How do I edit the toggles?! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I know I can edit the order of the toggles, but how can I select which toggles I want? Like for instance I rarely ever use Airplane Mode, instead I'd like to replace that toggle with a Hotspot toggle. Is there a way to do this yet for our GS4's??

To my knowledge there is no way to actually remove a toggle. I would love if we could add however....flashlight for instance<a huge insight on Samsung's part.

Mobile Data Toggle for the atrix?

ive been looking for a widget/toggle that will let you turn off the mobile data in your homescreen instead of going thru lots of menus to turn it off. anyone?
Widgetsoid.
Fully customizable power control widget. Works very well. Check it out.
I use APN on/off Widget. Free download and works on every android device without problems.
I can't get it to work with 4.5.91.
From the Mighty Atrix 4G
I use wigisoid but with data switch paired with a launcher you can change the shortcut icon to whatever you want
sent from my Atrix via XDA premium
I use APN Manager and so far, so good!
Sometimes I need to "reset" my Mobile connection to get full speed from my provider (weired!).
Can't you just use the stock airplane mode toggle widget?

the guy just want to turn off data, not voice
Another vote for Widgetsoid here.
It's awesome, so customisable - any toggle for anything that can be turned on/off/adjusted can be done with it, and it's skinnable to the max.
One of my first downloads for a new phone. 10/10 app.
I am all about Widgetsoid as well. Negates the need for any other toggle widget app or whatever...
However I HAVE noticed that while I'm running Gingerbread, the GPS toggle will open up settings every time I press it. Very annoying, but I hear it's present in any phone on Gingerbread...oh well. Kind of unfortunate that the dev hasn't really seemed to put out any updates for a long time..
widgetsoid only changes the apn but the data is still enabled which i believe means it still drains the battery. correct me if im wrong.

POLL ....Toggles or short-cuts on 4.2 JB notification bar

i had a bit of discussion with one of the Google android team on G+ regarding the shortcuts on the notification bar instead of actual toggles.
he is convinced that that how it should be ,he is against having toggles of wifi ,gps, Bluetooth on the bar and only allowing the auto rotate and aeroplane mode to be toggles ,some feature that i think are not used as much as the other are.

i may be wrong but i believe allot of user would prefer actual toggles instead!
what do you think
Oh my gosh!! I voted too soon!! I thought they were real toggles and not shortcuts!! Oh my gosh!! Why would they do that!? Why would they make me take 2 steps to turn off WiFi!? =.S
I prefer the Toggles... Take one and move it to the other answer. =.P
Toggles for me too.
Defenitely toggles
the android developer on my link thinks we are all wrong ,i love their work but sometime i think they just don't see the obvious !
I just read through that G+ page. At first I was on your side... By the end I was convinced that they had made the right decision. Google is all about prediction and toggles mean the phone has failed to predict what you wanted. Ideally the system would predict when you want things on and off (look at auto brightness) and the devs are trying to make it all automated. The rotation is a toggle, because they can't predict whether you want it locked or not, etc.
I too wish there were toggles, but I see where they are going... Automate everything.
That's an interesting conversation. I understand the rationale behind settings instead of toggles, but I too am a toggler. You can tell me all day that leaving WiFi (BT, GPS) on all the time will not reduce my battery life but I still won't believe you. I suppose I should try it.

It's true. I leave them permanently on on my Nexus and HTC Desire S.

Ugh! That is even worse. I'm on android specifically BECAUSE they let you micromanage unlike a certain other smartphone maker...
That said while I voted toggles I do see the utility in easily being able to get to things that often need to be configured quickly like WiFi or blue tooth. I actually have toggles set up in the notification area with extended settings and also use the 4.2 shortcuts. My only wish is that they would give us the option to configure the shortcuts. I never use bluetooth. But a GPS short? That would actually be handy!
Toggles.
hurled from my AOKP'd Evo LTE. Enjoy.

Why not have both? Have them all toggles and then when you hold it, its a shortcut. I think this is the best idea. Sometimes I just want to toggle it, but if I want to choose a different WiFi network for example, I just hold on the WiFi toggle and it gets me directly there. I think this is more natural too.

Power Controls Widget

Does anyone know of a power control widget (for toggling bluetooth, mobile data, gps etc) that actually switches them off and on without loading the settings screen meaning i still have to turn stuff off and on in there rather than on the home screens
Also, widget would be ideal if it has some transparency on

Does the nexus power control widget not do that? I wanted one on my status bar so I use Power Toggles. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
Can add a widget to your status bar that turns things on/off without going to its settings page. You can also change colours and customize the tabs.

Nope, if you click Mobile Data or Bluetooth, it just loads that particular page in Settings so that you can switch it off and on but thats annoying, just want to toggle on the homescreen ...
Downloading Power Toggles now, thank you!
Power Toggles is the only one that works as it should for the GPS toggle.
There are many others as well such as Notification Toggles, Settings Extended, Exilir 2, Widgetsoid and so on.

Aah so it does! So it works arse about face over the normal quick panel way!

New to android here. I have been trying power toggles and it works pretty well. One toggle that does not work as I'd like is the airplane mode toggle. This sends me to the settings page to manually check the "airplane mode" box. Is there a reason for that or am I doing something wrong?
I have Power Toggles and works great. Only went to menu screen before I rooted; now rooted wifi, airplane, gps, all switch it directly (I don't use bluetooth).
Widgetsoid is the app to go. For free and massive possibilities to make switches.

Yup, it's backwards and doesn't make any sense, BUT it works.

The reason why power toggles opens up the selection page instead of just activating airplane mode is because your phone is not rooted. With the phone being rooted, a widget cannot disable GPS.
So...the solution is to root the phone, (which is easy, but you will lose your data, so back everything up first) and then install power toggles as a system application.
Because power toggles directed me to it, I used this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover
It worked like a charm, and it only took me a minute or two, including learning how to use it.
This is just one of the about 10 reasons I've found so far to root the phone, I'm sure you will run across others!
Thanks for the help! It seems like I will need to root to get true toggles without having to go through the settings screen.
Power Toggles ftw

System Ui Tuner- how to enable

Want to add battery percentage?
Want to customize the quick toggles?
Pull down the notification bar and press and hold on the settings gear icon
You will see a message upon releasing that system ui tuner has been added to your settings... Enjoy
Doesn't seem like you can really add any Quick Settings... the only tile you can add is a "Broadcast Tile" and it doesnt seem to do anything or show up

On my Nexus 5 (not 5x) I can add these options: Invert colors, Do not disturb, Hotspot, and Broadcast Tile.
On the 5X it shows Invert Colors, DND, and Hotspot as already being in the list even though Hotspot and Invert Colors are not shown unless the features are actually turned on at the time
This won't work for me for some reason? Disable encryption and rooted, only things I can think of that might interfere?
Fixed: Enabled animations in Developer Options again, rebooted, gear finally spun and unlocked the feature.
This is odd. I can't seem to enable System UI on my 5x. It's rooted, unencrypted. I am using Nova Launcher, but even when I revert back to Google NOW I still can't enable it.
I'm pressing down on the cog icon for at least 30 secs easily. Any ideas?
Oh, need to enable animations as noted above.

You can add some tiles by using this app.

Yea, I tried to use the Invert Colors toggle just to see what it does but it doesn't show in the notification when I exit the system UI tuner. I honestly hate the embedded battery percentage, wish it showed outside of the battery

^^^ this is the app to use! I got some custom tiles that work great.

Sync tile for quick settings?

Anyway to get this tile? I was able to edit the UI or what ever I needed to do to remove titles and such by holding the settings icon, but there is no sync tile that I can add. Is there anything I can do, maybe with xposed?
Maybe something you can set up with the Custom Quick Settings app?

You mean like an app that just runs in the background like notification toggle?
I'm aware of those and would like to avoid them as it just is something else that takes up space on the notification bar
CM13 has it, as did other android phones I've had. I'd like to use some of the moto features and avoid CM13 if possible
Xposed/GravityBox
