White Nexus S

New white Nexus S pics leaked. what do you think? i copied this over from AndroidCommunity.com http://bit.ly/hS1z34
It appears that the BestBoyZ are at it again. Over in Germany there's been a leak of a supposed white-backed Samsung Nexus S. This Google phone has been the firecracker of the past few weeks as far as speed and overall fun factor go here in the states, now it's in white? Man, it's like they're in there own little world, these Google phones.

Is white the new white? Case color offerings seem to be all the rage these past few weeks, with several phones leaking the idea that their battery covers, back cases, and entire cases would be offered in more than just black. This Nexus S appears to have only a white back with a black front, giving it a rather unique look for such an already-wild device.

Me too. I hope they start selling battery covers. If someone started selling different colors on eBay, they would make a killing.

The power button and the volume rocker (Im assuming) is white as well. I will be grabbing one as well as soon as it becomes available.

Don't like it. Love the sleek all black look of the current NS.

I think it would be cool to put a black back on this, so you have a black NS with white buttons. Panda Edition.

but i love white phones and wished the whole thing was white , i think they left the front black so that way when u have the dark wallpapers you cant see the differnce in screen and phone witch i love... if it was all white i would be down to trade no problemo... long live the nexus one still best all around i think...

Definitely loving the white back! It's like a yin-yang sorta thing.

i took some time to think about it, but i prefer it all black.

Wouldn't "Panda Edition" be all white with black buttons?

Not a fan of white phones but it would look better if the whole phone was white.

SGS2 - Black or White?

This may seem a bit odd but I'd still like to hear your opinions please...
I've had a black sgs2 for a couple of months, rooted and custom ROM etc.
My other half has just received a white sgs2 upgrade but she rather keep he old Nokia and has given me the opportunity to keep it and sell my black one...
Which one do i keep (without considering white one may sell for more etc)?

I think the white one sells for alot more because its newer and not rooted/custom roms.
But its all personal preference, if you like the white one more, then keep the black one

Wouldn't have thought it would be worth more cause of the colour. If it does make more I would definitely trade that few pound for the classy white look. I've got the white one and bought some skins for it. My favourite being white sgs2 with a black vented cover. Looks really smart with the white showing thru the black vent wholes. Just my opinion and preference, but hope this helps mate!

I was really really disappointed in Samsungs galaxy S II white version. The colour and feel with the silver aluminium on the phone looks tacky and cheap. They did an awesone job with the Galaxy S white version. That one was actually called i9000 ceramic white.....whereas the sgsII really doesn't look like a 500pound phone ....

OP find out if its has NFC, and if you fancy such a device then sell yours.
One other thing is it the 16GB or 32GB?.

Its a UK phone from 3 network - 16GB...I don't think it has NFC! Is it likely to be locked? Can I unlock without rooting?

i have the Black one, and my Brother has the white i don't like the battery cover the black one comes with.. if anyone would like to supply me a source for a plastic gloss back cover as on the white one ill be very grateful

I went with the white, looks awesome

My friend bought a white unit about the time i bought a black one a few months ago. His phone looks off-white now..

I have the black, white, and transparent Cruzer cases for my GNex. The black and transparent cases held up very well all these months, but the white one not so much. Alsmost immediately it began to "absorb" dirt and within a month or so it became really diry looking. There is no way to clean it unfortunately, at least I haven't been able to.

They always have this deal. I much prefer the feel of the material Diztronic uses. Also not a fan of the huge android on the back. I am more than aware of what operating system my phone runs.

Ah OK well I was going to order one last week and they didn't have a deal so i waited. I like diztronic also but I wanted the aokp one it supports the from and I'm all for that.

Silver to Black attempt

I bought the HTC One in silver since it was the only colour stocked by O2. But i do really prefer my phones in black so tried making a sticker for the front and back. Here's my attempt, its not perfect but what do you guys think?

I don't think so. You can see some air bubbles under the sticker and the seams from the white dividers on the top and bottom

Can you describe how you did this and or sell a kit? This would make me feel better about pre-ordering a silver One.

Im a part time graphics designer and have access to a vinyl plotter and endless types of vinyl. So i got to work by creating a template of the front/back for the plotter, loaded the matt black vinyl and let the plotter do the rest.
The hard part was measuring every aspect of the fone, as you can see for the front camera n sensors I got the measurements slightly wrong.
In the future i would love to try carbon fiber vinyl on this.

The main thing is, the surface is not shiny.
That's why I always liked the phones from HTC (my One is on the way )

I think a matte sky blue...a la Volvo's blue in their performance line...but matte or satin would look amazing on the One.

Only the 64gb model? The photos on droiddoes.com and motorola.com both have branding on the nylon.

Good point.. looks like the 64GB model is the only one that doesn't have the VZW branding.

Pictures I've seen so far show no logo on all the nylon models. Just the MGF.
My guess is that the logos are embossed onto the MGF, but Verizon probably didn't bother to have a badge stamped out for the nylon models. Would probably cost too much to have it made than it's worth. The websites just show it for promotional purposes I suppose.

I just swung by the Verizon store near work on my break to see if they had one out on the floor yet and they didn't. Guy said they will on Thursday.
I thought I saw one, but it was just a red Droid Maxx. If the MGF is anything like the red back on that thing (slippery shiny plastic) there is no way I will get MGF. The texture on the nylon looks and probably feels sooooo much cooler. it sort of reminds me of the back of the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G (the longest, dumbest name for a phone ever) that my girlfriend had. It was neat because it was just enough texture to be unique, but not really distracting.

Also, on Engadget's hands on it shows the 64gb version with the logos too.
EDIT: I see the verizon logo is missing, that is weird!?

Ah sorry, I forgot to specify. I meant the Verizon logo on the back. The Droid logo is definitely still there though.

I am so freaking in on this beast!! 64 gig all the way. That will be plenty for me. I've made do with 32 gigs no problem. and the nylon one with that droid badge with a touch of read. This phone was made for me. I'm still a little shocked at the price for what they packed in this thing. What a steal!
