Of all the apps available for the multi-window capability, how do we add an app that is not shown onto that list when you EDIT the slider? For ex: the Yahoo Mail app. Do i need to contact the developer to ask that they allow multiwindow capability within the application itself?
thanks in advance! Pete

MultiWindow Manager, but it requires you to be rooted. Just keep in mind that adding apps that don't support MW may not work as expected.

Hi all, I am trying to develop a widget that works similar to the App Folder that comes standard with android. The functionality is that you can drag and drop apps into a folder so that your homescreen is a bit more organized. Is it possible to create a widget that can accept a drop of another application?
I have done a lot of searching on google and have come up short. Any help is appreciated.

AFAIK, there's no way of doing this except with building your own home screen launcher since (most) Android launchers move widgets out of the way if you drag a shortcut on them (JB+) and do not pass any event or call to the widget (all versions).
You can, however, create that Widget and in the setup screen show a check list with all apps so the user can choose there which apps they want in the folder.

That's a good idea. :good:
Yeah, as far as I know there is no way to do this, too.
Thanks guys. I do currently have an app Chooser available to populate my current widget. I was just looking for a way to make it easier to add apps to the widget.
After searching around and trying different things I figured it wasn't possible but never found any info good or bad so I figured I would ask the experts.
Thanks again for your help! :good:
So when I am on my s7 edge (edge apps) and i go to tasks edge. I click the settings tab, on bottom left. Then go to that edge panel and click the bottom pencil(edit) Once there it says on top left( once you add shortcuts to homescreen from within apps they will appear here) so how do I do this? I I can't find any way to make these shortcuts? Any help?
One way is with an app called Awesome Icons. You may also want to install the Touchwiz Icon pack if you are using the stock icons. Also, you may may want to try QuickShortcutMaker. These effectively let you add App shortcuts to Task Edge.
Thanks georgeP,
I figured since it was there and mentioned that Sammy would have had a means of doing it. I will try the above mentioned. Thanks again

I added a couple of things there using Nova launcher but I can't remember how I did it.... Does anyone else have a solution for this? A google search only takes me to this thread.
Sorry to "me too" spam but I haven't found a way yet, either. The QuickShortcutMaker certainly makes shortcuts but I don't see how to put them to the Tasks Edge.
i need to put there messenger contacts, whatsapp contacts, telegram contacts but i can't...there is a way ?
Hi I also want to add more shortcuts to the Edge Tasks panel. so BUMP

One simply need to add the needed shortcut(s) to any page of the *Touchwizz Laucher*
After that it become available to add in the tasks panel
It works even if you use an alternative launcher: one just need to temporary switch to Samsung launcher to create the shortcut
Oncethe shortcut is added to the panel, you don't even need to keep it on the launcher desktop.
I am/was a fan of the simple contact widget for a direct dial and direct sms on nearly any Android phone I used in the past. However, it is annoyingly not there on the Le Pro. What are some alternatives, I would prefer to install 1 app that can do both to reduce clutter.
Or better yet, am I blind and is the contact widget hidden or have to be enabled somehow?

I had Nova launcher installed on my old phone with some direct dial shortcuts added to the home screen. So, when switching to Le Pro 3, I just backed up and restored my Nova settings and voila, everything was transferred, including direct dial shortcuts. Only later I found out that there is no way to add them directly

I found a contacts app in the System Tools folder. Not sure if that's what you meant by "widget" when you referred to installing an app.
Hi there,
does anybody know if it is possible to set a shortcut for a website on the EPD screen?
There is a widget where i can select apps from a list.
But i just want to set a shortcut for a website like Dropbox or Newspapers so that i can select it directly on the EPD.
thx
The answer isn't straightforward, essentially what you're looking for is a pointer to website, but in the apps drawer so you can pick it up from the EPD's app launcher menu. Android doesn't do that natively, and a typical shortcut application would only allow shortcut on home screen.
A rather intriguing method would be to create shortcuts with Tasker and then install them as app. Definitely worth a shot. Someone might have a better answer though.
It is not that easy as i thought.
There is an App called Yotabelt, which should allow this, but no chance. It does not open anything.
So, i guess, i'll have to find a way to get a shortcut into the apps list.

Yeah if important apps got removed from whitelist automatically I couldn't get notifications from those apps.
