Apparently there are many Google Edition roms on the development sections.
Do they actually have any differences?
Any suggestions on which one to try?

All of them are based on the same dump (lol:ed at that one (fell like I'm five)), so just use the one with working wifi and faux kernel (allows you to both overclock and undervolt). :good:

As the title says...i have one simple question...can we have the semitransparent or transparent navbar for the nexus 4 (JB 4.2.2 JDQ39) stock rom?after a few researches i found this mod for the Galaxy Nexus (JB 4.1.1) not for Nexus 4.So...can someone make it for our beloved Nexus 4?If the admin thinks that this thread is not ok for this forum please delete it.Thanks
From my experience, using the ROM supporting transparent navbar is better than using the mod.

Probably...but I like to be as stock as possible. Custom ROM`s like Paranoid and many other are great...but they have a lot of things that i don`t like or use them.So I rather install separately only the MOD`s that i like/use. Thanks for your reply!

Whoops, didn't see that. But maybe you could ask in that thread (or even contact the dev). There wouldn't have to be too many changes, I think, as this is no kernel/hardware mod, just ROM/firmware.

Because the information has been published for well over a year and there really is no sense in replicating existing information.
And, this is the Development Forum for ROM's, Kernels, Hacks etc, for users to post their works.
Soooo..... with that said my dear friends....

People using the sources are developing things.

yes but using that logic we can post everything here, for example if i include a list of apps, ,maybe that apps could be used for development? i understand you but i don't think like you

Hello, is there any safe method of root and some good rom type cyanogenmod?. Thank you.
+1 for this. I would like to see a stock Android ROM and would donate to help development.
We currently don't have any kernel sources for this device and not so many people have it, so I think a custom ROM is a question of future.

Custom ROMs already exist, I found them on a Russian forum. I'm on mobile right now, will dig up a link tomorrow.

This custom ROM is just a slightly modded EMUI, based on Russian or Chinese official firmware. It doesn't require building from sources and differs only in built-in root, some pre-installed apps and custom boot animation. It's not what topic starter wants.

I may be wrong here but I read hauwei provides kernel sources on demand (http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/huawei-provide-kernel-source-code-t3328551). May be we should mail them asking for sources ?

You may have a try, why not? I'm not a ROM developer and I can't say I don't like EMUI (I wouldn't buy the tablet then). If someone gets the sources, it could speed up the development of something more pure-Android. People on 4PDA would be thankful to anyone who brings such a thing and possibly will help developing something.
As for me, I'd better dig into EMUI properties and flags. (/cust folder, etc...)
As xiaomi has released the kernel source,is it possible that we'll see some development of this mobile? And official custom rom supports?
