I have eclipse on my razr m and was just wondering if there is any way to get rid of the animation that occurs when you press the home button. I feel the phone would feel a lot snappier if it wasn't there. Also for example, if I am in the play store and press open on an app it does the same animation. I would rather it just open the app or go home without doing that animation, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your developer options.
There are options to slow down, speed up, or remove animations.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of checking those settings.

So here is what happened. I downloaded the full version of titanium backup from the app market and proceeded to follow the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bloatware to get a faster, more clean stock rom. I got to the "Home" item and checked in the normal applications menu from the home screen to see if there was a "Home" app of sorts. So I went ahead and froze it and kept going through the apps. Long story short I eventually found out I could not access the home screen and in my nerd rage I rebooted the phone only to find it would not go past the boot screen because it didn't have a "Home" to launch in to.
How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance.
if you can launch the voice command by double pressing home or long pressing search, say "market" and it will launch the market, where you can download a home launcher.

Hey thanks, that's a start! I found that I can get past the "red eye" boot screen if you will by sliding my invisible lock slider over. From there all I have is a black screen and then the notification blind. Unfortunately, your suggestions of accessing the market arent working for me. I had previously mapped my double press home to the dialer, and the long press search errors out giving me a "Connection Problem" pop-up with the options to speak again or cancel. I also notice that I am in flight-mode...

If you are comfortable with using adb, you could probably push an apk into /system/app
If you dig through the development sub-forum I am pretty sure there is a link to the stock system archives. You could push the original blurhome.apk

I have just learned how to do basic adb functions while rooting a co-worker's Milestone, so that won't be a problem. I'll try transfering that and see what happens. Thanks for the tips guys.
It's fixed now! I ended up fixing it by going through the Advanced Task Killer (Froyo edition), clicking on titanium backup, and hitting switch to option to go back into titanium. Thanks for the help
1. First, install the ota updates and reset the device.
2. Then:
' LAG ISSUES CAN BE IMPROVED, READ HERE:
Turn on developer options by tapping "build number" found in the "about" section within options 7 times. Once developer options are turned on, scroll down to window animation transition animation, animator duration and turn each one off. You will notice no more lag for scrolling and exiting apps. To solve the home button issue where there is lag, go to S voice. Once in S voice, hit the menu button left of the home button. Choose to not initiate S voice by double tapping the home button. You will notice considerable changes in speed of the home button to wake up the screen.'
3. Oh yeah and also, don't use Chrome. Get Dolphin Browser. Much faster, no choppiness, and better on the battery.

Does pressing the home button bring up My Magazine like it does on the Note 3? I've disabled this from app settings to remove the home button delay but you can still bring it up by swiping up on home screen.
I don't mean to poop on this thread, but the exact same things were covered on this forum already.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2479320
But if anyone is too lazy to look at another thread, another thing you can do is disable the unlock screen effects and just have a normal unlock screen. The ripple affect takes up about 50+mb of ram and requires CPU and GPU usage for its effects.

I just turned the lock screen off totally. Kind of pointless for me on a 10 inch tablet.
Also I have not done a factory reset for any on the 3 ota updates. Are the improvements that big because mine is pretty snappy as is.

I have not needed to perform any factory resets either. My tablet has been fine.

As far as I am briefly see, that thread doesn't cover entering developer mode and disabling animations, or disabling svoice.

Just was wondering if there is still a way to access the menu with the button or anyway to change that?
I use the menu feature much more frequently then recent apps on my device.
If that can't be changed that might make it harder for me to use.
Not a deal breaker from me buying it but can be annoying.
Long press the Recent apps can open Menu
Okay.
Good to know.
Thank you for sharing.
I feel less bothered by that now.
isnt there any way to change it back to normal ???? its really annoying to long press eveytime !!
Wish I could change it. Been searching with no positive results

You'll need root, then install xposed framework followed by gravitybox... a search on xda will explain these things If you need help

That is not the menu button.
I am also wanting to go back to the old layout and get rid of the stupid app switcher.

Go into developer setting and turn all your animations back on..
Now reboot and try again....then go back in and turn animations back off..
You're welcome.
You have to have developer options enabled first.

MrDSL,
what animations please?
also, all I get holding down on the spinning gear is either turning on or off the system ui tuner.

That's all you get from holding the setting gear button. You don't have the ability to add custom quick settings via system ui tuner. You'll need a third party app to do so.

Hey all, just got my new S7E and found a bit of a problem, i installed my usual alarm clock app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ihandysoft.alarmclockpro&hl=en_GB but found the only way i can get into the settings on the app is to go via accessibility options, really don't want to have to have the little floating box around all the time and it's a bit of a hassle having to enable this just to be able to choose an alarm time, just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions other than change my alarm app, was hoping for something along the lines of an option or another app to add triple tap the screen to open in app settings or something?
Any help greatly appreciated as always.
