Some guidance about back ups please: - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got my Nexus 4 at the weekend and I've rooted it and I'm running Paranoid Android. I'm trying to figure out how best to create a back up solution that covers the following:
1, Backup a full "snapshot" of the whole phone as it is right now. The rom, apps, logins, wallpaper, icons, nova settings, etc.
2, Store that backup in Dropbox/Box/Drive.
3, Have an option to restore that "Snapshot" to the phone.
4, Have an option to just restore the apps/logins/nova settings, etc. Eg, I download a new rom to try.
I can't quite figure out if I'm best served using one of CWM, Titanium Back Up, Rom Manager or Nandroid or a mixture of more than one them to achieve the solution above.
Regards Dan

What I run at least once a week:
- Titanium backup for apps and their data
- Super Backup for SMS, Contacts, Call Logs
- TWRP to take full backup image
(also System/Settings for backup/automatic restore are set to on)
And once/twice per month I copy everything under /sdcard out from phone. Titanium backup, super backup and TWRP all are making backups under /sdcard and you can also get your photos/videos etc.).
With Titanium backup you can do your step number 4. and with TWRP you can do 1. and 3. and for step 2. you will need ES file explorer or some other client which supports your backup site.

I use Helium. It's great

[Q] Completely restorable backup and apps?

Is there any 100% definitive way to take my phone the way it is now and back it up like a disc image to be restored later on without problems including apps in the right place? I'd like to do this to try out another ROM for a few hours. I just want it to all go back the way it was when I'm done. Is there any backup that will do that flawlessly?
And then is there any way to set Titanium so it doesn't ask you to confirm EVERY SINGLE app installation?
Thanks!
It's called Nandroid backup, and it's done from recovery.
And about Titanium - yes, there is. Buy a license.
Ok on the nandroid backup. Great.
And with Titanium, I DO have the paid version. I can't find the setting that lets you restore without confirmations..?

[Guide] Upgrading to GingerBread without loosing programs and their settings

So - you want to upgrade but don't want to loose all whose stars in Angry Birds and Cut the Rope?
I've used this way:
Backup software used: MyBackup Pro.
1. Check your phone book and move all contacts to your Google account. (This means - if contact shows Phone in Account field you should move it). Enable sync. Wait for sync to complete.
2. Do a Nandriod backup.
3. Do a check restore of Nandroid backup
4. Check if your preffered apps supports internal backup/restore - can be named import/export. Dolphin HD, Apps/Folder organizer, most launchers have it. Do a backup in them.
5. MyBackup - Do full Applications backup (APKs+Data)
6. MyBackup - Do full Data backup (i didn't backup contacts, system settings and android home)
7. Open zipped GingerBread (2.3b2) ROM and put in system/app your preffered APKs for file browsing and MyBackup.
8. Upgrade ROM.
9. Add your Google account in Settings. After sync all your contacts will be in place.
10. MyBackup - Restore Data (again, i didn't restore system settings, etc. Actually i needed only SMS and Call logs)
11. Reboot device.
12. MyBackup - Restore Applications (APKs ONLY!)
13. Reboot device. All databases for apps will be restored in clean state in boot process.
14. Restore settings in apps, that supports internal backup/restore
15. MyBackup - Restore favorite Applictions (DATA ONLY! Exclude apps in p.14)
16. Just in case - reboot again.
Well, it worked for me.
I'm not promoting MyBackup, but IMHO it's much simpler for end user than Titanium.

[Q] Help needed with backup?!

I am new to nexus 4 but not new to android .. with all my phones i experiment with different roms but everytime i change my rom i tack backup of all softwares and data manually and restore it againapp by app(very tedious process).. is there any way or software to do all the backup(call logs, sms, app+data ) and restore it automatically after changing the rom ...
please help
Yes there is. Titanium Backup allows you to back up to SD or cloud. You can backup all apks and data and restore in one go. It's not tedious but takes a little while... obviously.
The pro version of titanium backup allows one touch batch restores.

How to fully backup apps with data and settings (no root)?

Guys, I am really looking to find a solution for a device without root / TWRP / Titanium Backup:
How (the hell) or which application does a full backup of the apps with their data? Titanium Backup was the place to go, and also Nandroid backups were great. But since I don't have root any more, I still have to find a way to backup like in the good old days.
I used Samsung Smart Switch yesterday on my PC to backup, only to discover after a reset that it doesn't backup and revert the app's data... every setting, login, etc. had to be redone from scratch!
The freaking backup solution should also backup the settings and everything of the app...
Tell me there's something for non-rooted users, that can't be!
Thx

Backing up our phones?

Any solid way to make a full backup of our phones yet? I know TWRP backups did not work at one point, and I am not sure if that was ever fixed. I want to install a custom ROM but I want a good way to make a backup so I can revert if necessary.
The way I've always done it is backup apps with Titanium Backup, create a backup file for my Nova home screen setup and upload my media (/sdcard) to GDrive via FolderSync Pro.
For switching ROMs, I just wipe and flash the zips in TWRP and go ahead and restore call logs, texts and apps from Titanium, download my stuff from GDrive and restore my home screen setup from the backup file I create with Nova.
I basically just have to reconfigure any system settings and I'm good to go.
I've heard good things about this app called Migrate on the Play Store but I'm going to stick with Titanium Backup for now as I know it works well for me. Maybe I'll give Migrate a shot one day.
That's pretty much how I do it!
Also, I never restore during the initial setup screen. I always setup device as new as I've heard there can be issues with that when switching between ROMs, especially OOS -> AOSP for example.
U must remove screen unlock before making twerp backup or else you get error when u restore. Also must be sure to select vendor_image and system_image instead of vendor and system.

I always used Titanium backup as well but since I've tried Swift Backup I'm using that. It's so much quicker and more convenient. It backups apps + data, wifi Networks, call logs, Messages etc. You can even sync it with your Google drive.
