app.
Also, does this change from kernel to kernel, or is it dependent only on the hardware of the device?
Thanks in advance
P.S: I searched in xda and in Google for a satisfactory answer, but was unable to find one.

Yes, it does change with what kernel you're using.

I think this has been said many times..QUESTIONS or QUERIES shouldn't go in the GENERAL SECTION...if you got a doubt then ask it in the Q&A section, you will receive the help more faster.....please have a look at the FORUM RULES Better luck next time.

Thanks.
The thread was appropriately moved by a mod. I'll try to be more careful the next time. At 9 posts (plus all the restrictions that it brings), I am still yet to learn a lot of things, and learn to get going with the general no-nonsense attitude of xda.

Firstly: I recommend Juwes ROM 4.2 it ticks your boxes
Secondly: Brace yourself for learning curve which comes with XDA especially applicable to posting in the right section...
Good luck

Well flashing a custom rom means to put another rom in your phone which is better and faster than the original stock 2.1 or 2.2 roms!! many bugs are removed in the custom roms!!

[Q] Installing Kernel

Hello Guys,
I'm a new member here and i wanna know more about rooting and installing ROM on my X8, it is already rooted but i wanna know what on it and how to use my phone to the fullest
So guys can anyone please help me how to install the KERNEL on my phone, i am really confused about that because of the REQ, needed by some of the ROM's.
Please Help
(Assuming you know how to flash)If you want to install a kernel then get kernel manager lite. After that flash it. Once your phone reboots use whatever cpu app you use (I use cpu master) and you can overclock your phone to however much your kernelgoes up to. For installing a rom you must do the same thing but either donwload a rom from rom manager or download a rom on your pc and transfer it to your phone.

It is a simple job.

wrong sectionnn!!
1.read first all sticky threads from all sections (are the top ones with the pin...)
2.if you have a question, type it on xda site search field and if don't find your answer there, then open a thread
3.the question threads are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1218
4.and when you want to visit the x8 xda forums, start from here(also, some legends say is highly recommended to save it in bookmarks of your browser): http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=846

[Q] Just Rooted My N4 What Next?

Hello X-da community stoned_pirate here and I guess I will gingerly call myself a developer. Well Im learning all about the develop process. So I just rooted my phone and it was a success. Watched a vid by mskip, boy does he simplify things a lot. So ive also installed goo manager I heard the name in the vid. So do I flash a kernel next or rom? Can I do this from goo manager? A simple break down of whats next would be kindly appreciated.
Thx,

No real breakdown of whats next since thats up to you. May I suggest you go to wiki page for our phone or check any of the stickies in development or general and simply read up on your phone. Many choices for you! Quite a few roms and many more kernels, read up and see which ones you like
since you mentioned it. Flash rom first, Kernel second.
OK so I need to flash s ROM and then kernel. Will this allow me to utilize 4glte when possible? Also can I flash a ROM and kernel from goostore?

no. you need to do some modification first before you can use lte on tmobile or any other company that uses band 4 lte(not very common). look in the lte thread for instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211618
btw, after reading this, i cant even gingerly call you a developer. first thing that you need to do is start reading up about whats available or even basic procedures. starting a thread asking people where to start will not do you any good.

Post-root s7e 935t issue!

Hi xda.users
I've recently rooted SM-G935T and I know a lot of fellas out here are waiting for a stable AP file.
I know for sure this has been asked hundred times but I just CANT FIND A DIRECT TO POINT ANSWERS ON THIS....
But overall and briefly...
1. How do I speed up/fix lag after rooting? Either Kernel Toolkit or TRICKSTER MOD Kernel Settings?
2. How can I lower temperature in general without affecting my device?
3. After BusyBox, build.prop Editor and Titanium Backup, what other apps should I download to increase performance(speed, reduce lag, and free RAM?)
Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate your kind and brief response.
