Galaxy S4 stock camera apk? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have found a few threads but a lot of them seem to have mixed replies, I just wanted to know if there is any direct answer as to whether there is a functioning default camera apk or not for custom roms.
Currently I'm running tasks aokp.

If you are asking if you can get the stock camera on an Aosp roms then the answer o's no.

There's no mixed answer here. TW apps cannot run on AOSP based ROMs. Period. So, no.

Alright, glad to get a answer!

[Q] saw a post about Touchwiz kernel? if I flash that after CM 10 can I get ....

So if I flash that after CM 10.1 do I get Touchwiz Apps and camera with CM 10?
Sorry if that is a stupid question..
Is this a real question? CM10 and touchwiz don't mix at all!!
great general information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301762
Thread closed before they brick themselves.
No. There is no way to get TW anything working on AOSP roms.

Is there NO WAY of getting TW Camera on AOKP or CM?

I thoroughly enjoy the Jellybean and touchwiz but wouldn't mind trying out AOKP or CM but I hear that the dual camera and TW features are not included. Is this true? I have searched but no avail...
Thanks!

Question About Google Edition Roms.

Can google edition roms be customizable? For instance on AOSP roms pretty much everything can be customized? Thank you in advance.
Check out this great thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343938

GE ROMs still have a TouchWiz backbone, so you will not see the level of customization that ROMs based on AOSP and / or CM have. Maybe in the future.
there is a thread below this one for google questions.

[Q] Stupid Question.

I have a stupid question. I have tried to search but apparently I am not using the right keywords. I barely post, and when I do it's only when I can not actually find the answer myself. So hopefully you can bare with me and keep the flaming to a minimum.
I have been looking for a custom rom. There are a few that I have wanted to check out, however I actually do like and use the samsung camera features like drama shot, etc.
Is there a cm or aosp based rom that someone could recommend that offers those camera features? Or basically am I stuck just debloating my stock rom if I want to keep them? Not that I find too much actually wrong with the stock rom, I was just looking to play around and try out some of the different projects out there.
Thanks for the help guys in advance. I hope I was clear enough in what I am looking for.
Tim
You have to flash a TW based rom.

Are you saying there is a touchwiz based (debloated) rom that has the AOSP overlay and features. I've been using slim rom (love it) but was thinking. Couldnt you theoretically have a TW based ROM and have the AOSP ontop of it. I love the look of AOSP way more than touch wiz.

Your best bet is to go with a debloated Touchwiz-based ROM based on the much more up to date International firmware. Goldeneye 4.0 is the way to go for me.
You can even install MODs like the xposed framework/nolimit that all you to really customize the look of your phone.

list of SafeStrap roms

Hey guys, just rooted and installed SafeStrap on my att gs4. Is there a list of roms compatible with SafeStrap? I know 4.2.x roms, but what confuses me is which ones? Some ppl say it has to be a 4.2.x "touch-wiz" based rom, other say you can run any 4.2.x rom, hence Google Edition rom(non "touch-wiz"). Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks

I told myself I wouldn't be that guy, but... Search. The "Official SafeStrap Q&A" is less than 10 topics below yours, in the same forum.

. I know the OP in that link says 4.2 touchwiz based roms ONLY. Google Edition rom isnt touchwiz based and others have said they ran non touchwiz roms, as long as its a 4.2...This is conflicting, figure someone can help me clear it up.
The only roms that can run are those that work on the touchwiz kernel. GPE is built with one, so it works. Besides that, only roms using touchwiz or GPE as a base work (no AOSP, nothing that requires a different kernel like 4.3)

As far as i understand it, it's the Kernal. For whatever reason, (this is the part I don't really get) the few GPE ROMs in that thread work with the TW Kernal. But ROMs that require their own Kernal, like CyogenMod, do not work.
Kind of confusing, yes, but this is exactly the type of question that that thread was designed for. And I'm sure you are not the first person to ask it. I'm not saying read through all 80 something pages, but I'm sure the answer is in there somewhere.
The GPE ROMs do not work 100%, either. Due to the missing GPE Kernal, they cannot be seen when plugged in to a computer, cause the drivers it calls for dont match the Kernal used. (Again, as far as I understand it).
Alright questions have been answered. Link to thread where all answers can be found was posted as well. As I closed the other similar question thread I will close this one as well.
OP if you have any questions regarding this decision please feel free to contact me via PM

Have a great day!
