Which backup do you use? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Which backup app do you use and why?
Trying to find myself a good app to backup my pics/documents/videos/etc.
**I am NOT talking abut backing up apps. I use Helium for that, awesome app and highly recommended!!**

I use Drive for documents, Keep for random notes, and Picasa automatically syncs my pictures and videos.

Always Drive. I have 105 GB of space on there so why not use it

I'm old fashioned and believe what Woz thinks about cloud storage. Also this NSA crap lately, I have a 64gb xdhc micro SD card for backup. I think the cloud is a farce. Lots of people love it, but it just isn't for me.

Depends how much space you have on them, if you have say 10 gigs on dropbox and 50 gigs you could use dropbox for pictures/documents etc.. and drive for what ever else, like dev hosting but if you have more space on say drive you would most likely use drive -_-

Are you on drugs? He wasn't asking about anything improper.
@OP it can vary from game to game, but normally it is the internal card. If you hunt aroud however, there might be some methods of changing the location of game data.
Dude I'm gonna buy it in a shop near my house and was asking that will the game data download directly on external sd or no that's it............

M8 this is your solution if you are a gamer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234
i have a 64gb and 40 free. using the mod that i have sais. really to use to.
I used GL to SD for most of my games (game loft mostly) - works fine, does take a while to transfer from internal to external though (varies obviously depending on the size of data).

Hes talking about the GAME DATA. Do you even read ? When you instal a game, it downloads data, he wants the data to go in the external sd.

You should really try and read the posts before getting on your high horse.
The app you're looking for is "directory bind".
The thread is here somewhere...it's moves your big apps and games to sd card.
Works great on my s3.

some have tried it and reported working. but still the OP of that thread will update it when official JB comes out. it should be working though cause it only need an kernel with init.d support.
If you can't get directory bind to work you've doing something wrong. It's as simple as that.

Photoshop Touch apk

When I flashed into CM10 on my GNote, I forgot to backup Photoshop. Would someone be so kind as to make a Titanium Backup and shoot me the APK?
I don't think this is allowed... seeing as how PS touch is a paid app. You can always reflash stock and backup the APK from there.

I was trying to avoid that to save time and energy. I bought the device and therefore the app. I can see not wanting to post it live here for piracy reasons, but a pm with a drive link would be nice.

Copy cloud storage

OK so I don't know about others but I personally have gone through two sd cards running sdbswap on beans. I finally decided to backup stuff online too and found a great free option. Its called copy and it has an android app as well as desktop app. You get 15 GB free, plus, and here is the kicker, for everyone you refer if they sign up and install the app you get an extra 5gb. I already have 22 GB as I signed my wife up without asking he he. Anyways I will post a referral link. You sing up and install app on phone or computer and boom you have 20 GB free storage, and I get 5gb more too. Also there is no cap on referalls so you can get a tb if you know that many friends for free. https://copy.com?r=mAwZHm

It's been working petty smooth for me. The update did say to clear your app data before updating. That might help.
And the ui is different, but it does look and feel more modern and it feels more smooth.

I just thought of Tapatalk as the Mercedes Benz of forum browsers lol.
I had some problems too with loading the subscribed forums after I updated. I just uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and all is good again. I tried both the tapatalk and this xda app, and honestly I love the xda app way better. IMHO. The investment in the xda pro app is deffinetly worth it.
