What app do you guys use for the camera? I have tried stock, Motorola apk and STRATEGISTs AOSP Modded Camera, however haven't found the perfect one
Don't use sphere mode, so no need for that. I love the overall UI of stock, but I hate not being able to use volume/power as a shutter button + no burst or timer mode and too few scenes. The AOSP mod has the ability to use power as shutter, but it's badly implemented when it locks the phone or the shutdown menu shows + no quick settings for scenes.
Do you guys have a favorite camera app for the nexus 4?
Btw I am running PA3.60 (with the included kernel), so mods are welcome.
Camera JB+
Its what i use, and exactly what you need.
it has time, volume as shutter and burst
Try snap camera HDR. It looks like the stick camera with tons of extra features.

On my rom does not work correctly.
The picture is constantly turned and did not find tuning to fix it.
Not bad but not uninstall the application and wait for better version.
ya.. camera is not yet completely fixed on ICS ...
Panorama Mode not working for me
Also a feature: set functions for Volume keys.
Like Autofocus and Shutter
Greets!
still using this camera app as my main camera app. Like the simplicity much better than lg camera, and it takes just of good of pictures. +1
nice app works well
On lg optimus one, cyanogen 7.2rc1 preview is rotate on left in camera and video, while correct
on panorama
Which Camera app do you Use ?
I have tried quite a few but mostly I use Stock and Camera Zoom FX.
2.Camera ZOOM FX
3.Pro HDR Camera
4.Camera FV-5 Lite
6. I forgot to add CameraPro
7. ProCapture - camera + panorama
Stock camera is one of the best for pictures.
I use Pro HDR and HDR Camera+ for HDR.
Camera FV-5 for creating burst panoramas, and lgCamera for movies only.
wrong section post in Q & A section... I use Camera 360
Camera zoom fx saw it on iPhone as well.

Stock one. I think it's functional enough since I don't like effects and filters. Just downloaded the 4.2 camera. Hopefully it'll be as good as the say.

As the title says I've used a Galaxy S3 for a year and just now I jumped the wagon into the Note line but I used to take macro shots at a daily basis but with this camera there's just no option and in auto mode it isn't as macro as it should be, why is this feature gone? Do you guys have any solution?

Different Camera app.
I ditched Stock Camera because there's no Manual mode. (or if there is I haven't found it.) I'm a photographer, I don't need some idiot in a factory choosing the settings for me...
Ditto, sometimes I just want to do it by myself and this camera is neither for average Joe's or for us what app are you using?

ProCapture. It doesn't have an ISO setting (which is irritating), but it does have most other settings. I don't bother looking for an aperture or shutterspeed setting on a mobile device as those settings have little function on a smartphone, but for the everyday use, this app functions best out of all I've tried.
Plus it has a mute setting. It is rather slow at 13MP in terms of saving, though.
I've also got PhotoFX Zoom, ShotControl and FV5 installed.
Truth be told I haven't managed to find a perfect camera app for photographers. Funny how all of android is customisable and user-controlled... except the camera, which appears to be aimed at the average iSheep.
Focal (by Chainfire) looks promising, but is a rather unstable Beta.
If anyone has any suggestions, please do share. Spare me the 'effects-cameras' though. I know how to use Photoshop. Something that works with RAW files would be absolutely ideal.
I've been testing out several (15 total) camera apps and NONE can handle; indoor, low light, and no flash photos using all default setting like G2 stock camera app. Please test out your favorite camera apps vs G2 in low light conditions and confirm this, but also try out a few awesome camera apps I've been testing out.
1. FOCAL (read on CM controversy and they just fixed FC issues)
2. ProCapture (check out Fibonacci Spiral composition)
3. Camera FV1 ( overrides brightness, huge menu and 5+ second custom exposure and manual focus)
4. Camera Zoom FX (FX)
5. Pudding Camera (full of artistic live filters)
6. Perfectly Clear (after photo fixer)
7. Camera360
8. CameraMX
9. Camera Fun
10. LGCamera
11. FxCamera
12. Nemus Camera
13. Paper Camera
14. 4.4 KitKat camera
15. Cymera

I've tried a couple too. Not all of the ones I listed but a few. The only one that comes close for me is fv-5.

Try camera awesome, its 2.99 but IMO well worth it. I'm not sure if it's compatible with stock yet, but it will let you install on any aosp ROM and backup and install on stock. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just thought it worked really well on PA and cm vs the other options. I'm also nowhere in the vicinity of knowledgeable about photos, but they look good to me and it's quick with a lot of options.

Do we know if the camera performs better on something like CyanogenMod instead of the stock software?
First day with this fabulous device. Came from Note 7. The only disappointment so far is the camera, especially low light. I'm wondering if it's just the app itself. I downloaded LIGHTROOM and I'm getting better results but has anyone found another camera app that works well?
Sent from my ZTE A2017U using XDA-Developers mobile app
"A Better Camera" seems to take better quality pictures in low light (just testing it at my desk). It crashes on setting image size in the setting though (but not from the in app menu).
However, it's video function doesn't let you set resolution/rate and such like the built in app.

People seem to like "snap camera" app the most especially on low light. Maybe you can try this.

The Best Camera app I use is "Camera FV-5" its only a Camera not a video recorder though, its a professional camera soo yeah
Camera Zoom fx premium
None of these seemed to make a difference for me. Mist be the hardware.

1) As a general point, low light photography is the weak point of the Axon 7 camera
2) You can try open camera. I have had good results. It is a free open source app
One thing i found just by mistake, was if you tap on where you would like to focus in low light conditions it will turn on nightmode and give slightly better picture.
Anyone able to extract the stock camera app?
Can u use Google camera ?

I was not impressed with Snap camera's low light performance. I actually think it's worse than the stock camera app.
Cinema fv-5 for better video
And the app called: 'a better camera' for better pictures

Yes, Google camera works great... Not any improvement in quality, but works great. Not like it did on the Nexus 6P (not able to swipe to change from camera to video, have to use swipe-out menu).
If you have the ZTE camera open, then try to open Google camera (or any other), you'll get an error the camera is in use by another app.

You should be able to extract it from any of the stock system partition images -- either direct from ZTE's files or from DrakenFX TWRP backup versions.

The default camera app already has the best options for low light. It's just a trade-off between shutter speed and grain. You can use SUPER NIGHT mode or ISO100 mode in manual to get less grain but you have to hold still to avoid blur. SUPER NIGHT seems to make a composite to reduce blur though.
Any sample shots using super night mode?
Zte is not using the CameraApi2 so you won't get the same quality with a 3rd party camera app.
I've personally found that HDR works quite well in low light, sometimes making the shot look brighter than real life. The only annoying part is keeping the phone steady to avoid blur.
